Some completely random notes for job seekers in the tech industry:
If they ask you to prove your skills to them even if you have ample credentials, references or published works, this is just to set you up for arbitrary failure if they don't like you: "we don't think you did that well on the tech interview" is still acceptable where "we don't think you're a culture fit" or "we're worried you might take maternity leave" isn't so much any more. Consider walking away, though this one is extremely common in the tech industry (thanks so much Mr Spolsky) so it might be hard to avoid.
If they ask you to prove your skills by doing actual work for them outside of an interview session, just get up and walk away. Even if they offer to pay you for it. They probably won't anyway, and they've already proven they don't respect your time as a job seeker and won't respect it as an employee either.
If they ask you to take a personality or intelligence test, get up and start running as fast as you can. They might as well be asking to measure the size of your head, we're that deep into clueless tech bro territory. Imagine what working for such people would be like day to day. Needless to say, also an excellent pretext for arbitrary rejection.
If you're told up front that the final hiring decision rests with a white male CEO/CTO/VP of whatever you'll need to impress, and you're not one of the bros, well, you can probably already guess how that's going to go. If you have other options, I'd recommend prioritising those, because you already know this one is going to be a long shot.
If they make a big deal about the aforementioned CxO being ex-FAANG, just walk away immediately. Trust me on this one.

@npub1vs8…54zy You mean those things they noted explicitly at the start of the talk that Wayland was designed not to make assumptions about, because X11 making all these assumptions about things that haven't aged well is the reason Wayland needed to exist in the first place? Those aren't regressions.
Like, the Wayland haters' favourite thing to be mad about is that Wayland doesn't do screen capture like X11 used to. That's by design - instead we've got XDG portals to mediate access and Pipewire et al for the nuts and bolts. Window placement and decorations? That should be your desktop environment's responsibility, or at worst your compositor's, not Wayland. And so on. Not regressions, just design decisions that honestly make a lot more sense to me than X11's monolithic approach.

@npub1vs8…54zy I've absolutely met my share of Xorg cultists, though. Like with systemd, there's a lot of valid criticism out there, but there's also a vocal base of irrational reactionaries who seem to be in it just because anything new is bad and everything was better in the 90s when they last bothered to sit down and learn anything. Welcome to the Linux community, basically.
(Moreover, with Wayland I think it's still possible to address valid criticism with code contributions, which is perhaps not as much the case with systemd, or the Linux kernel.)

@npub1vs8…54zy It's a complete redesign, so that's got to be expected. Those are fixable, though. I mean, it's only in the past couple of years Wayland has even become usable for me, it's obviously a work in progress. But Xorg is no longer viable according to Xorg's maintainers, who are the ones who began the redesign in the first place. Could we have designed something better? Probably, especially with the infinite power of hindsight. Could we have stuck with Xorg? Categorically no.

This is the bit that really boggles my mind about the Wayland refusers. I've talked to multiple people who are convinced Wayland is technically inferior and horrendously buggy (either through hearsay, or because of Nvidia's trash proprietary drivers) and this is because the Wayland devs are simply bad at programming, whereas the X.org devs are obviously much better.
It really is the Qanon of lunix reactionaries.
