I mean, it's only in the past couple of years Wayland has even become usable for me, it's obviously a work in progress. But Xorg is no longer viable according to Xorg's maintainers, who are the ones who began the redesign in the first place. Could we have designed something better? Probably, especially with the infinite power of hindsight. Could we have stuck with Xorg? Categorically no.",
