This is the bit that really boggles my mind about the Wayland refusers. I've talked to multiple people who are convinced Wayland is technically inferior and horrendously buggy (either through hearsay, or because of Nvidia's trash proprietary drivers) and this is because the Wayland devs are simply bad at programming, whereas the X.org devs are obviously much better.
It really is the Qanon of lunix reactionaries.
"Wayland and X.org are both part of freedesktop. Whatever maintenance is still happening on X.org is mostly being done by people who primarily work on Wayland. There isn't some kind of holy war going on between The Wayland Developers who want to kill X.org, and The X.org Developers who believe it is great and want to keep it.
