Like with systemd, there's a lot of valid criticism out there, but there's also a vocal base of irrational reactionaries who seem to be in it just because anything new is bad and everything was better in the 90s when they last bothered to sit down and learn anything. (Moreover, with Wayland I think it's still possible to address valid criticism with code contributions, which is perhaps not as much the case with systemd, or the Linux kernel.)
