I've noticed that Christians who lose their faith commonly become atheists. Because they start with the premise, "Christianity therefore God".
Actually it should be, "God therefore Christianity". Because you actually don't need any faith to believe in God. You can know this deductively, like Plato and Aristotle did. Believe it or not, at the bottom of reality God is necessary to explain existence itself.

Here in America, it's perfectly legal to be homeless, you can sleep in a cardboard box, your car, in a bush etc. But, if you pitch a tent you will be fined for "camping".
But if you are at a campground you cannot sleep in your car and must pitch a tent.

I came to Freeatlantis after Liberal Mastadon instance Mas.to kicked me out for practicing free speech regarding sketchy vaccines I was very concerned about. Now vindicated.
Although I'm more of a conservative Libertarian, all the Republicans here are such beautiful people. Although I'm closer to the Republicans than the Democrats I still have differing opinions.
Yet this instance didn't kick me out for having differing opinions. That speaks loudly!

Facebook permanently shadow banned me during Covid, because I wasn't convinced the vaccine was safe and said so.
But not just me, all the people who were talking about it have been shadow banned. If I go directly to their wall I can see all their posts with maybe one like, when dozens of people were following them before.

I actually know a man in his 50s whose grandfather was born during the civil war. His grandfather was 60 when his father was born, and his father, a WW II veteran, was 45 when he was born. He has their pictures on his wall, and knows their stories. A lot of history there. I should sit down with a camera and interview him.

Gaza isn't a military superpower like Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan was. Gaza has no army, navy, or air force. Just a rag tag militia, there's no possible way they could overthrow Israel. It was really just a breech of security. I'm sure they can fix that without a mass slaughter of civilians.

I could say that about both sides. I'm not opposed to Israel defending itself, I merely repudiated their disproportional response to a handful of criminals. Israel has now killed thousands of civilians, and displaced millions. Should I cheer them on? What they are doing is wrong.

What happened under the Nazis was horrible. I sympathize with the Jews wanting to get out of there and live in peace. But that doesn't change the fact they displaced a couple million people.
Perhaps that's why they don't like them? Jewish people were living in peace in that region prior to 1948, so saying they don't like them because they're Jewish doesn't work.

I wish the people of Israel well but you have to also see things from the perspective of the local Palestinians as well. All they know is a bunch of white people from Germany came and kicked them out of their homes claiming to be the chosen race.
