I see your point, as always, but still... Thinking that we may not have democracy in five years, even after Biden, is a shame. It expresses, like you say, that we need to think outside of voting. Voting is a tool of the wealthy in it's form (aka there are better forms for the populace) and so cannot save us. It is supposed to save us, but that only works when our wealthy (and yes they are a thing of our making) act responsibly.
Get out and vote! Then, go find an axe.

I think about this in the form of a scene where the populace chants "Four more years! Four more years!"
Flashing forward, the screen reads: 5 Years Later. The populace realizes that they were granted only four more years of democracy, not the candidate, and that democracy died anyway.
It is then that they realize that the true way to beat the thing was to stop falling for it.
The country dies anyway.
Because it ran out of cash.
Biden is, at best, a slow leak.

Well, the issues must also involve other stakeholders, like mother nature and the common good. Here, the potential for harming nature makes me gut this to wrong. Still, I feel that they have made their point. Here we are speaking of them now, across a sea and some. It sucks that the world must decay as it has. Why can't we too be granted peace, homes, and privacy?

This can be read in two ways:
1. Seeking to break established laws
2. Seeking to break future laws
I'm speaking of a time, in the future, where any action, reasonable or otherwise, deemed inappropriate to wealth, will be against the law. We are headed there now.
I think your examples happen to be laws outside of protecting wealth directly (unless protecting art generally is their aim). I will never be for the destruction of art, no matter the author.

This, to me, is easy.
Laws exist to protect the rich. You can see it in the enforcement. You can see it in the asymmetries. It's obvious.
As such, there will soon be no saving the world without breaking the law.
In other words, laws are becoming incompatible with reasons.

Their biggest fear right now should be quality, and I bet that's known. It's like the fear of any monopolized system.

This opinion of yours, is very much like mine.
And it's heresy here.
In general, I see the system as doing all it can collectively (left + right) to keep you voting like you only have two crummy choices. Biden is shit compared to a decent candidate. But, they've got you scared about an evil element. It's all status maintenance and it's working.
Once again, this is heresy here, maybe for the lack of critical thinking or something.

Can confirm, by having taught in a business college, that most end up unquestioning automota in corporations. A surprising amount do it to take over the family business. Essentially, business programs teach greed. Or, that it's OK to be greedy because metrics for greed exist. Either way, they end up much like what LinkedIn turns people into.
Oh, and these people HATED stats. Go figure.

Yeah, I get that vibe everywhere, because I live in a car.
Tents? Must be a bum. Not a guy working on heavy number theory problems, writing books, and doing parkour. They don't see all that.
Tents don't seem to go well with controlled and programmed middle class mindsets in general.
The donors to the college are probably the actual power here. Pulled funding equals insufficient funding, by design. I'm guessing those folks have no need for protest. They're winning.

The current system is immune to the real world only in the form of delusion. Problems bigger than the system will devour it, like the growing cost of Climate Change.
I agree that all should do what they can. The problem is the constant and professional obfuscation of anything climate. Making it harder to know what right is.

I too studied AI, but in an armchair research way, by applying stochastic DE's in a Hopfield-like setting. It felt very genuine then too. And that was only a decade ago.
Here, though, I more mean AI as it is manifested now, which rivals a snarling greed dog in some ways. I could very much see oil money investing in AI and Crypto to stay alive.

My moment came when I went into an old Gmail account and saw all that I used to buy from Amazon. Once I matched this to the harm that I was seeing from them elsewhere, I grew ashamed that I was part of the monopolization of america. Still am.
Now I buy inconveniently to make conversation and save the world a little. Feels good.
Yeah, 18 bucks to see Dune 2? The film is good, but that's gouging.

It seems to me that once an entity becomes established as wealthy, there becomes little difference between competition and protectionism, to that entity.
In other words, competition between wealthy entities should be found in their protectionist methods.
Hence monopolies. Hence billionaires. Hence societies falling apart.
Tldr; Competition here is not equal to competition there. Especially when wealth is involved.
