One thing to watch for - I ran into this in North Georgia - are rodents.
They too enjoyed hiding under the cardboard. I'm not sure why they liked the cardboard so much more than the mulch, but they did for that particular location.
It's just something to look for (and now, in that same area, I imagine I would need to look for hammerhead worms.)

I never though I would be eating a bell pepper like some folks eat apples.

You know why Green bell peppers are cheaper than the colored bell peppers? The colored ones are ripe. The plants "know" they have produced finished seed for the year, and start slowing production. Green ones aren't ripe. The plants don't slow production of more after they are picked.

As some one who worked with it a lot....
Man, nostalgia took a long long time for me to see someone calling Windows 3.11 good.

It wasn't. I suppose I should qualify that with "to me it wasn't".... but..... it wasn't.
.
However, if it fits your use case, go for it.
I do know of one that was in production use into the 2010's. In Manufacturing, which won't surprise anyone.

As someone who used one of these (though more primitive) for 2 years as an early teen... good luck. Buy for performance, sharpen often, and mow even more often. It'll build muscle. And aggravation. So, so much aggravation.

Even if you stay on top of maintenance - which most folks don't (How often do you have someone out to tune up the AC?) Crawl under the house? (if you have a crawl space), pop a ladder up to look at the roof?
It still gets pricey.

Don't compost it. The active ingredient is stable for a long time (over a year). So you'll have poison ivy active compost, unless you believe in *very* well aged compost.
Either bag it and dump it into the garbage, or put it into an isolated spot in the woods - not somewhere a kid or a dog is likely to be interested in.
It's not dangerous per se - except in rare highly specific instances - but its unpleasant as hell.

Nah, just wear long sleave shirts, tape your britches etc. Then strip by the washing machine and wash the clothes twice over, with all the extra rinses and the like turned on. Jump in the shower while the clothes are washing.
My wife is allergic to poison ivy, above and beyond the normal reaction. So I take a zero toleration policy toward the stuff. Which is something of a shame. Wildlife love it.

Poison ivy is a different beast. I've cleared lots of it myself (and some not small amount of kudzu).
Poison Ivy is much like the video says. The bit that people react to is incredibly stable though, and will last many months on utensils and the like. And don't burn it. Breathing the smoke from burning poison ivy could put you in the hospital. It did my mother in law.

Keep it up! English Ivy first crawls, then walks, then gallops, Yours is in the galloping stage. When you get enough beaten back, it will get easier and easier.
I'm not sure how well English Ivy tolerates mowing or weed eating, but that's worth looking at. Kudzu has a low toleration for both - with luck, English Ivy will be the same.
