Don't compost it. The active ingredient is stable for a long time (over a year). So you'll have poison ivy active compost, unless you believe in *very* well aged compost.
Either bag it and dump it into the garbage, or put it into an isolated spot in the woods - not somewhere a kid or a dog is likely to be interested in.
It's not dangerous per se - except in rare highly specific instances - but its unpleasant as hell.
