Communities are meant to specialize in niche topics, moderation is secondary, at least on nostr, because you can jump to any community or client without losing your profile, content and followers. It's more of a place to gather with like-minded people and discover content you enjoy. As they grow, it would cater to your mood at the time, you could be looking at gardening, books, or philosophy... and you can jump between them.

I am sure the @nprofile…jvlx features are a work-in-progress, and what you are pointing out is great feedback for them. I agree, there's still so much to build that would encourage that community feeling... from channels, to calendar events, and other widgets. What would you most love to see?
Now, it is software that can be customized, it includes some moderation features, badges, NIP-05, and I'm running it on my own server and domain, which is a different way of implementing nostr. It is an additional door for nostr access.

I’m troubleshooting a 502 error.
So far, this is what I’ve confirmed is working:
- nginx is running
- the config file syntax is ok
- a test of the config file was successful
- I don’t think I have conflicts on either port (80,443)
- the DNS is pointing to the right IP
- I’ve double checked the spelling of the domain that replaced the example.com
Any other suggestions?
Is there something in the ditto setup that is most likely to trip a newbie?
I haven’t discovered the issue yet, but I’ll walk through my screenshots to see if I spot something.

Nostr has more than 3 times the amount of developers than X ( @npub16c0…6nvr @npub1l2v…ajft #nostriga) So far, that has often meant developers working on their own unique clients, adding to the diversity of the nostrverse.
A different sphere of possibilities is starting. @npub1q3s…d26p et al, have opened up @npub10qd…arpj relay/clients people can run on a VPS to host their own communities. I wonder if this will lead to developers/designers creating components and themes that people could customize to shape unique environments for their communities, based on their niche needs.
The variety of nostr clients already supports a decentralized nostr, and, with the advent of niche communities, that is likely to increase.
Communities are not decentralizing for the sake of decentralization, but by focusing on bringing people together over common interests.
Best part: all these efforts continue adding to nostr’s network effects.

I’d like #art to reflect the idea that some people do not see what makes technology like #bitcoin and #nostr special, but for those who do, it is something meaningful and empowering.
This design carries keys. Five of them. You will spot four of them easily, but the fifth one… that may be a bit of a surprise. For those who understand the value of owning your keys, and hence your nostr, you will see more than five keys there. You will see why keys matter, and that, cannot be seen with the eyes.

Thank you for sharing your story. It’s inspiring to hear that. I’m bilingual too, English/Spanish, and I have also noticed the struggles with technology that does not come in people’s native language, even when they have some knowledge of that other language.
I know you have done a lot of work on translation. Do you think that aside from translating or thinking of English as a universal language, we may have another universal language: technological symbols? Is it possible that these symbols are much easier to learn and could make products more accessible even if translations are unavailable?
People may not know the word play, but they recognize the “play” button, or download, send, camera, even emojis. (with some cultural nuances)
