It's more complicated than that. End The Fed was published in 2009, just before bitcoin was discovered. They want gold sans central banks.
Rothbard wrote a book in 1970 titled: The Case For A 100% Gold Backed Currency.
Many libertarians are gold bugs who got into bitcoin before 2015 because it was "Digital Gold." It was also the title of one of the first Bitcoin books by Nathaniel Popper. Therefore, there a lot of libertarians were attracted to Bitcoin in the early days because of this. They are also a group that is really into conspiracy theories, so I expect the price to drop until these libertarians get shaken out.

1) You can keep the output descriptor with each key. You are unlikely to use 2-of-3 of these copies.
2) You can combine multisig with Seed XOR(2-of-2). Ideally, each key would be in steel it requires each key to have part a or b of each other key. You should also have the extra word, but I am not sure it's necessary.
This is better from a privacy perspective because if one key is comprised, the thief has no way of knowing how much bitcoin you have.

It's great. They have a Wallet of Satoshi tutorial. The problem is wallet of Satoshi is not available to normies in the United States anymore. Normies aren't getting an apk for Phoenix wallet on GitHub. To think otherwise is not a realistic.
After the WOS ban, many of the early nostr people left because they didn't have an alternative lightning wallet. Cashu gives us more options than the Custodial alternatives.
I started making Cashu Cards https://github.com/Marc26z/CashuCards because cashu is interoperable with many different wallets. If one wallet decides to pull out of the United States, other wallets will still be available. That's why I like it. Even though I am a super-geeky lightning node runner myself, my wife would punch me in the face if I made her run her own lightning node. So would most other people.
#Cashu enables offline bitcoin payments. That's really cool for small amounts. It's like zaps in meatspace. Nobody's telling you to put your life savings in Cashu, but it's awesome tech. It could also work with fiat gift cards. Chaumian e-cash was almost used with fiat in the 90's. The 90's are back in style. Make ecash great again!

That's exactly what I do. I prefer using the Chapwood Index, but you could also use shadow stats or m2 if you wanted.
San Diego is the closest US City to me so I use 12.85% as a benchmark.
If I can obtain a loan for less than. 12%, I would rather make monthly payments. The interest is 10% on my new AC/heater, but bitcoin is up 36% since then despite the fact that every normie in the world thinks it "crashed."
If I paid cash, I would have to add a 15% sales tax the government calls "capital gains." Fiat is debt anyway so I think it's a bad idea to sell sats for debt.

Me too. Bitcoin was only a couple hundred bucks when I first heard about it, but just got a warehouse job making $12.00 an hour after a year of unemployment. If I made more money then, I could have stacked more sats.

They do, but it's easy to import them into Sparrow Wallet. They would have your public info and can see how many bitcoin you have under control of with that wallet. I assume they keep this as private as possible, but I can't verify it.
They do not need to know your

- legal name
- social security addresses.
That information is not required, which is more secure from a $11 wrench attack. Anchor watch is interesting because you can KYC yourself, but still have $11 wrech attack protection for a fee. There are many other things to think about.
Elaborate schemes are often less secure. Even if you're an expert, your spouse may not be. That's why bitcoin cybersecurity is such a deep, never-ending rabbit hole.

I'm not making a living writing or anything, but I love how easy nostr makes it to get paid for articles. I had to run my own lightning mode to allow people to pay me 210 sats on yalls.org. It's a cool site, that let's you do cool things like create a hashcash inbox, but there is no way to make writing profitable on calls, especially if you consider hardware costs.
I also wrote a WordPress blog and added a BTCpayServer instance from LunaNode. A hundred thousand blocks or so ago, Someone sent me 10,000 sats and I was overjoyed, but it didn't cover one month of the server cost.
#Nostr allows artists to get paid sats with almost no upfront or recurring cost. Anyone with a smart phone can earn sats writing, selling paintings, or whatever with very little cost(if any). I've never made a sat on platforms like medium, substack, or X. I doubt I could make $11 per month(or whatever a blue check costs) on X, but it's pretty easy to make 11,000 sats on nostr. I wish more people understood this.
You can see the envy in the post. Bitcoin has no need for envy. The more sats Saylor buys, the richer I get. I think that's why the left has a hard time with it. It goes against all their propaganda.

I heard George Takai talk about his family's experience after Pearl Harbor on Penn Jillete's podcast a few months before I heard about bitcoin. I'm not Japanese, but after executive Order 9066, they took him close to where I was born so the story stuck with me.
His family lost everything just because they were Japanese. So when I did hear about bitcoin, I looked at it through this lens. It's the main reason I find the ability to hold your life's savings with 12 words so appealing. The internment camps could happen to anyone in the wrong circumstances, but anyone with a 5th grade reading level can use bitcoin to protect themselves from this injustice.
That's why I don't think ETF's are so great. I'm no so much afraid of fractional reserve bitcoin because the ledger is public. The autistic bitcoin nerds would figure that shit out. I even understand why someone would use them to save taxes or get a 401k match, but trusted third parties are a security hole and I don't trust the government.
This is also why the SBR doesn't seem like a reason to celebrate. I don't want the government to have an incintive to create another executive order 9066.

You can do 2, 3, or 4 splits, but 2 is recommended. For example, you have a 24 word seed. It gets split up into two 24 seeds. You need part A and part B to build the actual seed.
So if you could somehow get 3 seeds on steel, you would only need 2-of-3 steel plates. You would not need the descriptor as long as you have 2-of-3 plates.

I had a "Fuck The RIAA T-shirt" and a Napster T-Shirt and bumper sticker. I started using LimeWire, a Gnutella client, after the government shut it down. BitTorrent was the pinnacle of these.

I understand many trans people have little hope in the fiat matrix. You can't save fiat for a surgery and medical costs rise like 15% a year. I think Susan B. Anthony made some good arguments in the 1800's, but the politicians saw an opportunity in second-wave feminism.

The real wage gap was caused by the debasement. $6,200 = $65,075.93 today according to the official CPI calculator. I think these numbers are bullshit, but that's another story. The rhetoric was that women should have more opportunities, but that was not the reality. The result: Men and Women need to work just to keep up with the debasement. Men and women both suffer from the real temporal-based wage gap.
I would never say women should never work or that they can't pursue financial independence, but that's not the real glass ceiling. I would love to stay home and write while my Roomba does the mopping. I did it for a while, but that's not possible anymore, not without spending more sats I feel comfortable with anyway. I know families who are struggling with both parents working. Teenagers are picking up jobs just to make ends meet. That's the real problem.
The debasement/double spending problem is the elephant in the room. Even those who accept that household duties should be more equitable no longer have that option because men and women must both work in most households.
The arguments from 50 years ago don't make much sense in the fiat matrix. I think that's one reason why the cultural war shifted to trans stuff. Don't like the wage gap? Just switch your gender. Problem solved, but that's not the real problem: The double spending problem is the biggest problem of modernity.

Before I knew any better, I bought Cardano. I held it much longer than I wanted to because I didn't understand the 12 words in any meaningful way.
After going bitcoin only, I studied the BIP39 wordlist. I liked the idea of turning numbers into mnemonics, not just with bitcoin. I also studied the major number system.
Eventually, I figured out Cardano used the same list. I realized the word "store" was not on it. The word was stove, but my handwriting sucks.
I'm lucky I have any bitcoin. I have made so many mistakes, fell for so much bullshit and have had way too many close calls that could have caused me to lose my whole stack.

I'm afraid that's too complex for my wife. Seed XOR is also too complex for her, but not me. I like Seed XOR because it does not add complexity for my wife because I can have the seed(for her) and split the seed(for me, the bitcoin autist🤓).
My favorite was 2-of-3 multisig
2 keys geographically seperated and 1 key encrypted with AES on final message(unfortunately, no longer available )
The AES decryption key goes to your next of kin. 12 BIP39words punched into a seed plate. I prefer this because it's easy to destroy if I ever need to, but this is subjective and I realize one could argue against this.
It's important to make it difficult to spend your deep cold storage. The longer it takes to spend the better.
That's why I liked Final Message. $50 paid in sats locked up thatessage for a year. Add another $50 it woukd take you two years to spend.
The Cold Card timers are interesting, but it's not practical to keep it plugged into a 9v battery for a year. The Q is better, but I don't think that would work either.
I am currently experimenting with time locked safes that can only be accessed for a narrow window of time, but I don't have a good solution yet. I think PINS on something simmilar to Final Message. The batteries need to be replaced and it's a good idea to keep a backup key.
Maybe we need Bitcoiner Safe deposit boxes with time-locks built by cypherpunks.

I've been on an Antiques Road Show kick. The experts always talk about provenance of a vase with a face painted by Picasso, the authenticity of a baseball autographed by Mickey Mantle, or a Peanuts comic signed by Charles M, Scultz.
I find these stories interesting and thought, "Nostr would be great tool for provenance verification if you assigned an nsec to these collectibles.. As long as the owners can keep the nsec a secret, each owner can announce the transfer of ownership on nostr, as if it were a Rai stone on the island of Yap.
It's just an idea I've had. It's not perfect. Who knows if people can keep secrets, but it would make forgeries more difficult at least. I'm not the best painter, but I used Rana to mine a vanity key:

It is, but domain names are still a single point-of-failure. Satoshi tried fixing this problem using Namecoin. It was a failed experiment, the first shitcoin, but the problem was not solved.

Land is not a shitcoin because it is one of the 4 factors of production. My grandparents survived the great depression by raising chickens in their backyard.
I know my house does depreciate, so I don't consider it an investment, but my garden is a hedge fund against inflation. So far, my wife is against the idea of raising chickens, but eggflation is slowly changing her mind.
I still stack sats, but at some point, the marginal utility of a few more sats(relative to your stack) becomes less useful than tomatoes on your garden.
I think a Mobile Home Citadel for bitcoiners with a community garden and chicken coup is the ideal use of real estate, but that's not a thing yet and I don't have enough sats to build it.

I'm responding to this because I find these ideas interesting and have spent over 10,000 hours studying economics and bitcoin. I promise I will not call you names even though I respectfully disagree.
I don't believe a community or state can abolish private property when the private property can be distilled into 12 secret random words.
Ironically, bitcoin does give the means of monetary production to the people, but this is a moot point given that individual people do not have equal ability. Very few people had sufficient knowledge to mine bitcoin when the block reward was 50 bitcoin every 10 minutes. Therefore, even though anybody could technically produce bitcoin blocks, very few people can.
The same is true for saving. Even if we could defy human nature with schemes such as this, it would not solve wealth inequality. Most people spend money like drunken sailors. If everyone had the same income that could not be debased or stolen, broke people would still exist because people do not have equal money management skills.
That is why I prefer capitalism with a non-socialist monetary system. The United States, contrary to popular belief, is not a capitalist economic system. It's a mixed economy where some people(banks and government) get money without doing any work aside from fudging numbers.
A bank does not **save capital** to buy a house. Banks print money to buy homes and **collect rent from HoMe OwNeRs**. It's an accounting trick, not capitalism.

I procured a mortgage in 2022 for ~12.5 bitcoin.
The house is now worth ~5.3 bitcoin.
It's good for me because the mortgage gets cheaper over time.
If I was a bank that could print fiat out of thin air, I would use it to stack sats not single family homes. The bankers are idiots.

I don't like to be a complainy-pants.
I can only upload photos to the app about 10% of the time.
I self-host many of my photos on Gitea, but that's not feasible for most users.
I only mention it to improve the app and make nostr better.
