Why Nostr? What is Njump?

I've been on an Antiques Road Show kick. The experts always talk about provenance of a vase with a face painted by Picasso, the authenticity of a baseball autographed by Mickey Mantle, or a Peanuts comic signed by Charles M, Scultz.

I find these stories interesting and thought, "Nostr would be great tool for provenance verification if you assigned an nsec to these collectibles.. As long as the owners can keep the nsec a secret, each owner can announce the transfer of ownership on nostr, as if it were a Rai stone on the island of Yap.

It's just an idea I've had. It's not perfect. Who knows if people can keep secrets, but it would make forgeries more difficult at least. I'm not the best painter, but I used Rana to mine a vanity key:

I'm also considering writing something and sending it to the npub associated to the painting using NIP04. I don't have all the details worked out yet though. :)
