Yup, i found freshrss.org and started hosting it so I can keep my reads synced across devices. On iOS, NetNewsWire has worked well with this.

From a performance and privacy standpoint, feels like Brave is better. Disable all of the "Web3" and AI stuff and use as is to maintain a non-unique fingerprint. The built-in ad blocker uses many of the same sources as uBlock origin and just works. Still, I wish it was quicker/easier to disable the bloat.

This is sort of what Bitcoin is for. Save your time and effort in an inviolable asset and when you find something worth exchanging that stored time and effort you make a trade. A home seems like a worthy trade. And I would agree if you said home prices are irrationally high, but remember that markets can remain irrational longer than you'd expect so waiting for prices to come down may not make sense (along with any other life situations this person may have).

Nostr uses libsecp256k1, a bitcoin library. And nostr was built by bitcoiners. So nostr would not exist without bitcoin.

You do need to manage your own channels, but the management can be minimal. The default options give you about 1 million sats of inbound liquidity in a single channel. Most users won't need more than this, but the options for more advanced management are there.

Notedeck runs nostrdb which fetches your notes and has a relay interface for the connected nostr client. The relay also uses negentropy to sync notes with other relays so that notes are spread through the network and decentralized.

I think he's just giving honest criticism of the tradeoffs and is probably annoyed that someone is claiming to understand all of the tradeoffs while writing off some deficiencies as inconsequential.

I think the note you're quoting is referring to finding *all* available notes including those that you will never see or interact with because the account is way outside of your circle. Nostr made a good tradeoff here.

I would ditch plex in an instant if users could create a nostr account on the fly and request access to my server then connect to jellyfin without having to type in the url or further authenticate since theyre already siging with thwir nsec. Id also give access to something like jellyseerr so i can add requested content.
But i dont want to set this (user accounts, expose jellyfin, etc) all up manually. Ugh this might be a project worth looking into while i'm off from work.
Made an ios shortcut to check if im connected to ivpn. Made a focus that sets my wallpaper to ‼️🛜‼️ and didn't mess with notifications. Made another shortcut that uses the first one and then turns on or off the mentioned focus. Set automations to trigger the focus-setting shortcut on specific network changes.

If you fail to update your address, that's on you. If the sender stored your primal address instead of using a nostr native application, then that's on them.

Arg, i was too excited. This works at home because server1 and my iphone are routed to vpn by my router which maintains the vpn connection. The subnet router only works when an exit node is not specified
So draftkings began blocking access to their platform via known vpn ip addresses. This was annoying because I had to switch from my vpn connection every time i wanted to check how im doing. And then id have to remember to turn it back on.
No more! I use Tailscale and set two of my computers as exit nodes, one of them is connected to my VPN provider, the other just goes straight to the Internet via my ISP.
