My youngest sister and her entire family are now in Australia. The last kid my niece leaves for OZ next month. My granddaughters bestie and her partner leave for Perth next month. Three of the neighbours kids that mine grew up with live in Australia. I wonder how many NZers now reside in Australia?

My brother in law passed away last night. Not many of our family will be able to go to the Tangi as it will be on his marae in the South Island. He is well known and it will be quite a big affair I’m told. He had dementia and the last year has been terrible for both him and my sister. She cared for him at home up until the last few months when she had no choice but to find a care facility. Dementia is a terrible condition. My sister is exhausted she has spent every day with him at the facility.

Apparently Seymour is going to attempt to lift restrictions on previously forbidden agricultural chemicals. This is a danger to public health as most of these kinds of chemicals are carcinogenic. ACT is a death cult. As Mr 8% appears to be running the Country he may well meet with success.

Unbelievably it’s grocery delivery day today. I have thoughts about being manipulated to buy expensive brands online. I tried to buy store brand frozen blueberries. They were out of stock online. The sub offered to me was more than $2 more expensive than store brand. Unexpectedly the GDaughter had to make a rushed trip to the local store so I tagged along to get bread as I’d run out on Monday. The freezer was full of store brand berries. This got me to thinking!

@npub1zg9…nh26 I’m a good cook but after cooking dinner since I was a kid in the last five years I have gotten sick of cooking. I tend to cook meals that freeze well in individual servings for future me. I don’t even like baking any more. I used to bake a lot for the family and later for the grandkids who lived nearby.

My sister who is recovering from COVID in continuing care has now caught Influenza A. Three body bags have gone out the door since COVID and Influenza A arrived in the Facility. This is in just over one week. Masking protocol was poor. Staff don’t wear PPE. They were supposed to. They’re not changing their gloves my sister says after each patient. No wonder people don’t want to go into care.
