My brother in law passed away last night. Not many of our family will be able to go to the Tangi as it will be on his marae in the South Island. He is well known and it will be quite a big affair I’m told. He had dementia and the last year has been terrible for both him and my sister. She cared for him at home up until the last few months when she had no choice but to find a care facility. Dementia is a terrible condition. My sister is exhausted she has spent every day with him at the facility.
