My decrepit 14 yr old dog saw her chance and took it. The groceries had just been delivered and the gates were open. I got a phone call and my wee dog wandered off and saw the gates were open. My Son in Law next door heard me panicking and saw Madam heading past their gate. Despite having Parkinson’s he managed to grab her by her jumper. I’d never have caught her as she started to run. Now she’s out looking every time she hears a car in case someone leaves the gate open!
