My daughter was walking to the King Soopers grocery in Boulder, CO as it was being shot up by a gunman. Her dad called her to make sure she knew it was going on. That call turned her around and she went home and locked down. She moved to #Maine a few years ago. I texted her now about the Lewiston, ME shooting happening. She didn’t know. She’s 20 mins from #Lewiston - not close, but not far enough for me.

We’re allowing a man whose cars’ technical failures cause traffic accidents and pedestrian deaths and whose social media platform helps foreign leaders target and sentence to death individual citizens for their speech, own and operate a communications system paid for by our taxes to aid our military and our allies.
He made a unilateral military decision on behalf of the aggressor that cost innocent lives and we’re just going to let that go? 🤨

He has to create a workaround to diminish the harm of the evil fascists on the #SCOTUS since he can’t get the votes in Congress to replace them or increase their numbers.

@npub1eeu…u43z Honesty, I have no guilt. I’ve been a really good daughter. It’s important to me to send her off with love. I let go of the other stuff a long time ago. She did her best with what she knew. No point in guilt or regrets now.

@npub1eeu…u43z I understand. I may be surprised at how I handle her death. I’m taking care of her with love and as much grace as possible, but I’d be lying if I said she was a great mom. She wasn’t. I forgive her for being who she was as a parent, because that’s better for my life. But I haven’t forgotten the way she treated me. She was much nicer to my younger sister, who refused to take her in. My parents split when I was 16. My dad recently said, “I never thought you’d be the one to care for her.”

#[0] We are springing her in a few hours. Got all the home hospice stuff underway. It’s a zillion phone calls and convos, but we’re on a good path now. We’re both fully vaxxed and recently boosted. So if the home test was false neg, we are feeling fine and wear masks routinely.

They removed her mask to get an under tongue temp. Not at all necessary - and then failed to replace the mask while taking her other vitals. I replaced it when they finished. My sister said she went into our mom’s room and found her unmasked AFTER she’d been diagnosed with COVID. My sister had a kidney transplant, making her very vulnerable, so she left quickly. She’s always masked. It’s a shitshow.

They loved me. Couldn’t wait for me to start. I am fortunate that I look much younger than I am. They must’ve been flabbergasted when they saw my ID. On the upside, they went out of business and mine is flourishing. One of my clients just offered me a FT job.

This is exactly the reason I started my own company. I was interviewed a few years ago by a tech startup. They told me I had to get the 👍 from everyone who interviewed me. I interviewed with 9 people. They all gave me the 👍. I was offered the job. I sent in my drivers license and SS card as requested and they stopped responding. 2 weeks later I ran into one of the execs who told me they went with someone else (much younger).
She was let go 5 months later.

#[0] My mom’s doc ignored her symptoms for a year, just telling her that her back hurt because she sits too much. Nope. Turned out to be tumors. I need to take care of her, and my time is limited, so not a lot of spare time to fight an insurance company. But I’ve read how denial is automatic. I’ll see what I can do to challenge it, but I’m already losing billable work because of this situation. It’s complicated. I just wish seniors were treated better.

I was reading how Russia is suffering a tremendous 'brain drain' as tech workers and other skilled labor are fleeing the country. The US may experience the same thing in the coming years if this demolition of our democracy is allowed to continue.
