The indoctrination through years of r.w. media and certain faiths has been very powerful.

Just days later same dude, same shtick, is going to do P.R. for Putin and his invasion of Ukraine, his war on democracy.

Either significant jail time for executives or complete liquidation of the entire company for such events, those are the only measures strong enough to get the directors attention to balance safety against profit.

Definetly want to sort that out before next winter, but for now best of luck to you, it has to warm up soon. On the air hose thing, try and have at least one real rubber air hose around, (just one-they cost way more) any type of plastic is a pain in cold weather.

If so I had one of those that I "forgot" to fix for years because it worked more reliably than the original heating eq.. It has since been upgraded to a safer setup now, but a light bulb can get you by in a pinch.

@npub1dm5…5sqe We processed more tomatoes so that was the perfect time to have a go at doing scratch pizza. Basic kitchenaid dough (really good) and 2.5 C of flour was plenty for a 15" and a similar sized baking pan pizza. I highly recommend this sauce recipe : https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/233549/dads-ultimate-pizza-sauce/ , we made our own including the tomato paste, most ingredients from our garden. Anyhow really enjoyed a thin ham/pineapple and a very thick all dressed 10 layer version. Cooking with family is always time well spent!

@npub1dm5…5sqe I've done my own many times (always in tomato surplus season) but have yet to find what I consider the perfect recipe, sadly some of the commercial ones just seem to have something I'm missing. Going to experiment again this week, maybe this time will be the one.
I want to find something I consider good enough to put in the canner, to have it on my shelf all winter.

@npub1dm5…5sqe Got a stone many years ago too, it has seen a lot of use, then was gifted a set of perf trays when a friend closed his shop and we still enjoy them both, but with very different results.
Do you do your own sauce from scratch? If so do you have a favourite recipe? I'm looking for interesting things to do with some extra tomatoes real soon.

The E Coli 157 situation, in regards to the Canadian meat industry, is entirely preventable at the source. Entirely preventable through simple management practices.

@npub1qzc…yetl Saskatchewan built one of the first functional CCS systems, which did a much better job of subsidizing the fracking business than reducing coal fired carbon emissions. The government subsidies poured in to that one project would have been more than enough to pay for solar power for ever household in the entire province of a million people.
Bottom line here is: "green" projects that benefit fossil growth get govt. funding first.

@npub1qzc…yetl We used to have fireflies at a certain time each summer. Their numbers dwindled to near zero here the past few decades.
We always had loads of other insects. In the last few weeks most of the flying insects seem to be gone? Really strange not to be set upon by mosquito swarms or get your car windshield coated on a hot summer night. IDK if this is something to do with the forest fire smoke in the air? or something else? but this is very unusual for our part of the world.

@npub15dz…6wus Our part of Sk is enjoying near perfect growing conditions this year aside from that frost scare thing. There is a line dividing most of Alberta and parts of Sk that, past that line, are seriously short on moisture but still getting the heat and winds. The weather patterns keep getting stuck as the jet stream stalls repeatedly.

#[0] I have not seen this before. I watched a couple of their videos, very neat systems for urban rain water catchment. We do something similar but not nearly so well designed. This is the very best quality water for house plants and gardens and if it became popular could lower the municipal water treatment plant chemical+energy loads.
