Hello, my name is Thomas Mühlematter and I run Dragonbane Creation where I work full-time on the development of an original science-fiction.
In this world, Humanity had to leave Earth behind. Following an arduous exodus, they arrive on a new planet they call Heavngard, where they have to build everything anew.
The videogame will be an RPG set in a procedurally-generated world using the custom game and world engine I am developing.

Here is a quick update about the progress over the past two months.
The architecture of the website has been completely overhauled to to be much simpler to work with and faster. The size of the code your browser has to download has been reduced. This means that you should have seen a significant improvement in speed since beginning of August.
Another major part of the work has been to develop the localization system further. For now, it is mostly automated translation which is not always consistent or even good but will allow the website to start ranking in search engines for different languages. Two other languages have also been added. This means that the website is now available in 12 languages: English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese and Russian.
Using the same AI model, some automated dialog generations have also been tested but it is not at the level to be interesting in videogame dialogs yet.
A prototype of the code to handle the world is also ready and integrated with the rest of the code.
Now that this is done, the next step is to start creating the architecture of the world with all of the different elements and how they interact with each other.

Dragonbane Creation is now tentatively available in 10 languages.
The quality of translations is quite low for now but will improve over time. This will also allow us to test the impact of localization and quality of localization on SEO.
Social media cards have also been optimized and harmonized between languages.
The first tests of 3D procedural generation have also been successful. Examples are available for crystals and planets.

Website, World and Game Engine now all have their basic version done and integrated with each other. The localization mechanism and templates for all target languages has also been completed.

I spent the past two weeks refactoring and standardizing the different components of the project and added an easy way to localize everything at the same time (tested with Russian and Mandarin).
I also developed the first version of the world engine and integrated it with the website.

Knowledge has been renamed to Worldbuilding and I culled some articles. I will rewrite all of them better in the future.

The game will be developed in two concurrent tracks:
1) A game engine with a text-based interface to develop the game loop and mechanics and quickly iterate on ideas. It will probably be available on the Dragonbane Creation website for free.
2) A fully-fledged 3D version that will be sold through Steam.
Some other parts of the engine such as a character creator, 3D procedural generation or settlement generators may also be available as tools.
I am thinking about having the possibility to mint characters/worlds/cities as STX NFTs but I do not see the point yet.
Decentralized shareable standardized procedural worlds seem like a revolutionary idea but I do not see yet how to execute on this idea.

SEO and some elements of the layout required some last touches. Performance bugs also had to be resolved. The tarot generator has also been reformatted and consumes ~30% less data now.
I continued exploring the concept of ancient ruins but there is nothing of interest to show or to make a video yet.

Seems like am interesting concept for entrances. Not really for the ancient civilization but maybe human temples carved in mountains.
As a side note, maybe a text-based version of the game will be available first to quickly iterate on ideas for the gameplay and develop more advanced mechanisms. It would use concept arts as illustrations.

2) Some part of Humanity fled because they had the choice between staying as slaves and fleeing to live free.

Working on the ancient ruins first seems to be the best way to proceed. It will be the foundation of what the world represents and combine working on the foundation principles for the worlds such as the founding spiritual principles, the magic systems and physical laws.

The first step of creating a world is to create the boundaries of the world by defining the two extremes of the 1st and 7th densities.
This creates the rules everything else in the world has to follow (see Genesis for example).
The probable next step is to define densities 2 and 6 and so on but this needs to be validated with experience.

1) premade non-modular
2) pre-rendered modular
3) programmatically modular
2) seems to be the most interesting option and give the best of both worlds.
I don't see how completely modular character or spaceships can achieve a cinematographic look.

Announcing the first Dragonbane Creation game.
Dragonbane Creation: Dawn (working title) will be a 3D next-generation PC game available on Steam.
Players will explore a rich procedurally-generated world through an immersive cinematic experience. Every playthrough will be different and feature meaningful choices in interconnected stories.
The game will use a new custom browser-based engine designed to simulate complex fractal interactions between agents and groups of agents. The game engine will be reused and improved for future games.
The visual style of the game will be simplified and stylized 3D designed to give a cinematic experience and render complex scenes.
Artificial Intelligence will not be used for any part of the project except potentially for text-to-speech generation.
The game may also be available online in browsers as a Web3 game if it can benefit from smart contracts.
Development of the game, world and engine will be simultaneous and public.
