I'll just say that the definition for hypertension gets updated to lower and lower values every ~15 years or so. Used to be that a systolic BP of over 140 was considered hypertensive and an indication to treat, but now...
The AHA, which is probably the most corrupt health organization in America, has decided that a BP over 130 is hypertensive and should be treated. As a rule, it is probably best to ignore what the AHA has to say, since it is more of a marketing arm of pharmaceutical companies than a real medical organization. I would treat all the medical doctors working for them as prostitutes.

You shouldn't trust anyone, ever. The average health podcaster has no idea what they are talking about, yet they are quite confident in their (lack of) knowledge.
Probably easy for me to talk since I am a doctor, so I can smell the bullshit, but any person owes it to themselves to verify information. People should get comfortable using pubmed and get educated on how to verify medical information.
1. Always search for RCTs and Systematic reviews of RCTs, observational studies CANNOT establish a causal link.
2. Always make sure to read the proposed effect size. If the RR of an observational study is 1.2, just ignore it and continue living your life (that's the correlation between LDL and heart disease btw). Anything under 2 is simply not worth your time.
3. Always check who funded and authored the study. I ignore any nutritional study, no matter its supposed quality, published by Loma Linda university because those people have a religious goal with promoting vegetarianism.
4. Don't trust any new drug studies, always wait for at least ~7years before taking any new drug seriously. 7 years is the average time it takes to recall a dangerous drug from the market.
5. Be very skeptical about large effect claims and surrogate markers. I don't care if a diabetic drug improves glycemic control if people die more frequently while taking it or if the mortality rate remains the same.
I recommend reading Malcolm Kendrick's book "Doctoring Data" and "Deadly Medicines and Organised Crime" by P. Gotzsche to learn more.
It is essential for the person to understand that medical research and medicine in general has been completely corrupted by pharmaceutical companies and governmental regulators. It is better to assume deception while reading a research study than honesty.

What changed my mind was that I used to be fat, but then out of desperation I wanted to try out carnivore (I really, really never liked vegetables).
I have a biomedical background, so I was programmed to hate keto, for no good reason. I also repeatedly did the calorie counting thing, succeeded only once before yo-yoing back to obesity.
See, what they don't tell you about calorie counting is that it is a miserable existence. Sure, starting out with an 1800 kcal goal will make you lose weight, but in a month that will go down to 1600, then I had to maintain a 1300 kcal intake just to not gain weight. Our bodies really, really dislike losing stored fat, especially if insulin constantly remains high due to ultraprocessed garbage food they give us.

Yes, Jewish people were famous and successful money lenders, circumstances and european antisemitism made it so. Jews were not permitted to own property. People would die on diabetic wards because their families would smuggle in fruit. Of course it is better to eat berries than candy, but it is just less bad, and you can absolutely get diabetes and fatty liver by eating too much fruit. I actually treated a diabetic patient who complained his HbA1C wouldn't go down despite eating 2lbs of apples a day (he eliminated candy, after all).
People on carnivore get better because: a) their insulin levels drop to low enough levels to enable fat loss, b) they get rid of all the harmful plant antinutrients they may be sensitive to, and yes, of course, c) getting rid of seed oils. They are satiated, and have good nutrition for once in their life since meat is the most nutritious food we have.
It is so exhausting talking about nutrition, everybody has an opinion about everything, and there is little strong scientific data backing for anything. Well, except of course that saturated fats don't cause heart disease lol. Whatever works for you - I'm glad and keep it up. Unless it's vegan, then you're bound to have terrible consequences.

This is a very important systematic review of thr literature. To sum up - saturated fatty acids do NOT cause heart disease, and in some cases don't even increase LDL; replacement of satturated with polyunsarurated fatty acids (oils) doesn't reduce cardiovascular risk, despite lowering LDL.

There is no marker of gut bacteria health. We know next to nothing about the gut microbiome. For example, the fact that they influence the brain is a relatively recent discovery and hasn't even fully penetrated the establishment.
That being said, my guess is that the gut reacts the best to fatty meat. The bacteria break down almost all the nutrients they require to short chain fatty acids anyway.
Also, regarding the uric acid (urate actually) and kidney stones. 75% of kidney stones are calcium oxalate, so urate stones are a minority of stones. It has been common knowledge in medicine for decades now that blood urate levels correlate to urate stone and gout incidence, but no causal link has been established (i.e. a person with very high urate levels might never form urate stones or develop gout). It is why alopurinol, a drug that lowers urate levels, should never be prescribed for lowering urate levels in people who never had gout or urate stones.
What is necessary for urate crystals to form in the body is inflammation. So, even though red meat increases urate levels a bit, it is not itself inflammatory. This is why carnivores usually report a drastic improvement of gout symptoms when adhering to a strict red meat diet.
What else increases urate levels? Fructose is exclusively metabolized in the liver, which produces urate. Since sugary processed foods, which are also rich in seed oils, are also highly inflammatory, you get the golden recipe for gout and urate kidney stones. The metabolization of alcohol also produces urate and inflammation, so people who have gout issues should cease all alcohol and junk food consumption. Instead of saying that, however, most of my ignorant colleagues recommend reducing red meat consumption, which is contraindicated for humans.

The human body is not a steam engine, it reacts to all stimuli. You don't need to constantly measure electrolytes or keep track of every single micronutrient you consume. Hunger is a physiologic response to a lack of food, and seeking salty foods is also a physiologic response to a possible lack of sodium. If the body doesn't get enough sodium, which can happen during starvation for example, you will actually secrete very little sodium through the urine. Human physiology is simply amazing like that.
Salt is sodium chloride, both of which are utilized by the body. Potassium can be found in meat, but its concentration is very tightly regulated by the body. Magnesium, calcium and other elements can be obtained mostly from... water, which might be a problem in some areas admittedly. Ancient humans had to worry about parasites, but water pollution, not so much.
Salting is especially important during the initial phases of any ketogenic diet because a rapid insulin decrease leads to an increase in the loss of sodium through the kidneys. This is known as 'keto flu' and can be avoided with salting to taste and drinking regular water.

Potassium is the most abundant intracellular cation in the human body, I would assume it is abundant in all other animal cells as well. Supplementing potassium is also not something I would recommend to anyone without medical supervision considering that a) it can cause (sometimes fatal) heart arrhythmia, and b) it is very tightly regulated, both directly and indirectly, by the kidneys.

Haven't gotten around to writing a better response, but for now I will say that eating carbs and fat together is contraindicated as it leads to Randle cycle activation and subsequent inflammation. Eat your carbs and fats separately, always. This is why junk food and the standard american diet (SAD) is so harmful to the body.

All sugar is biochemically identical. Complex carbohydrates get fairly easily broken down into monosaccharides. It all metabolizes into glucose which is metabolized in most tissue due to insulin activity; except fructose, which is only metabolized in the liver directly into fat, which leads to fatty liver disease (and also gout indirectly), which is the second leading cause of liver cirrhosis and liver transplantation in the US and the EU.
There is no biochemical pathway relating sex hormone synthesis and glucose. Honey does not improve insulin sensitivity, that is utter nonsense which makes no logical sense and I don't care what studies are made about it.
Fruit today is completely different to prehistoric fruit, which was smaller, more fibrous and only available for a brief period of time of the year (ice age and all). Honey was available if you were willing to risk injury to obtain it, which people would do on occasion since sugar is addictive and hyperpalatable. You can also consume alcohol with joy, but it is still poison to the body.
We're also descended from omnivorous apes and there simply was no negative evolutionary pressure to knock out molars or an entire metabolic pathway dedicated to metabolizing carbs. Humans were very opportunistic eaters, but they would always prefer to eat meat compared to plant food, as shown by anthropologic studies.
