Perhaps I am just old (likely) but it seems like mainstream American country and western music peaked in the 1990's.
There are a few standouts these days but most of it is just pop music with a twang or borderline racist/misogynist lyrics.
I miss the old days when the biggest issues were having too much to drink or watching a loved one leave. 😢

I finally got a chance to sit down without the kids and watch The Northman today.
The scenery is astounding. It's just a beautiful movie to watch. However, be prepared for some gruesome scenes. The whole movie just has an intensity that doesn't let up.

RSUs are like shares that are set aside for you and you get them as soon as the vesting date hits (minus some sold to cover taxes).
ESPP programs allow you to buy stock at a discount.
RSUs are automatic (you don't do anything). The others require some actions to be taken on your end.

@npub1ph4…0p39 I've seen reports that brand new Ford Broncos and Jeep Grand Cherokees are landing on auction lots with the new car dealer tags *still on the car*.
This happens often with used cars, but rarely with new ones.
As Brandon notes in the video, repos are common, but not this many from so many large banks.

@npub1ph4…0p39 The problem here is that the market is so saturated and MSRPs are so high that dealers are sending *new inventory* to auction houses (and losing money in the process).
Dealers are paying higher and higher interest from holding cars on their lot, their customers can't get loans from the banks, they keep adding markups to recoup lost profits, and manufacturers keep raising MSRPs.

If you want to be depressed about going out to US restaurants for dinner, just take an experienced #keto dieter with you.
At most restaurants, I end up gravitating towards the salads because I can usually spot the #carb heavy ingredients.
Even with a basic salad, you still have to watch out for sugary dressings. 🤦‍♂️

MSRP is much too high already and customers aren't interested.
Ford is dealing with *tons* of people backing out of their Lightning allocations.

Also, some manufacturers are producing EVs that customers/dealers don't want, such as Wranglers and Lightning pickups.
Dealers can't move vehicles due to sky high markups, banks holding back loans, high interest rates, and family budget pressures.
Something must give eventually or we're going to see a lot of dealers going out of business.

Most things I read say "get an LG but you're rolling the dice on cooling" followed by "get GE". LG marketing arm is strong.

This hit me hard after college as I was in a situation with plenty of credit card debt, a terrible job, and I wanted to avoid moving back in with the parents at all costs.
To be fair, I *did* have something to fall back on, but I avoided it at all costs.
Many people have nothing to fall back on and that definitely changes the way you think.

Before you chastise people for their financial decisions, remember that the deck is often stacked against them.
Not everyone has the skills to analyze the impacts of these financial products and financial institutions are *more than happy* to gloss over those details when it comes time to sign.

Sell the car? It's upside down, which means you owe more than it's worth.
Pay down the car loan so you can get to work? Well, there's no money to pay your mortgage then.

They also bought a car during the pandemic because their older one had issues. Dealers charged high markups on cars during this time and they paid over invoice for the car.
Well, now the bank calls and says "Your loan's LTV exceeds 90% and that's too risky. You need to pay down your loan today to reduce your risk or we will come get the car."
LTV = loan-to-value. If the car is worth $50K, the bank will only loan you $45K for it.

Let's consider a family that bought a home in the last 4-5 years. These homes had sky high prices.
To afford it, a family goes for an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) and they get a payment that fits in their budget, but doesn't leave much wiggle room.
Now interest rates are towering over 7% and their mortgage could have gone up $500, $1000, or maybe more per month. Ouch.

Uh, I'd jump at the chance to buy direct from the manufacturer just like I do for other items. I'd absolutely love to avoid the dealer middleman and get a menu price.
Toyota did this with Scion a while back and it was the easiest, lowest stress car purchase I've ever made. I picked options, got a total, signed the sheet and that was it. My car showed up in 6 weeks just like I built it.

Many of you said "running slower is harder and it will make you faster" and I didn't believe it. I'm starting to believe it now. 🎽
I tried my hardest to run as slow as I possibly could.
I burned about 5% more calories, finished a little sooner than usual, and did all that in a heat index of 115°F/46°C. I felt out of breath maybe 3-4 times but that usually happens 10+ times in this heat.
Run slower!

#Toyota has a massive lag on getting vehicles onto dealer lots for purchase. If you're looking for a #4Runner, the stats are like these:
At dealer: 791
Port to dealer: 166
Factory to port: 1,011
These are vehicles that are not pre-sold or being held by a dealer for sale.
