Tried both the alby addon and this alby hub, but I can't even get the login to work properly, as the confirmation works through email and I never receive the email message with a login code.
Even when creating a new account or logging in through lighting, I get this after the initial login.
"Due to security and usability updates on our platform please use your email to login."
When creating a brand new account (I think I've made like 10 by now), the captcha stuff is so cumbersome that I just gave up after 5 mins.
The onboarding is "not ideal".

Overview
Entropy Seed Phrase Poker generates cryptographically secure seed phrases using a card-drawing game powered by high-quality randomness. It combines two decks (blue and orange) to map card pairs to words from the BIP-39 wordlist, ensuring robust entropy for secure seed phrases (11 or 23 words).
Randomness Source
The system primarily uses LavaRand, which fetches randomness from Cloudflare's drand (distributed randomness) service, pulling 173 rounds of 32-byte randomness for high entropy. If drand fails, it falls back to crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator in modern browsers, ensuring uninterrupted operation.
Rejection Sampling
To ensure unbiased random numbers, the system employs rejection sampling in the getRandomInt function. It discards random bytes that would bias the result (e.g., for a max value of 10, it rejects bytes ≥ 250 to avoid modulo bias), guaranteeing uniform distribution for card selection and word mapping.
Shuffling Algorithm
The decks are shuffled using the Fisher-Yates (Knuth) shuffle, an unbiased algorithm that rearranges cards randomly. Each shuffle uses LavaRand or fallback randomness to determine swap indices, ensuring every permutation is equally likely. Two instances of decks are maintained, with pre-shuffling to optimize performance.
Card-to-Word Mapping
The blue deck (32 cards: 8 ranks × 4 suits) and orange deck (64 cards: 13 ranks × 4 suits + 12 "X" cards) produce 2048 possible pairs (32 × 64). Each pair is mapped to a BIP-39 word (2048 words) via a modulo operation: pairIndex = blueIndex * 64 + orangeIndex, then wordIndex = pairIndex % 2048. This ensures each draw selects a word uniformly.
Entropy Calculation
Each BIP-39 word represents 11 bits of entropy (log₂(2048) = 11). For an 11-word seed, the total entropy is 121 bits; for 23 words, it’s 253 bits. The entropy is displayed as wordCount * log₂(2048), rounded to the nearest integer, reflecting the cryptographic strength of the seed phrase.
Checksum and Security
The Calculate Checksum feature validates seed phrases by computing a SHA-256 hash of the word indices’ binary representation, using the first few bits as a checksum (per BIP-39). The system wipes sensitive data (seed phrase, randomness buffer) from memory when requested, enhancing security.
Technical Notes
The application runs over HTTPS to protect data in transit. Users are warned if accessed over HTTP (except localhost). The UI supports light/dark modes, and the code is open-source on GitHub for transparency and verification. For best practice you can download (control-s) save as... the html page to run it locally. Or use the manual version of this page that relies on physical card shuffles you can perform yourself.

If the only thing you’re known for is hustling a referral link to a conference, that’s honestly kinda pathetic.
They don't promote things (unless it's their own little niche club, and even then it's rather mute).
In the end, it's all a way to score some free tickets to a conference where the same 10 people will stand on stage probably...
(more people in bitcoin should call out stuff to better the space instead of applauding anything that just promotes itself and has no substantial impact)

I feel you, and thank you for speaking your mind.
It always bugged me that the real support (like: real!) often comes from a few people in the shadows (if at all). (or even sh**coiners, who sometimes act more like bitcoiners than some rats in the bitcoin community, who only take and take, never do anything, unless they get a free meal or a free ticket out of it.
The funding of a lot of good people and good projects is mostly dismal.
The V4V model is broken as f (and when you honestly do your story about that, the people get shunned or banned outright by "the suits").
The sad part that bitcoin often attracts people who still don't get it. And rather send Peter Shiff some bitcoin from their vanity address than supporting people that matter and build, or do whatever it takes for bitcoin.
I'm seeing more and more people just "writing books" (even people who don't have anything to tell other than "buy my stuff"), while others can't even scrape together enough money to make a living.
And yes, we're all supposed to be "rich" and "sitting on a stash". But most don't. And it's hopeful that people like you dare to speak up, only this way can a community grow and do something more than thinking "pump my bags".

You write a blogpost: censored by X in the algorythm, since it's on substack , almost no one sees the post.
You share the same content on highlighter / nostr platform : no one clicks it nor reacts. Since it had no nice picture in it.
You share it again, this time with a nicely generated picture you've made with a paid servive for better results: 2 people click it. No reactions.
You buy a sub. to a podcast engine and you create a podcast with two voices and a new bullitin.
+80 downloads, no reaction.
You release it on a podcast v2 platform, but no one listens through that platform in Belgium, they don't get it. And in their mind, that's the only platform you're on ... so they don't know Fountain app and they don't click it.
So you share the links to all the other platforms as well, and you create a separate page where you share all the links to spotify and so on...
No one cares.
So you write another blogpost and since it's "too long" (it's a long-read format), you add a professionaly made audio recording of the podcast/blog so people don't have to read and can just listen to it on the go.
9 people open it.
The reach on nostr, X and BluseSky together is always under 10 hits.
So... people tell me "hey man, why don't you make youtube videos in English".
"Because I have a podcast, not a youtube channel or so. I do audio only for a reason: if people want to listen to the content anyway, they can do so without seeing me sitting behind a microphone".
So... here we are.
3 years podcasting for the Belgian audience. And I can safely say that the 100 or so of core audience is reached.
And I won't be a reply-guy spammer either.
It is what it is. A dismal state of affairs in a country where you're a pariah whenever you try to do something independent.

- bitcoin is scarce, hard money
- you can get a seedphrase securely and keeping it offline at all times
- fiat is a scheme of power and greed, shortsighted and repetitive
- build, advance and innovate with your talent

"rather that they have not been immediately successful in" (eh, I've destroyed half my time and brain for this for years so... "immediate success" is not a factor here imho. And self-serving? "their position is questionable and likely self-serving" -->
eh, well, I leave that to people who know me, on how self-serving I am.
"Bitcoin makes it easier and is borderless" --> agree, so it should have a big advantage
The mix of monetization is nice, and I'd be happy to accept fiat as well indeed, I'll look into possibilities to make it more of a mix between the 100% free stuff I do, to maybe 40% free and the rest paid "content".
Or I might just quit interely and be done with being called self-serving, shady or other things I'm not. If I would be self-server I would shill you a shitcoin every single week.

About the #travelrule in Europe.
A rant to end the year.
Close to no one actually seems to care.
Three years ago, my podcast started because the first proposals for this law were being worked on in the EU Commission.
Since then, only a handful of people have reacted.
The rest just shrugged it off with some nonsense like, "I'll be outside the EU by then," or even worse: "Who cares? Some tech mumbo jumbo will solve it if you run 15 tools and use 15 compiled solutions that only 100 nerds really understand."
This is about our entire Bitcoin space being overrun by middlemen selling lies, bullshit, shitcoin casinos, credit cards backed by venture capitalist garbage, or even worse: untested solutions or toy-grade hardware wallets with buggy software or attached middleman services.
And now our main man, Jack Mallers, whose company rolls over to deliver the EU the Strike honeypot data by implementing the travel rule?

taking a huge shitstorm online a few years ago for unilaterally implementing the #travelrule, but now... hardly anyone reacts.
Yes, I get it—you can’t expect a bigger company to just ignore the law and continue without repercussions. But the Strike app is no longer an onboarding tool (we saw this coming, of course). Still, try onboarding someone to Bitcoin in Europe after January 1, 2025, and it’s either going to be:
KYC + criminalization + high taxes and a mountain of paperwork,
or
Just tell them, "Don’t bother with Bitcoin. It’s over. We live in the European Union—you should move elsewhere if you want freedom."
The fact that Europeans aren’t even organizing a single protest, a single act of defiance, or any resistance is telling of the sort of total patsies we’ve become. I see no end to this.
We now live in a totalitarian state as of January 1, 2025.
We should either resist or run.
But resistance at this point requires many brave people to stand up, instead of wasting time on Netflix or TikTok.
Unfortunately, for many of us, running is not an option or a desired outcome.
The travel rule is here, and for me personally, it feels like defeat—while the ones I should be fighting alongside in the trenches are rolling over like trained poodles.

In short: division of internet influence areas, combined with price anticipation triggered opportunity for supply chain stuff. Some companies rely on chip manufacturing that changed hands last tO years. Also, in general, too many brands in the market, and hardly anyone earns their keep.

Nothing really. Imho all wallets suck atm.
I need to use them unfortunately, but there's a lot of funds lost b/cbif the totally ubtested, incompatible and bad UI stuff out there.
