Interesting way of looking at it. I'm mining for heat as a hobby, with an S17 and an S9... they're efficient heaters and there's the novelty of few sats reward each day. I admit that I didn't buy the dip. I also didn't think about selling. I wasn't bothered either way.
I'm sure that half the people saying they bought the dip are faking for attention, and the other half are either referring to a preplanned DCA or disclosing an earlier purchase. (Which by the way is what all the institutions are doing, buying long ago but just getting round to telling you now, which is why the price comes down a bit not up, because it's a signal that significant buy pressure has passed and now it's bragging season).
From the energy of the notes on here... cheap sats, sweet prices, bitcoin on sale, buy the dip... you'd think plebs were liquidating thousands of dollars in assets just to grab that extra stash at a massive discount. As if they'd been waiting for this dip like NPCs wait for Black Friday.
A few plebs will hop on to their favourite app and acquire $50 worth of sats to back up their brag. I used to do that but I decided to stop larping a couple of years back. If I buy, I buy. If I sell, I sell. If I spend, I spend.
Just relax. If you missed the dip then carry on as planned, don't be nudged either way.

The company formerly known as MicroStrategy is leveraged, centralised, and dependent on capital markets.
While Saylor himself can make choices like "if Bitcoin goes to $1 I'd just load up with more", the company itself can't. A collapsing stock price would force them to sell.
$MSTR is a leveraged financial product wrapped in Bitcoin marketing. While the company holds an impressive 500,000 BTC, it also holds $8bn in debt. Overall, the stock price is at a massive premium to its Bicoin holdings. That premium doesn't reflect the amazing forward value of what the company does besides Bitcoin. So that's a gaping risk.
We want the 'playbook' to succeed, because we want to see adoption by another few million companies on the road to hyperbitcoinization. But when this backfires it could have the opposite effect, putting corporate treasury play on ice for a decade or more.
The volatility in the stock price benefits hedge funds in the short term. Volatility with liquidity, exactly what they need to lubricate their trades. The infinite money glitch sounds great but so far only tested in a bull market. If the stock price can no longer be pumped higher than its bitcoin holdings then the momentum runs out and it starts to roll backwards.
Remember, convertible bonds have a floor price. If stock crashes below this price, holders demand payment. If the company can't raise capital it must sell Bitcoin. Distressed sale compounds the downward cycle. Especially as there's no clear correlation as to what drives Bitcoin's price... it doesn't care about $MSTR any more than it cares about anything else.
Up forever Laura applies to Bitcoin itself on a long time horizon that smooths out the volatility in the rear view mirror. Many of us are here for that and we don't need gigachad marketing to inspire us. Bitcoin is enough.
But Laura needs to understand that what applies to Bitcoin doesn't apply to $MSTR. These things are not equivalent, they are entirely different categories, different species. If $MSTR does enter a death spiral when we eventually tip into a real bear market, there's no guarantee it will recover, not even with Saylor's supremely confident utterances about hornets and the goddess of wisdom.
Ask your yourself, if there is no second best, then why are you still playing around with $MSTR? Even, and especially, in your pension funds and long term investments.
In fact, Bitcoin may yet humble Saylor for his leveraged plays and fiat shitcoinery, as it has humbled thousands of others. And in doing so, it may yet humble you.
Get ahead by staying humble and just stacking sats. By design, that's the only viable long term play that Bitcoin tolerates or rewards.

How exactly does he use Bitcoin for this goal?
Assuming he has a stack, does he sell this down to pay expenses for the number of years they're homeschooling? If so, how big does that stack need to be, and can they live with the regret of having a much smaller stack in say 10 years time?
Now if he can live on a bitcoin standard already, earning in bitcoin and spending in bitcoin, without tax implications, then perhaps that's a different story. But guys trying to make it with a bitcoin business are still in a precarious position, and probably still working night and day as if working two fiat jobs. At least that's impression they all give me if I email them for support.
Using bitcoin to generate more bitcoin, or more fiat to convert to bitcoin, well that's an investment... maybe buying a business or share of one, or some real estate on which yield can be earned... that gives income now, but then he misses the boat when trying to buy back into the corn. And most lend or borrow against your corn schemes are untested or scammy.
So it's a dilemma that I wrestle with often... while I work two jobs so my wife can homeschool our kids another eight years or so.

Preflood civilization was a different scale to ours. Got so 'advanced', including genetic tampering, that it needed a reset.
I imagine Noah to have been a self-sovereign off-grid leave me alone kind of guy, still faithful to God while the rest of society went to the dogs. It took years to build that ark as a project because he was resourcing it himself, perhaps already excluded from buying and selling in their equivalent of Babylon.
Preflood humans lived longer, were probably healthier, and certainly compounded knowledge better and faster than we're doing today. Adam walked with God... subsequent generations were taught skills by angels, people had time to see projects through. Genetic tampering late in that period probably yielded a race of giant hybrids - the transhumanism of its day - compelled to serve human masters until they rebelled. Very similar narratives to our fears of AI & Robot takeover today.
Remember, it only took a couple of hundred years for the recent tech explosion to take place. A century of slow science followed by two centuries of exploitatio through engineering and technology. Not hard to imagine how quickly preflood humanity reached and surpassed this point, crossing all sorts of boundaries. Most people agree that nuclear fusion was a genie that we would rather hadn't come out of the bottle. Genetic engineering in the hands of eugenecists another genie. Maybe we'll reach a tipping point with AI, and realise our worst fears. Only this time the bible isn't warning about repercussions, it's saying that our return to such madness is just a sign of the end.
God's plan to redeem the world through Christ would have been prematurely derailed with the destruction of all humanity at the time of the flood. That a family survived and bridged the old and new worlds... and that their fragile clan grew to repopulate the earth... is itself remarkable.
But now Christ has risen from the dead, and is already at the right hand of the throne in heaven, waiting for the signal to wrap things up here and begin the golden age. After two thousand years of invitation and opportunity, there's nothing obliging him to keep things going indefinitely. This life feels like the main event for most of us, but it's an annoying prelude to the real thing as far as heaven is concerned.
I believe all these ancient alien type clues around the earth, advanced energy systems, mega structures, perfected engineering and construction... all signs of an advanced human civilization living "in the days of Noah"... challenging our preconceived ideas about the nature of that generation and the purpose of the cataclysmic judgement that came. As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be when the Son of Man (a title for Jesus) returns to the earth.

Yeah I feel I reached saturation point with bitcoin podcasts, newsletters, channels, feeds, blogs, books, and half-baked product launches. Along with all the immediately adjacent stuff like prepping, regen, austrian, and so on.
Maybe it's because I've been consuming for seven years and feel my goodwill hasn't been rewarded with a growth or maturing to quality that I expected. Everything's still half-assed but 'please support because bitcoin'.
As per other posters this week, we've also lost sight of our bitcoiner values too soon, so everything in this space feels directionless, while we wait for $1m bitcoin to make us all richer, and a few entrepreneurs sell us shovels along the way.

You're taking this far too seriously. We're putting memes out there that converge with other memes to create more complex memes that eventually tip reality. We make outrageous speculations about price and somehow these materialise... a few years later than we hoped, but slow and steady wins the race. We predict the downfall of current financial order and they seem to oblige us by printing to infinity and misplacing the gold. It's all surreal and also quite fun.
We're also psychos that converted unhealthy amounts of old system money into magic internet money to affirm our beliefs and focus our attention. There's loads of holes in the arguments out there but that's all fine, as long as you stay alive, out of jail, and in possession of your private keys... it'll all work out one day soon enough. The more earnest among us worry about wrench attacks and government going full retard with a 6102. But mostly we just distract ourselves with chants like

I've been a maxi for a few years now, we're all fanatical about something, might as well be Bitcoin. If nothing else, it gives me the illusion of control in an otherwise chaotic world, and a framework to improve my life in the meantime.
If price ever did go to zero or I lost the coins, the intangible value I have already obtained more than compensates that loss. Money isn't everything. It creates opportunities for sure. But life is what I am living today.

Yes! It's a brave article in this day and age, but biblically it's common sense.
First, we're not in the old testament era between the flood and the cross. If we were then there's a stronger argument about covenant promises preserving the nation until the birth of the Messiah. And yes, even then, blessing and protection were conditioned on repentance, humility, faith, and a general tearing down of systemic idolatry as part of 'returning to the Lord'. The first prayer was therefore always of repentance, and this needed to be on a national level not just by a faithful remnant (even though God often softened the blow for the sake of the remnant)
Second, since we are long after the cross, resurrection, and ascension of Christ, it is essential to grasp how the apostles interpreted the old testament as they were living out and writing down the new testament. Many today act like the new testament is an awkward parentheses between the real business of the old testament and "life after 1948/1967". This is jewish capture of new testament doctrine, and through it, the american mind.
Third, the new testament makes it very clear that salvation for the Jew comes the same way as salvation for the Gentile, by way of the cross. The apostles got constant flak from 'the Judaizers'... there was no compatibility between the Gospel and 'Judaism Without Yeshua'. In the first half of Acts, the Church is entirely made up of Jewish people who believed that Jesus Christ was the missing piece of their religion... the Servant, the Branch, the King, the Priest of a new order of Melchizedek, the Son at the right hand of the Majesty in the heavens, the Prophet who completed the law (yes Deuteronomy taught that the law as given couldn't save because they still needed the words of 'the Prophet' to complete it, so they had the full story).
Fourth, Yeshua made three prophecies. First, he would die and rise again on the third day. Second that Jerusalem and its temple would be utterly destroyed (and replaced by his body, the church, as the temple of living stones as a habitation of God in the Spirit), and third that he would come back to earth on a much longer time horizon, as king to take possession of what belongs to him. The epistles unpack all this beautifully. So Jesus is confirmed as the Prophet by rising from the dead and by the sign of Jerusalem's destruction within a generation. That along with the timings of Daniel's prophecy and other signs meant the end of the old (not a temporary pause) and the beginning of a glorious new in which Jew and gentile leave their baggage at the four and enter in to worship in Spirit and truth.
Fifth, if there is any praying at all for the modern 'Babylon' construction of Israel, upheld so faithfully by the US as head of the current world order, it is only for their blindness to be lifted so that they can turn away from the idolatry of Rabbinical Judaism, Political Zionism, Mystical Kabbalah, B'nai Berit Masonry, or just good old fashioned Western Hedonism... and turn to Christ. Again, this is what the apostles taught and prayed... not fooled by hybrids of 'Judaism and Jesus', or modifications to Hellenistic Judaism with virtues 'like what Jesus taught'. No, there would be no diluting or mingling of the Gospel into new syncretic forms.
Sixth, there is no positive future for the state of Israel in God's economy. The Jews are saved like us through Jesus. Babylon is however horribly destroyed by the rising federation of nations that will eventually cede their power to a single leader - identified as anti Christ. This person will persecute Christian because we do not bow to him as god-emperor. And soon enough Jesus will return to settle that score.
The whole state of Israel thing is a construct, but so deeply ingrained by dispensationalism bleeding into nationalism, and kept alive because the territory of Israel is strategic for a foothold in the Middle East.
