I like video games, programming languages, and hacking things up with old video game hardware. I also post a lot about TV I'm watching, and sometimes books I'm reading too.

At my day job I hack on dev tools for a moonshot operating system, and I think Plan 9 is cool. I've also worked on social networks, streaming, and low level network software in the past at companies big and small.

Used to stream on twitch (as megmactv) but don't really anymore.

Anything I say here is 1000% my own opinion and probably no one, including any employers I have or have had in the past agree with me.

Urban planning people I am *begging* you not to use beg buttons at any crosswalk. Just never do it. If pedestrians can cross that street always light up the walk signal when pedestrians can cross.
I guarantee not doing that has killed people.

Trekkies/trekkers (do people still consider these distinct terms? We're all old now..) are really prone to saying stuff about how they wish star trek would move forward rather than backwards in the timeline. They want to see more of the "post-Dominion War era."
Personally I really want the opposite. I want a show set between First Contact and Enterprise. On earth. Showing some kind of vision of how we get out of *this* mess.
I feel starved for hopeful visions of our own future.

It honestly makes me a bit sad that no matter how much he attempts to convey information to me through an excited cacophony of meowing and tail twitching, I will never truly understand what is so exciting to my cat about sitting in the bathroom with me while I pee.
