There shouldn’t be an audience at the upcoming presidential debates. An audience only encourages a performative experience, mainly consisting of Trump baiting the audience with outrageous or bombastic quips. The mics should also cut off when time limits are up and whenever the other candidate is speaking. This would prevent interruptions and might force the speakers to be more pointed and concise. I’m always on the hunt for handy guides for the perfect cup of pour over coffee. Here’s a useful coffee-to-water ratio chart for the pour over brewing method for standard ratios of 1:15 through 1:17. Adjust grind size to medium (I.e., a tad finer than kosher salt). If too sour, grind a bit finer. My friends in Sweden aren’t up to their eyeballs in income tax return prep right now. In fact, right now they’re on a beach in New Caledonia near Australia on a 2-month vacay. They told me that since their government already has most of the info needed to complete their tax returns, they just have to review it and add minimal additional info before signing off on it. Two of my Swiss friends had their Instagram accounts hacked. I found this out when someone else posing as each of them started separate chats in French in Instagram’s Messenger. The hackers 1st asked for my help. Then it escalated to asking for my cell phone no. to help them receive a code to unlock their accounts. Then, the hacker asked for my bank card number (!). I immediately deleted the chats & notified my friends, who confirmed that they’d been hacked. Beware! Hackers are ruthless.

I have to get this off my chest. After the collapse of Reconstruction, Black people were forbidden to sing the US national anthem under Jim Crow laws. So, 121 years ago my forebears composed their own “negro national anthem”, LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING. I grew up hearing my older relatives sing this anthem and never thought much about it, and I certainly never thought it was a threat to the STAR-SPANGLED BANNER. If they can sing AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL before a game, why not this anthem too?

If some photojournalist (such as Frank Thorpe) could surreptitiously take some photos of TFG ‘au naturel’ — without hair dye, face bronzer, comb-over and abdominal blubber-obscuring baggy suit jacket with red tie ensemble — and then published them, after the immediate revulsion wore off, we would all see that “the emperor has no clothes”. Biden doesn’t use such subterfuges and gets penalized for it. Pundits say, well, TFG has more “energy”, even though it’s all based on wardrobe and make-up.
