I switched my wifi to Unifi a few months ago (didn't find a free unit), but it took a while to switch everything over but it was worth it - wifi is now way more stable.
I like the fact I can now have each wifi network on separate vlans

A pistorm lite arrived this morning, so might spend some time later this week getting it installed in my Amiga A1200, replacing the 68030 accelerator I currently have in it.
One question for the community though, I have an SSD on the IDE interface already, so I presume it's easy to get it to use that rather than the pi's SD card for the boot drive?
What I've read so far, the guides show using the SD card instead & I'd rather keep the ssd

it depends on what hash tags they add.

I just got around to trying it:

And a queue bound to receive it got the message with 75 as the payload.
Was simpler than I thought it would be.
NB: I'm using RabbitMQ here with MQTT enabled but it worked just fine

yes, but the image above also shows the interaction with the receiver's public key and the (random) session key pair.
I think that's where both of us are getting confused.
I've always used two pairs, one client & one server.
When encrypting a single value it's always been a one way encryption, eg you can't decode it - eg passwords

no as it's still using 2 sets of keys, just that the sender uses a unique pair for each message.
So it encrypts the message with it's private key & encrypts it's key with the receiver's public key.
The receiver then decodes the encoded key with the receiver's private key then the data with that key.
That said, it might be possible with a single key, but I need to refresh/re-read is that's possible.

yes, but the priv key is needed to encrypt.
The pub key is used when sending to another system.
The other system has its own pair, so both sides exchange public keys then they can encrypt/decrypt as they can then use their private keys.
Not certain you can do that with just a single key pair, eg the public key can't be used to encrypt.
I might be wrong but not seen that in use anywhere

I tried k8s years ago & it trashed the machine I tried running it on.
I do use containers a lot but I've found the basic docker to just work.
I suppose I should try it again at some point but I think it's just more complexity than some systems need - or just hype

I have to say I never had issues with the quota. 10Tb was plenty even with the unused carrying over to the next month as I rarely hit 1.5Tb a month & that was with a lot of streaming & work stuff.

Well that's a first.
Just had to try to kick a door down in the pub - due to someone being locked in.
Tried unlocking the bolt from outside but it just rotated so the lock was broken.
The manager tried but she didn't get enough power to break it.
I tried but forgot Newton's first law & went backwards instead.
Another member of staff managed to break the lock.

that's why I went this way, it's all in hardware as I found OBS wasn't stable enough for me.
That said I did use OBS for this before, it can expose the program output locally so zoom etc can take the feed - at least on Linux.

I did get it for myself, but found it so useful I used it for work for conf calls.
Obviously I didn't pay full price, got it off eBay, virtually unused, boxed & was reasonably priced.
If I ever do live streaming, it can handle that due to its Ethernet connection, but usually use it for video's as it can record multiple cameras at once & makes it easy to edit later

I went the expensive route & have a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO in my setup.
It has multiple cameras on it including one sitting on the monitor - all via hdmi.
The Mike is on a wall mount so I can move it as needed.
The ATEM exposes 2 usb C ports, one used to provide zoom or whatever as a webcam.
So I can mute all of them, mute video, show something else or, more commonly myself with a green screen & another video as backdrop - sometimes from a live YouTube feed.

Today's WTF is the idea of selling a "forever" mouse for $200 and then charge a subscription for software updates for it...
Not just how much for the mouse, but charging for updates - which also need to use an app to install them!
What about when the buttons fail - the usual reason I replace a mouse which usually cost less than £15

it always depends on where the sensor is located.
Eg I have Aircon in my home office but as the temperature sensor is currently on the ceiling it's always many °C higher than I am due to the cold air staying lower down where the Aircon cools it

The Amstrad Notepad Computer NC100 from 1992, sporting a Z80, 64K of ram, parallel printer port & RS232 serial port.
Runs off 4 AA batteries & one CR2032 for backup.
This one needs some work as it keeps saying the lithium battery is low when a new one is inserted & the stop key sticks, but otherwise works well.

that works when you have WiFi.
That said no reason why that works, but for me this works to keep professional mobile away from personal.
Over 10; years ago I had an issue where a book maker got hold of my personal number and I got calls from them at 2am whenever we had maintenance.
That was the point when I separated work from home calls when giving alternative numbers

my phone is dual SIM so I have Giffgaff as the personal primary SIM but sip2sim as the second so it's connected to my home PBX.
So, until I got redundant, I gave the VoIP numbers to work when I was on support, one UK & one US & not my personal number.
This is why I like this sort of service, & it separates personal calls from "work" easily.

the cost of each call to the handset might have been an issue but if that goes then the higher monthly cost might make some use it more if they don't need to worry about that extra cost.

The issue with the TI was that it was so slow due to it's architecture.
Processor was actually 16 bits but for some reason only 256 bytes of ram on the base machine - the 16K was in the video chip so the cpu couldn't access it directly & it was 8 bit.
Then the expansion memory was on a 3rd 8 bit bus, but at least the cpu could access it directly.
A shame as it could have been better

the last time I imported the dB it needed just under 2tb of NVMe & took 3 days. Even SSD would too slow.
Rendering zoom 0 to 10 is doable but can take a lot of space, hence not done it that often.

I've had this happen to me once, for a domain I had registered for a then future project.
I politely told them no & quickly put a site up.
Https://map.lu is now my mapping site but I've not updated the tiles in years, & yes I rendered a set of tiles for the world from osm data, which isn't that easy due to the size of the dB, even back then!
It desperately needs an update though
