Tax the billionaire class out of existence, and innovation will still happen, it'll just be driven by different priorities, and be more amenable to regulation on account of legislatures and the rest not being owned.

I did a good thing yesterday. I was decked out in Lycra and Kamen Rider mirror sunglasses, riding in to school to meet former colleagues, when I passed a little kid, helmeted, riding what must have been his first bike. When I stopped at a red light, he rode past and into the intersection. No cars, and I think he'd done the Nagoya thing, of looking for traffic and ignoring the light—a great way to get yourself killed.

Elon Musk has made ex-Twitter into such a cesspool of pornography and right-wing conspiracy mongering that it's no longer fit for purpose in times of public emergency.
During the 2018 Camp Fire, I followed hash tags on Twitter obsessively as a NorCal native son overseas, and there was some space-laser shit even then. With the Park Fire now raging, feeds are dominated by click bait slurry, and Elon's Folly is putting lives at risk. The man needs consequences in his life.

Donald J. Trump has one skill as an orator.
People say that he "gish gallops", layering on assertions so thick and fast that it's hard to keep track, and while that's true, he has better pacing than a Ben Shapiro, who's just bloody annoying. That's not his whole schtick.
Trump's monologues may be word salad, but they're packed with catch-phrases, and the ones that get a rise at live events will be repeated. Like a jingle.

When the onions all bolted this Spring, I spent a couple of days carmelizing and freezing the entire crop. It was an act of desperation, but I just made a pot of soup with three ice cube's worth, and it makes a *delicious* soup stock. I'm kind of amazed to be honest.

Well, this sucks.
YouTube's new advertising prompts make free-tier streaming unusable. But it's okay, I have a Nebula account!
All the smaller devices I own (an Android phone and two iPads) are too old to run the Nebula app. But it's okay, they have a website!
The Nebula website freezes streaming with annoying frequency. It's unusable.
So... screw it. I'm not buying new goddamned hardware just to play videos while cooking and cleaning up. Not happening, that's it, I quit.

The ageing computers I've used to maintain a project (the #Jurism reference manager) will soon need to be replaced, and I could use advice.
Ideally, I'll want a single machine to run MacOSX, Windows, and Linux, with the Linux install as the daily driver. I don't do anything exceptionally memory intensive, but USB access for all three OSs is critical
I guess a Mac can do this? Any advice on model & setup would be super helpful.

Okay. So I have two pizza crusts rising in the oven. They're from a stiff dough made with about 80% bread flour, 20% semolina.
