I did a good thing yesterday. I was decked out in Lycra and Kamen Rider mirror sunglasses, riding in to school to meet former colleagues, when I passed a little kid, helmeted, riding what must have been his first bike. When I stopped at a red light, he rode past and into the intersection. No cars, and I think he'd done the Nagoya thing, of looking for traffic and ignoring the light—a great way to get yourself killed.
