hmm, sounds like we may need some of the other folks maintaining an up to date AP db to help out
I have a separate system that tracks the Apple db weekly, and could look for itunesids not in the weekly PI feed db (or maybe the newsfeed table would be better, since it includes the deaded ones) and do a bulk add?
Maybe others could help out too, it's kind of ridiculous how many copies of Apples directory are out there, I think @npub1wd7…8l2x just said he's doing it now as well?

hey @npub1rcn…dw4h, have there been any recent changes to the mechanism that imports new shows from Apple Podcasts into the index?
I've been finding new shows I've had to add to the index manually so that they appear downstream in the OP3 setup search box, some have been in Apple Podcasts with public rss feeds for weeks! no dead old feeds or duplicates in these cases

opie three uses a nice web component library for some UI: https://shoelace.style/
one of the best WC examples i've seen
a big complaint about web components had been that they require javascript to init, can't really be "server rendered" (ie what everything used to be)
this problem was kind of addressed by "declarative shadow dom" in newer browsers https://caniuse.com/declarative-shadow-dom but at the expense of even more complexity

yes - the easy part is buying technical quality - the hard part is publishing something people want to listen to (or watch)
also not sure why these shows needed a 4k studio? for live demos of software?
I remember being impressed by 4k podcasts back when I had Boxee [1] hooked up to an early 4k tv, but the novelty wears off quickly, especially for "face-for-radio" talking head shows

if you're a real nerd like me they have an rss feed that updates as soon as stuff is available
you'll notice all of the corresponding mac/ios betas in a wave/track usually drop at the same time
and you can see that they run multiple tracks in parallel: e.g. not too long ago they had the 17.6 beta build track live at the same time as the 18.0 beta track

totally, now it's not much of a click farm (export your July downloads from the op3 stats page) - still not many downloads from an absolute numbers perspective - and the 24 hour rule means you only get one download per IP+ua per day
but yes I could see gaming in this way being interesting in certain parts of the world where sats would go farther than they do here!
or it could be a vpn - again really hard to tell
I bet @npub1cwm…wcs6 has some stories on his side re: gaming

server location is not part of geo determination for any podcast analytics system, it is always based on the listener IP
(OP3 gets the geo as part of the request from CF, and CF uses the MaxMind db I believe)
however, looks like most of these Nepal hits are served from a CF server in Kathmandu, Nepal anyway, but the colo and country fields are not related (which is why I track them separately just out of curiosity)

that bump in June was mostly fountain - the first image is your show downloads, daily, by agent (fountain = purple)
the second image is your show's downloads from fountain by country (nepal = bright red and highlighted) - seems like nepal is overrepresented (green = us for comparison)
