I need help! I asked for extraordinary termination of my O2 contract (by snail mail as their customer service instructed me) because of their criminally low speeds, and attached measurements from when the connection worked because it was often slower than my dial up connection in the nineties and unable to reach the servers for measurement. Got a letter stating that they terminated it, in June next year, when it regularly expires 🤬🤬🤬
I do not have legal insurance but it is a matter of spite now and I'm willing to pay more than it would cost me to put up with them for a year and 3 months more, as long as the money doesn't go to them. I need a lawyer who has had success previously against O2. I am in Heidelberg but am willing to travel anywhere in Germany if need be.
If justice in Germany is done by journalism instead, like in the corrupt country I originate from, please help me find a journalist willing to write about it.
Also if there are others affected in the same way, feel free to DM me. Our strength is in numbers.

@nprofile…8g2t I also have limited storage space, less so then before (In Zagreb I decluttered most of my possessions when I moved from 80m2 to 38m2, and then I got rid of almost everything when I was moving countries), so I have to buy multitaskers. I only have 2 pots, one small 20 cm, and the large one is a 6l pressure cooker which I use without a lid for cooking larger quantities, but it is a bit too tall to be practical. So my 8kg Dutch oven was used as a 5L pot, but it was just too heavy for that. My LC will serve as a regular pot, and for baking bread, and perhaps some recipes that start on the stove and finish in the oven.
Perhaps important difference for you, LC has 2 layers of enamel, one clear one coating everything (even the brim of the pot and lid, which looks uncoated) and the colourful one.

@nprofile…8g2t 32 cm, will it go on your burners? I only use a portable single induction cooking plate because the electric that comes with my flat is too slow and wasteful. The max diameter that goes on mine is 26cm. Larger work but heat up unevenly.

@nprofile…8g2t It came pre-seasoned. I know some like to remove the factory seasoning and season again but I didn't mind it as it must be food safe. I just seasoned once again after 6 or so months, and I do use a dishwashing liquid 🤷

Although LC has bread bakers I had to buy a multi purpose Dutch oven because of the limited budget and storage space (and who knows when I'm gonna move countries again). In Zagreb I used a Pyrex borosilicate glass Dutch oven to bake bread.

@nprofile…8g2t Those are the exact instructions from World Vegan Feast by Bryanna Clark Grogan whose no-knead bread I bake in Dutch oven. Le Creuset was the lightest I could find for the same volume, and with the largest handles. Staub was cheaper but heavier and hands in oven mittens can't go through their handles. Cheaper brands are prone to chipping (YouTuber Prudent Reviews tested them by dropping cutlery in them).

Best with monotonous noise, so not sudden outbursts, so sometimes I would use ear buds and listen to something through them and then have noise cancellation headphones over them. Rainymood website has been a lifesaver. There are also apps with rain sounds.

@nprofile…8g2t I bought a Dutch oven 26cm, meringue. It was 30% off if you order for 500 eur or over but no one needed anything to merge their order with mine. Then a colleague found it even cheaper in the Nordic Nest shop.
I have an unenameled cast iron Dutch oven, 8 kg with the lid, have to heat it to 250C before baking bread, take it out, open it (the lid is a skillet, so no knob), put the bread dough in there, close, return to the oven, handling 8kg at 250C is not fun at all. And of course it has to be washed and dried immediately.

Just ate edamame "spaghetti" (with some store bought tomato sauce with Italian herbs) and they're awful, gummy, flavourless, not enjoyable at all. It felt like eating wet paper with tomato sauce!
I adore edamame, just boiled with some salt! I just seem to hate all low-carb food imitations!
The problem is I boiled the entire package planning to take the rest to work for lunch. What am I gonna do with those 2 more portions in my fridge?

@nprofile…8g2t @nprofile…6k6g The first time I wanted to bake it, like 15 years ago, I googled and found a recipe on Att*la H*ldman's blog (the blog already seemed off). I wasn't happy with the chocolate sponge consistency, so I developed my own from another cake, veganised:
Chocolate sponge cake (single layer)
140g sugar
110g flour T-405
¾ teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon baking soda
20g cocoa powder
1 egg replacer according to the instructions on the package
100g soya milk
45g neutral tasting oil (canola, sunflower, ...)
1 teaspoon vanilla paste or aroma
50g boiling water
Preheat oven to 170°C. Mix dry ingredients except sugar. In another bowl whisk soya milk and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add egg replacer, vanilla, and oil and whisk again. Mix wet and dried ingredients together and whisk, but not too much, only so that it's a uniform mass. Add boiling water, whisk quickly, and pour into a cake mould. Bake for 30min, test with a toothpick, if it doesn't come out clean extend the baking time for 5 min at a time until it does.
(Don't overmix or it could be rubbery after baking, alternatively replace up to 30g of flour with cornstarch to lower the gluten content).
Also, use the entire jar of apricot jam, not just 6 tablespoons.

But that's not the same as "pacifying" children with it. (Some American parents use antihistamines, and I know a person here who gives her children melatonin, I don't know what to think about it 😑)

Watched most of the video, then my data plan ran out.
I didn't understand, do they count children or only adults in the statistics.
Being from rural Balkans I was given alcohol from as early as I can remember, usually beer or wine, because my family wanted a low maintenance child. Babies' thumbs are dipped in Slivovitz (homemade, double distilled, so around 70%) to pacify them 😵‍💫 It is child abuse, a very common child abuse.
Got drunk aged 3 with a 6yo cousin because somebody left an open beer by the staircase. Got drunk aged 6 at a christening party, went from table to table and took a sip out of everyone's bottle, started cursing like a sailor so they sent me to bed.
Every Christmas Eve they would put a shot of Slivovitz in front of me, sometimes I would try it and leave it, but aged 8 I was not happy with my gift so in protest I drank it in a single gulp. Afterwards I did my part in a Christmas play in the church perfectly, told my mother I was sick, she took me out and I threw up.
As a teen I normally drank beer with my mother, but never before school. She absolutely hated that I competed in astronomy because she thought astronomy made me an atheist, so she tried to get me drunk before an astronomy competition.

@nprofile…07t5 For me the problem was not that it was dark (I like Nordic Noir), but so slow. They're sitting in the kitchen in silence for 3 minutes to set the mood. Time is a finite resource and nothing is going to give me those 60+ hours back.
I do not have a TV, but I watch some stuff on my laptop. I do not pay for what I watch. I get creative (in jurisdictions where it is decriminalised 😉).

I get fed up with TV shows by the middle of Season 2, if not before. Just deleted the rest of Ted Lasso. With Succession I got fed up after one episode. I did watch the entire season 1 of The White Lotus, but will not watch any more. I regret 60+ hours I wasted on Breaking Bad. Wish I had spent those 60+ hours doing absolutely nothing instead. At least now I know when to stop.
(It's different with Nordic TV shows for some reason, I mostly watch those to the end, perhaps because they know when to end a show.)
