I don't like this question cuz it frames climate actions as only "counting" if you have lots of fame/money/visibility. Greta Thunberg was a kid. #JustStopOil are activists with no $. #ScientistRebellion are paying with their careers. Arguably, it's the people with fame/money/visibility who are the *problem* not the *solution*.
What you're really asking, I think, is "what one action is most necessary to change?" and that's also problematic, but I'll try...

Ironically, the hard part will be living with it. I remain stubbornly determined to change the direction we're heading. Seeing this stuff clearly isn't the end goal: changing it is.

My kids are GenZ & already they're refusing to procreate. Still have time to change their minds, but there's way more peer acceptance for not having kids than when I was their age. It's not just climate, but also finances, neither of which are going to improve (although with labor crunch may come higher wages).
I don't see a tipping point: I see us getting sicker (microplastics, PFAS, early cancer, various plagues), dying sooner, and *also* having fewer kids.

I keep writing substantial population decline into my stories (set near-future) not as some kind of apocalypse, as if we need some *unknown* Children of Man thing to crash fertility rates, but because all the things *we already know* add up to that future as just given. That's not part of the premise, it's part of the baseline reality going forward.

I second an examination of "radical flank" politics especially with the rise of movements like Extinction Rebellion. The podcast DRILLED had a good discussion of this on "The Tomato Soup "Controversy"" episode.

I'm seeing more talk about "fear" in discussions of climate. A lot of denialism is rooted in fear (and it's not that deep, very close to the surface). Fear quickly turns into anger. WHY WOULD YOU SAY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN IF I DON'T STOP BURNING CARBON YOU OVERREACTING CRAZY FREEDOM-STEALING COMMIE
Fear. Anger. The next step is blame. And it gets super ugly from there.
We really need ways to help reactionary folks manage the anxiety because it's going to only get worse.

Readers only want dystopia or escapism?
How about a vision of a future worth fighting for? How about a realistic take on the world we're living in but with a pathway out of the mess?
Someday, they'll decide you're ready for such things. Probably not until readers create another breakaway success like KSR's Ministry for the Future or Becky Chambers' Monk & Robot.
In the meantime, I'm making a list where you can find such things...
