I'm seeing more talk about "fear" in discussions of climate. A lot of denialism is rooted in fear (and it's not that deep, very close to the surface). Fear quickly turns into anger. WHY WOULD YOU SAY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN IF I DON'T STOP BURNING CARBON YOU OVERREACTING CRAZY FREEDOM-STEALING COMMIE
Fear. Anger. The next step is blame. And it gets super ugly from there.
We really need ways to help reactionary folks manage the anxiety because it's going to only get worse.
