Does anyone else get rate limited from just using mastodon normally from the mastodon website? Like, doing absolutely nothing exotic. Just scrolling the timeline, sometimes hitting like or boost, checking notifications when they come in, very occasionally replying to something. And then there's a wall of toast messages saying to try again in 1 to 5 minutes.
Is this a me thing? Or a hachyderm thing? Or is mastodon just like this?

I don't accept the premise that there is a harmful class bias in opposing gen AI. This argument presumes both that the writing of working class and marginalized people is less valuable unless it matches the style of wealthy people, and that they cannot do so on their own, so a computer must do it for them.

From about 2017 to about 2022, there was a huge american, and at some level international, conversation about racism, sexism, patriarchy, white supremacy, and so on. That played out in large part on social media. I think it's not a coincidence that this is also when the largest part of the fediverse was established.
The culture here is mainly characterized by having opted out of that conversation. Every single discussion here has to start over at square 1 on these topics, and it is *exhausting*

1. Telecomunications (mostly ISPs)
2. IT professional services (design/development agencies, SaaS companies, and clouds)

Hey, since we're talking about supporting open source maintainers, and maintainer burnout, maybe we should review the causes of burnout? They are:
1. Values mismatch
2. Harmful community
3. Lack of autonomy
4. Lack of recognition
5. Overwork
6. Lack of compensation

Intent is a plan to do something, and/or a resolve to act on that plan. No one had a plan. No understanding guided any actions. So later on when someone wonders why some code is the way it is, the answer will be that there is no reason. It just happened to satisfy a desire.
