@nprofile…t6n4 finde ich tbh nicht deutlich komplizierter als "Bürokratieabbau"... Es gibt quasi keine Digitalisierungsprojekte die nicht mit Ausschreibungen, Vetternwirtschaft und effektiver Übernahme der Verwaltung durch IT-Beraterfirmen enden. Weil der Staat wäre ja zu langsam und ineffizient und nicht innovativ genug und sollte sowieso eigentlich nichts machen außer Verträge verhandeln. Das kommt halt schon alles aus der gleichen ecke. Ist ja nicht ohne Grund ein großes Thema bei der FDP.

wow, apparently some luxury brands are taking advantage of the whole duty free thing even more badly now? They structure the deals such that when you pay in a normal shop (which is not duty free) you technically merely receive the bag on loan. Then the next time you pass through an airport, you can scan the receipt in a duty free area, which nominally completes the purchase there, without sales tax.

I don't get why more news sites haven't adopted the LWN model of time-limited paywalls on major articles
It's a clear reason to subscribe, you can see what you're getting, the articles remain publicly accessible and useful as a reference once they're no longer newsworthy

incredibly minor pet peeve: People saying "ISO timestamp" when they actually mean the much more narrowly defined RFC3339 timestamps which the thing people actually use because:
- they have a single canonical, unambiguous form you can actually parse without additional context, unlike the ISO ones
- it's the spec you can actually afford to read
