How a new class of geothermal turbine that uses sCO2, which can be utilized anywhere on the planet simply drilling into hot rock, in conjunction with low cost directed energy drilling methods could make geothermal the best "nuclear" energy source, without the impediments around nuclear energy developing nations face to the greatest degree.

We'll see how that goes. I'd say it's still better that the US retains upperhand over CCP, etc, but don't need to go into that.
Finally, I will bring up how more than just the things themselves, it is how they are achieved that matters. That I am trying to put together a fully bitcoiner LP base as this could mark a turning point of bitcoin beginning to fix things in a big way at the level of atoms, with orders of magnitude greater efficiency than the fiat world. And that if bitcoiners do not take ownership of this arc, it will be inevitably consumed by the shitcoiners who are diversifying their mimetic territory through faux industrialism (e.g. A16Z, et al "American Dynamism").

Seeing disgusting content on Twitter from charlatans really shows just how important Nostr is. A lot of info will get wiped and Dark City'd. What will be more interesting however is to see cryptographic proof of what a pubkey has been thinking or at least claiming to think for a decade. Nostr may end up being just as critical to rooting out fraud in the world as bitcoin.
Imagine a world in which no one alive has ever posted anything not on Nostr. The people who think Nostr has fallen off in importance are fools who do not realize monetary transactions take place via contracts, that contract scalability is tied to relationships, and failure to have tools that sufficiently scale relationships to capture the total economic capacity in equilibrium is how the state weasels its way into existence i.e. Nostr is what outcompetes and supplants statism.

Shortly before my Twitter account was obliterated by a fiat egomaniac, I wrote a thread laying out my predictions for how a bitcoin ETF could underpin a fiat 2.0 that purports to be atop (fractionally reserved) bitcoin. Here is the 12 part synopsis:
1. Operation Chokepoint 2.0 made Utah ILCs and other banks of the style that underpin lending startups unwilling to touch "crypto".
2. Before that, it would have been plausible to start a business that originates fiat loans for the purchase of bitcoin (sort of a layaway/mortgage style).
3. If the bitcoin were held in a 2-of-2 deadlocked arrangement between customer and lending company, it ensures company cannot rehypothecate, and ensures the loan is at least eventually paid off.
4. It is a great business, and as the calculator on https://faucet21.com shows, it allows people to end up with a lot more bitcoin.
5. As companies like Swan, Unchained, Strike, and River with mediocre business models chase greater revenue for investors, those companies and others will build lending tools like this, but for a bitcoin ETF rather than bitcoin.
6. In this way, they can gain 10x higher fees on 10x the investment capital (note, this is effectively the money printer getting connected directly into bitcoin purchasing) all the while triggering NGU. I anticipate the ETF will actually be 1:1 for a long time because there is an end game.
7. It will become the standard for noobs to get in this way and the bitcoin price will rise into the millions -- most influencers, podcasts, and conferences will dismiss the problems due to NGU.
8. Then when the bitcoin ETF rivals the pension or housing bubbles, perhaps even just low tens of trillions, the 6102 will be announced, and the ETF will turn into fiat 2.0.
9. There will be a conversion window turning all fiat 1.0 into fiat 2.0 (maybe all tied to a central federal reserve account that individuals have access to), so there is your first large chunk of devaluation.
10. There will be top down attempts to force all contracts to be denominated in fiat 2.0 -- large companies will pay salaries in it, BlackRock will rent houses in it, and fiat cash will be eliminated for total surveillance.
11. If it does not fall within days to weeks, fiat 2.0 will fail shortly thereafter as it trades at a significant discount on the international markets due to its market estimated amount of underlying bitcoin combined with huge counterparty risk and lack of auditability.
12. Nations that minimize the violence and theft they carry out in this tumultuous time may emerge as new global Schelling points and private companies will step in to further stabilize these regions by providing voluntary rule of law and insurance services.

Good article and in principle correct, but I disagree with both the "rule of thumb" and general conclusions around risk.
At a first glance, it appears sound, but the flaw is that bitcoin is actually the *only* thing in the universe that is perfectly ELASTIC, whereas "fiat liabilities" always have optionality and inelasticity. In practice, you always have the choice to not spend bitcoin... how painful that is depends on circumstance, but to suggest fiat liabilities simply "liquidate" bitcoin as if it were automatic is disingenuous.
The variance across circumstance is rather large. Moreover, I would say the biggest mismatch is in the opposite direction most of the time. The real mismatch is the perceived circumstance one thinks one is in and how they imagine it might play out. People are overl fearful, yet will put zero weighting on the possibility of their fiat going poof overnight, say, due to being personally targeted. Low, but not zero risk.
The more compelling and robust version of this article focuses on the corporate balance sheet where the liabilities are more pressing and much shorter duration. Similarly, the elderly retiree. From the mismatch problem it can be pointed out that an index that actually tracks the liabilities directly would be superior to fiat. You want food? Ok, you are a fool to only hold dollars and zero CALM shares for food you want in 3 months for fear of volatility, especially if you want to eat eggs.

The *implicit* error in your premise is thinking that mining is somehow special, and it is not.
EVERY technology and business must minimize input energy costs that go intot the thing being done. Bitcoin ensures that choices are made in this direction over time, by impoverishing those who fail to lower energy costs quickly enough.

No. Gold and silver acted a bit like on-chain bitcoin and Lightning in some ways: gold was simply too valuable for micro transactions such as buying a drink since it's hard to physically move, store, or measure a tiny fleck of gold.
As soon as you can operate purely on s2f factors via credit and checking banking by which the volumetric value becomes irrelevant, you have a fractional reserve so you are not *really* on a "gold" standard.
If you want to understand more about coinage, William Jevons' *Money and the Mechanism of Exchange* from 1875 goes through mind-numbingly excruciating detail of the compositions of all sorts of coins.
Anyway, the key takeaway is that silver still had monetary advantages over gold in some dimensions (divisibility), but neither has any advantage in any way over bitcoin. Nor does any other monetized asset class such as equities or real estate have any advantage over bitcoin within any narrow domain, so 100% all monetary premiums will be absorbed by bitcoin. RE & Equities have a monetary premium of >2x to put a conservative floor on it.

People make comments that are far too flippant. I would gladly turn on a mode where I have to pay 100 sats per note and everyone else does to (perhaps it could be a toggle and continuously variable on a per note basis). In the traditional, tribal world, there is a true opportunity cost to one's words since you have a limited time with a limited number of people to share your thoughts. The internet removed that scarcity, so people shout aimlessly and arrogantly.
When one's thoughts are costly and hodl'd it is easier to hear those who are sincere. Spam is not a binary problem, it is an analog problem. "Well said" or "you're amazing" as a note response to a "celebrity" is actually a form of spam.
Accosting Michael Saylor IRL to say "thank you so much for what you do for bitcoin" is spam. You will not learn or humble yourself, but costliness will shut you up so those who have something to communicate about can do so efficiently.

Well I'm actually more interested in a marketplace for certain types of *labor* of the variety where the tasks are highly commoditized, repeatable, legible, predictable, and most importantly, discretizable -- if you have a series of labor transactions where you need each thing to work such as paying a developer to build an app, there is risk at the size of the entire project, but for a delivery of a physical item, risk is bounded, acceptable, and low enough that it can more easily be overcome through costliness of breech of contract.
Why not http? Nostr is better for real time, dynamic interactions that combine encrypted DMs, the critical relational aspect that allows trust, easy payment integration, and mutability resistant and Sybil resistant transaction history. Also eliminates single point of failure.

A delivery app for anything is probably a good marketplace app for nostr. Rather than selecting different items, the requests are placed in text format: e.g. [2 lbs ribeyes, 1 lb butter, 1 gallon raw milk, and a Makita impact driver]. Zero collaboration with stores, no browsing for cleaner UI, just know what you want. The note includes geolocation, order parameters, and allows runners to filter for their area. Different bid/ask approaches are possible.
When a contract is agreed upon, the buyer zaps the runner the fee amount (say $10). The runner then purchases the items and physically delivers the items. An image of the receipt could then be posted to Nostr on a thread for the contract. Then upon physical hand-off, the buyer zaps the receipt note with the stated amount (and can include a tip).
In the event the buyer breaches the contract, the runner retains possession of the goods, and may even be able to return the goods, while also keeping the fee that was paid up front. In the event the runner fails to deliver the goods, their reputation will prevent them from continuing in this line of work with that ID, and bootstrapping a new one will require taking a number of much lower profit orders.
Rather than relying on a 3rd party to decide platform or deplatform in a binary way, everyone can chose who to interact with, and it can be done in a ranked way. For instance, you might choose to bid more for people with higher ratings, which then incentivizes people do things continuously better rather than merely acceptably. The images of receipts and some heuristics around those may suffice to have very high Sybil resistance.
The client could have a tool for filtering notes such that it is easy to verify a history of transactions, and you could even have parameters for degrees of trust in a single click. The client would also have a price conversion showing the dollar amount matching the sats sent at that time, and you could even have it hooked up to an image recognition AI service that extracts the total on the receipt to auto-generate an LN invoice.
Since the threshold of trust is lower than the transaction size, and only needs to exceed the value of the fee, it seems relatively easier to bootstrap, and perhaps could be bootstrapped fairly easily with a vouching system that does not need to be overly complex since after a few weeks of history, it no longer needs the vouching of others to remain trustworthy. I think this might fulfill the concept of a fully transferable relational contracting capability.
This allows delivery of restaurant or grocery food or any other IRL item. It also is structured in such a way that it allows the purchase of bitcoin by runners at a negative rate since they can use a credit card when buying. One challenge however is that runners may need to quickly turn their bitcoin back into dollars since the sort of people doing deliveries might not have enough liquidity to cover a day's worth of shopping.
Am I thinking about this correctly, or do I have something off? Is there a good way to monetize this with any amount of defensibility? Maybe a highly reliable client that charges a very small rake on fees? Perhaps partnering with LSPs? Of course, does have some privacy challenges, though you would use a separate keypair from your primary ID as a starting point.
My general view is there is a sweet spot of latency for a good first marketplace product: e-commerce, craigslist, UpWork, or Airbnb and you don't actually need Nostr quite as much; ride-share, and it's hard to have good UX without critical mass and more precision around mapping and dispatching probably harder; it also seems easier to bootstrap than plumbing, painting, electrical, auto repair, or the like, but that would likely be a good follow on.

It will not be a problem for most people and best practices will emerge, but it's certainly possible to envision a future in which there are violent gangs that go around extracting people and using advanced exfiltration techniques. There is no true "secure enclave" in biological systems.
Low fidelity now, but it's not about what is possible now. It's about what it can do in 10-20 years. Now also consider how much the technology could advance if you add another 30 years of technological progress well after the death of fiat.

With where Anchor Watch is headed, you will face adversaries and lines of attack far more menacing than anything I could ever see.
That which can happen, will happen. Whatever is correct shall manifest. I know you know there are tradeoffs, and my pointing one out is actually an expression of bullishness for impact the company will end up having... what the net effect will be I am not sure.
As modern nations weaken, there will be a transition. States will eventually lose their special role and become ordinary corporations while the ordinary corporation itself will be dramatically transformed, with complex operational financial management built around miniscript tools like Trident, and perhaps coupled to Nostr reputational identities somehow.
If AnchorWatch becomes the proto-"state" that replaces the state in a protracted interregnum, it "should" be "attacked" mimetically as part of striving toward the ideal of freedom and privacy even if it takes an additional century.
