@npub1jj5…3am4 Yeah this isn't necessarily bad. In the old days you had locked in character creation. In Generations, your name, sex, and voice are final. I think the inherent facial features are final too, unlike cosmetic applications. This is less malicious and more of... the way things were.
Fast forward though, the fact that they instead SELL YOU total character recreation rather than enabling it as part of the base game is where I have problems with it. In other games, you'd get clever solutions like potions of sex change or magic memory wiping to rename yourself, etc. But that's not entirely necessary as they can simply add an option to go and recreate your character. Players aren't stupid and we won't lose our suspense of disbelief when one day we decide "yknow maybe I want to play as a badass dude but right now I'm a chick, so I'll either start a new character or recreate this one so I don't need to change save files."

@npub1dkf…z4wz Lemme jump in here with some more context of this BS they pulled in Monster Hunter as well. I'm guilty of owning World and Rise as well as the extensions, but I think there are a few things that kept the MH and RE fanbase quiet(er).
MH World and Rise were complete enough, but the stink of limited character (re)creation was always there. Here's the funny thing though. Since our save data is local, it is possible to modify all of our characters' visual data by modifying the save data. They sell character edit vouchers, so you have LIMITED character editing in a single player game. The fact that Crapcom never went after this mod is quite interesting, perhaps they knew they couldn't risk the bad PR since I'm sure they could bully and then pressure a legal case of impeding sales. I never liked it, but the game was complete and customizable enough that I think most people just turned to mod support and never really said anything.
Fast forward to MH Rise, there was some more sentiment about how hard Crapcom was pushing microtransactions. Not huge though, and not enough to stop people from buying them or even buying the game entirely. The same character edit voucher is still in the game but I think very few people wanted to recreate their characters anyway.
But now in DD2, look where the slippery slope has gotten. This is beyond just "a microtransaction," this is fundamental, game-function scumbaggery.

So I learned that the Palword devs, Pocketpair Inc, are JP. Man look at that, they got tricked into adding Body Type A/B into the game :kekw:
Now, it's funny, because the gun additions are also justified with "Americans are doing this thing." But unlike Body Type A/B, it was a lucky choice, because it made the game absurd and hilarious for the better. Their market presence is amplified due to it. A thing done right, for the wrong reason.

The fundamentals of English is being screwed up as a result. Everyone employs this rhetoric of "haha I angered the right people, take that!" to make it seem as if their point is the "right" one. I believe the factor is intent.
When trannylators "trigger the anti-SJW types," all they are doing is revealing their incompetence, maliciousness, pettiness, and disdain for the medium, further destroying what is left of their meager ethos when it comes to being credible individuals in the industry. The art form has not been improved, contributed to, or iterated upon, but it has been made worse. This is not subjective, it is objective, because their entire ideology is based in delusion. They are also straight up WRONG in what they do, and they know they are wrong, but they tell you that they are right.
When "we" rectify the wrongs caused by these infiltrators or continue doing as we always have despite their attempts to subjugate, it angers them because their advances to subvert and co-opt are being impeded. Things like removing their flags of conquest, providing better alternatives, removing their financial support, and having more voices against them, are merely tools of war to defeat the barbarians at the gates. Our intentions are just and righteous for the medium, and it should always be considered as excising a cancer that seeks to infest and destroy.

I think the deceptive jump here is trying to equate a translated phrase of "outside the frame of men and women" to "non-binary", as indicated by Nova3's use of the abbreviation "nb". And yet, in the original script, "non-binary" is nowhere to be seen, as pointed out by Kyonko. This means the original writing and thus the intent by the original writers (aka the source material) don't acknowledge the concept of being "non-binary" at all.
Even if a character like Enkidu exists, the base human binary still exists with all of the other servants. A magical outlier (in a fictional IP nonetheless) has not invalidated normal understanding of humans lol

Perhaps the missing variable here is the intent of the writers. I think Nova3 is projecting his confirmation bias on the writing. Does not being in the frame of men and women mean literally? Being a machine, being a clump of dirt, being non-possessive of a human or otherwise humanlike body? Or strange circumstances, such as a person that has the body of a woman but the mind of a man and vice-versa?
The question is: Did the writers intend to imply a third or otherwise state of being that contradicts the binary of humans? Perhaps the script would have used the words male and female instead. After all, male and female are terms given to the two halves of a sexually dimorphic species, especially ours, and funnily enough, the meaning of man and woman is ambiguous at best and undefined at worst in the left's lexicon.

Still, I don't think these people fail to understand that, yeah, their ideological enemies actually never did care until THEY invaded. From my understanding, permanently harmful, delusion affirming surgeries =/= magical transformations into the other sex. A genuine storytelling opportunity for strange ideas is, yeah, would a man that is permanently in a genuine female body be able to or eventually fully embrace the female persona? @npub1xan…jlvy The problem is that stuff that you could argue is just a nothing burger and isn't actually really prevalent, is suddenly appearing in your life. I asked once to a group of university mates, "Does anyone actually identify as latinx?" And one replied "I have a few friends that do."
That's the crazy part to me. It's simultaneously an invention of a minority and a total nothing-burger, but is also finding its way into lots of people's lives. I forget the numbers but it's something like less than a third of the total population in the US actually uses social media.
But my sampling could also be biased because it's among young university students and graduates, the ones extremely likely to have social medias and thus engage in online ideas.

@npub1jju…533h I was saying this when I was playing the game... I really, really love playing with 4 shotguns because it's so satisfying to just pump and shoot as you cruise through a level. However, what really kept me from trying out AR/automatic ballistics builds was that they just... sucked.
Honestly Ludlows were what I used to win against Balteus but even after unlocking the Scudder later in the game, it just... sucked *in comparison*. At least, in comparison to other options like missile builds (I used this to beat the Ibis series) and the hilarious shotgun builds. So it was either everything else was OP or the ARs and SMGs sucked. Yeah, it was the latter.

@npub1rjh…uefa Yep. Kai's hitbox is a little bit big, and worse, it's a rectangle. Trying to navigate spikes diagonally is the worst thing ever, especially on a few rooms in Hash/Cipher Circuit's stage.
Also heh, I'm one of those freaks that usually picks the high(er/est) difficulty right off the bat. So my first playthrough was on Hard, and... yeah it was tough. Rewarding though, since I love games with tight controls. It's almost as satisfying as Hollow Knight, and some of my muscle memory from HK bled over into GC (extremely short hop towards enemy > attack > move away > anim cancel on landing > repeat).

@npub1guf…3lkv Oh yeah forgot to mention I beat Gravity Circuit recently. Great game! Even the final boss was cool. You can tell the devs are big fans of X1, ZX, and the Zero games.
Only problem with the game are the rectangle hitbox spikes. So it's not a triangle, and you can get hit even though you're far away from the spikes if you just so happen to touch rectangle corners :tantrum: . Otherwise, solid 9/10, no other complaints from me!

This is interesting. Square is reporting big losses, and it's no surprise. They were excited about FF16's sales on the first week, but it plummeted 90% afterwards. It was not the system seller Sony/SQE thought it would be, and they had to fight Microsoft in court.
Microsoft gave up the console wars (Xbox is technically doing worse than PS), but Microsoft is now getting GamePass on pretty much everything. Sony does not have anything over MS nor Nintendo.

Future Redeemed didn't do anything either. I don't really understand how people can say they are satisfied with the ending of "the trilogy." What, just because we stopped Moebius and gave a prequel? The unfinished, not even ambiguous, endings are what irritate me.
I really thought XC3 was going to be a union of the worlds on the new landmass we see at the end of XC2. Building a new future together after all the things that have transpired felt like the best way to wrap up the dual worlds of Klaus, like two halves joining once again. Idk, I just never could get invested into XC3.

Admiral Koris has contemplated changing his ship name to Dehfranz, or the Iktomi. The Quarians use a naming system of <First Name> Vas <Ship Name>. Dehfranz is corruption of "Vas Deferens," which is a real medical name that refers to the duct that carries sperm from the testicle in the male reproductive organ. And of course, Iktomi when read as a Quarian name sounds like vasectomy.
Yknow, part of my writing process is just deep diving into literatures and archives to find names, and then recontextualizing their meanings to fit your canon. Maybe corrupt them a little bit to make the reference less obvious. It's been a lot of fun, but also really enlightening to come across ancient words and syllables used for games media I'm familiar with. For example, Chesed, a Hebrew name, is used in Blue Archive and Library of Ruina.

#[0] This kind of plastic look is starting to bug me with the industry. In terms of recent releases, I noticed it with Halo Infinite. Now this game... and also, the Sins of a Solar Empire 2 technical preview. What happened to the good ol' rustic aesthetic of the olden days? Clean looks good, but TOO clean ends up looking plastic... and worse... cheap.

Yeah, ya don't say. You can see the child brain seeping through. "I did the wrong thing, but I hate that I'm being exposed for the wrong thing!"
