I didn’t want to see protestors disrupt the convention because no matter how disgusting the genocide of Palestinians is, we have bigger domestic issues. You can’t help the person next to you if you don’t put your oxygen mask on first.
That said, I was appalled they chose Israel over Palestine by having the parents of a hostage but no Palestinian on. I was prepared for neutrality. I wasn’t expecting that. I find that disappointing, no matter strategic it was.

They have to knock the rust off a bit first.”

I can’t believe anyone is defending Raygun, the Australian “breakdancer.” That was the most offensive display of nonsense I’ve ever seen. We don’t force countries to compete you know. If they didn’t have anyone better they should have just passed.
It was like watching a four year old attempt to break.
This is indicative of the rot that the Olympics have become. Also, breakdancing is like 40 years too late and is not a sport. What about ballet? Ballroom? Tap? Why not a singing competition?

In 1986 I moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University. There weren’t many dorms back then so I found an apartment with another student on a crime-ridden block in center city. I knew no one. But I brought a bunch of bootleg VHS movies. When I say a bunch, I mean like ten. They got a lot of viewing. This was one of them.
For the 18 months we had no AC. Later I would have a single window unit that barely gasped cool air.

I don’t even use Facebook anymore, except on rare occasions. I went to look for someone local, and logged into Facebook. I was informed I was in jail because of a photograph (not even mine) I’d shared in 2018.
