I think Andy Yen will make better decisions than what FF has lately been doing and save it from itself. It also feels logical for a tech company dealing with privacy take over instead of another big/medium tech. Extreme privacy advocates will probably not like the consolidation of things in the privacy world but that's how you grow a company that's trying to combat big tech and do the many things and provide a sustainable privacy alternative to all.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. Here's what I think:
1. Only time will tell when the case is fought and ruling is given.
2. If Google can no longer have this deal with FF - Mozilla will have no choice but to go back to basics and be a much smaller company. It will also be susceptible to a buy out. I would like to see it merge with @npub19kd…t56d with Proton's leadership replacing Mozilla's.

I am no expert. Nor have I ever claimed I have a superior model that can work better.
But at this stage - privatizing works better than what Canada's health care system as it currently stands given the significant drawbacks in today's reality.
The extent to which it should be done is of course debatable and I am no expert in deciding on it.

Now you are talking about semantics. That's how I used the word. And that may not be the way I wanted anyone to have inferred it. But here you are..
What you are talking about is an idea that can work. Yes, in a perfect world - even communism is supposed to work, on paper. But it doesn't.
So, while technically universal health care is supposed to work all things working well - it is not at the moment and that's what's important to me.

Well, to me - it never worked. So this is mu opinion and understanding of it. The reason for why it is so doesn't quite matter as a person who is seeking medical assistance. It is a nightmare today and that's the extent to which I think of the issue or the system. My job as a private citizen is to use the services my taxes pay for that should ideally work well. Not to consider the ideal situations in which it does indeed work,

Also, I am not obligated to provide evidence for it if it’s my belief. Not everything has an objective rationale.
Also, read the whole thread again. The thinking is that it doesn’t work the way it was supposed to work and ends up being a terrible experience as it is today for me and others in Canada.

Yeah I read this post when it was first published.
The next step (my suggestion) is to actually show with a couple of examples of how to actually do it - a self hosting 101 for the average but tech savvy person.
I recommend starting with Jitsi and Bitwarden and Syncthing.
This should set up the ground work to understand how others can be done (hopefully) relatively easily.

Again, it's your incorrect inference from our statements the way we discussed it.
And I am ethnically South Asian, don't give me the bullshit about knowing people who have died because of lack of healthcare. That's happened everywhere. You are not special in knowing so nor am I or anyone for that matter.
Edit: people die from lack of health care even when there is health care to be had. The real problem is timely accessibility of it that doesn't bankrupt you.

First - so what if it is a negative way of asking for a systemic change? Negativity with the system must be pointed out for it to be made clear of the issue at hand more explicitly.

I understand. But people should know. The people screaming for universal health care need to be educated. It’s now a romanticized and fictitious idea. Few places in Europe has it implemented well but cannot and does not work in North America.
Given the issues I have personally faced - I would rather have privatized than universal. But I get shut down every time I even hint at discussing this.
People need to learn and understand better. But this stems from personal experience.

You see, it's stuff like this is why I thought @npub19kd…t56d should make their own browser on Gecko forking FF. Something that's not as hardened like Librewolf or Mullvad but a little more hardened than default FF that ships with Proton Pass and/or uBO preinstalled.
We do need more alternatives in the browser space too.
