Have definitely experienced addiction. Started drinking coffee out of necessity while doing school during the day and working at night, then when I started working 12 hours shifts in the hospital, I needed the caffeine to stay awake. Now working in an office environment (8 to 5), I've had to very deliberately dial back how much I'm drinking in order to not be affected in the same way.
