@npub1f8e…zu5u the first time i ran that citric acid through my machine it only had a few floaty white things in the output, but i got the bright idea to blow into the outlet tube like a child making milk bubbles and what came out can only be described as a calcium slurry. I guess they're just that sensitive.
But this has to be "solved" for the commercial machines because i sincerely doubt every Sonic has an on-site distiller. Probably the cheap ones have aluminum chambers or something

@npub1f8e…zu5u yeah they recommend distilled water for the ones i had, but i was using RO water at <20ppm for nearly the entire time and just cleaning it with the bottles of citric acid cleaner. I did buy a distiller in the hopes it would last longer than ~12 months, but was only using distilled for 3 months.
You can get sachets of citric acid on amazon, or bottles of cleaner at home depot or the like. Highly recommend you run that stuff through at least every quarter, based on my excperience!

and as i mentioned the only two companies that made them at all were GE and taotronics, (knockoffs etc have the same buttons/connections/etc). From what i can see the Taotronics are top access and there's a basket that holds the ice, and the GE ones are like a drawer, but i am not 100% on that.

Are there any <$1000 nugget ice machines that don't suck? I had *two* Taotronics machines die in the exact same way - something binds in the chamber with the auger and the augur pushes the top of the chamber off and up, which causes all of the water in the chamber to leak out and breaks it forever.
I *absolutely refuse* to buy any General Electric product, so afaik that eliminates the two main entries in this price range.

Point still holds and it is probably overkill for your 180W laptop, but it'll run cool and probably last forever assuming the cord is replaceable.

I recall GAN stuff being around $80 around when i got the laptop, too - mine isn't USB powered - so if inflation is correct a official dell 330W for $130 "feels" like a fantastic deal - those $80 ones were from aliexpress.
If i had to power a bunch of USB stuff i'd buy something like this, though. I like & use dell PSUs

it's this CSV file. Then you can import that on the new server. I do not know what all the other tips about migrating and making aliases are for, maybe someone who knows mastodon better than i do can explain why you might want to do that

I run a fediverse server, too. i only have half a TB of storage, so once a year i run a script to delete images that are older than X days old where X is about 180. It keeps the storage down a bit. If i started getting more signups i'd probably delete stuff older than 1 month that was also larger than ~5MB

@npub16rs…2zfj I don't have access to one. Apparently the issue is logitech switched from 5v to 3.3v logic and the contacts in the switches are meant for 5v so they corrode/oxidize faster. IPA was just a test, i have to find my bottle of de-ox-it and try that.
It's also possible it is just the game, but i have noticed some button press issues here and tehre over the past year.

I read that story about that diver Dave Shaw this morning at 4AM. the story i read is very long, but it breaks down like so:

@npub1ay7…87m2 $70 sounds cheap for a pair, so why not. I did that distance back in 2006 with non-directional AP antennas and a cantenna or pie-tin antenna on the RX side.
More recently we set up Ubnt ptp to get internet to a digital repeater system at the top of a building, and that also worked fine.
With trees you're gunna have to maybe fiddle a lot with the aiming. Just remember it doesn't generally come out of the "bore" of most directional antennas, more like a slight Y shape off the end.

I had my own full rack dev environment, but no managers wanted to tell their devs to switch dev boxes, so, we just did it live.
And pets, not cattle! we had a cattle setup but it was only used to scaffold additional boxes, not to just nuke and reload the active machines.
I tried real hard to convince them that hot-warm wasn't good enough for DR, etc.
