They say time is the scarcest resource (and #bitcoin is the next). However, while there is an absolute truth to it, I think there's a lot of flexibility. I don't mean time management, it doesn't create more time. But thinking about longevity, in a way, more time is created - or cherished and at least not wasted. According to longevity studies, those who live longer, live healthier. So as one creates more time living well, one tends to feel better as well. I choose not to waste time by eating shit and staying stationary, for example. This of course can be transfered to the happiness of others as well so it's a win-win. Let's not waste time (said by Seneca, probably)

I think a good way of orange pilling possibly reluctant people can be made stealthily. Citations of bitcoin articles are often interesting reads and not at all about bitcoin, for example history of money. After having fed enough of this background information, we can utilize the repetition bias (repeated information feels more true than new or unrepeated information) and feed some bitcoinish article that says like "one suggestion to fix this is Bitcoin". Then, repetition bias makes the new reader be like "hey I know that shit about history of money so maybe this isn't bullshit after all".

This article has many good points. One interesting point is the possibility of #bitcoin becoming a measure for other currencies (e.g. x dollars is y satoshis, x euros is y satoshis) - it makes sense. This could happen because of some propeties of bitcoin (e.g. it's global, transparent, uncensorable, anyone can use it). Bitcoin would be equally fair to anyone and in practice there's no actor able to tamper it.
One point for why bitcoin is not just some fun crypto boi money but can be actually important is the personal story found in the "In closing" section.

As USA doesn't seem to care about their financial fuckery (QE, bailout after bailout and all this), why wouldn't they just print loads of dollars and dump them to #bitcoin? Now that you wonder: one example where regret can be beneficial. A child does something that children do and happens to upset his mother. The mother, having some kind of trauma related to anger, learnt behavior or whatnot. The mother impulsively hits the child in anger and immediately regret because it was wrong. The feeling of regret helps the mother to save the situation and calm the child down, be sorry and tell thay mother did wrong and will not do it again, sorry. Regret helps the mother to learn to observe her reactive behavior and slowly learn to let go of the anger. Here, regret is clearly beneficial.
One could say "yes but you do not need the feeling of regret to reach that". Yeah, sure, but I would like to see someone who doesn't feel regret in that situation. That's what being human is like. We have feelings and there's a reason for it. Same with e.g. shame.
Sure, usually one should let go of regret. The point is, it can be beneficial though.

#bitcoin: started thinking where the 21 million and halvening every 210 thousand blocks comes from. This doesn't answer the question wholly (why 4 years etc.), but it's interesting anyway. Is there any better known explanation to this?

Calculate the number of blocks per 4 year cycle:
6 blocks per hour
* 24 hours per day
* 365 days per year
* 4 years per cycle
= 210,240
~= 210,000
Sum all the block reward sizes:
50 + 25 + 12.5 + 6.25 + 3.125 + ... = 100
Multiply the two:
210,000 * 100 = 21 million."
