It does matter because if you use a paid relay or a relay with auth it will not work since the client generates a new pubkey when you try to login and that pubkey will not be allowed in the relay

If you want to use something else to login in websites theres also the option to send an intent for a nostr signer like amber.
You send a client authentication for example and them ask the user to paste the signed event from the clipboard

The remember my choice is not working when denying, it will be fixed in the next release. For now you can remember the choice and press the accept, then open amber go to the permissions screen and in the amethyst permissions you unselect the drafts permission

Other issue is kind 1 as replies. This brings a lot of unnecessary data usage specially for clients that use different screens for replies
And another issue is clients are asking the same data all the time.
If I scroll 20 posts and go back to the beginning and start scrolling again most clients are going to ask the same data again

Unless you know exactly what relay you should connect to fetch this event in amethyst you cant do nothing.
I usually open the event in noStrudel and there it shows an option with a relay list to try to fetch the event if the event is not found

I was able to use a mastodon app a month ago but now it's not working.
If you are connecting to a web app on the phone when you get back from amber the web app stop receiving the relay events and you have to resubscribe to get the bunker response
Maybe there's also some bug in strfry because I'm always getting that the event was saved in the relay but a lot of web apps doesn't receive the event.

you can do both, there's a nostrconnect uri that a client can generate and there's a bunker uri that the signer generate.
In amber to generate the bunker string you go to permissions, press the plus button and then press the new app button

It's hard to change things around here. Most nostr devs has the Bitcoin syndrome and think the word protocol means you should never change anything.
Maybe when @nprofile…hcpn says something we can get clients to change the insane data usage they use, start moving out of kind 1 replies and fix the lists.
The only constant in software is change and if there's a better way to do something you should do it.

When zap.store is ready i'll change the keys and start publishing the hashes
For now you can check if Amber is signed with the key 56dc631996a55c2284790448c7dc9f1dd05df596b2ce4882313633f5602e5fe4 and try to check if the apk is reproducible by building it and see if it matches the content inside the apk
The best way of doing this i found was adapting the signal docker file
