Made the trek down to the new L&B Spumoni Gardens location in downtown Brooklyn today. They specialize in Sicilian pizza, and did not disappoint.

It won’t work as a retail tool because merchants need assurance of settlement. Lightning is better for that purpose. If you as a customer want to pay with ecash over Lightning it still works fine, but there’s no reason for a merchant to have to connect to a random mint to receive your payment because it adds unnecessary friction and risk.

Adoption isn’t going to look like what people think. Most people who use Nostr probably have a different idea of what it even is. A social network? A messaging protocol? Self-custodial identity? A value exchange system?
Everything else is owned by a company that can raise insane amounts of money to build and market their centralized products. Of course you won’t have an easy time articulating this to the world. They’re not ready for it yet.
