Tested various other approaches for this lightning-to-Monero payment bridge & shortlisted two for the project: one for the initial release and another for the long term.
1. Fixedfloat: This is the simplest option to implement, with direct support for BTC-LN/XMR pairs, decent swap speeds, and a user experience that aligns well with expectations.
Con: It relies on the Fixedfloat DEX API. While this is a decentralized exchange, this API reliance still introduces a single point of failure.
2. Atomic Swap: This enables a truly decentralized swap between Bitcoin and Monero, functioning in a peer-to-peer manner without any intermediaries or third-party APIs.
Unlike Fixedfloat, however, it’s more complex, requiring a solid understanding and running nodes for both the Lightning network and Monero blockchain. But once set up, Atomic Swap becomes a far superior option.
I already have a working version of the Fixedfloat implementation, so I'll release an initial version soon for testing.
Atomic Swap is my real focus it will take some time to learn and implement, but it’s the solution I want in the long run, and I plan for it to eventually replace Fixedfloat entirely.

I probably wouldn’t get it right on the first try, but you can’t skip the first tries.
Two important objectives:
1. Features set exactly as described in the post below, with minimal backend, using a serverless architecture.
2. Turning that backend into easily self-hostable serverless relays, with no operational cost, one-click deployment, and trustless.
If users have the ability to self-host at no cost with just a few extra clicks, it eliminates the need for building dumb apps.

Currently, it uses serverless functions for payment verification, swapping, and redirection. This is the first implementation; the final version will be significantly different.
Then we can simply turn these serverless functions into self-hostable serverless relays, thus reducing trust. I will try to post an initial version tomorrow; it's still in very early stages.

Seamlessly transfer funds from your Lightning wallet to a Monero wallet.
Simply enter the recipient’s Monero address. A Lightning invoice will be generated.

Is there any Nostr client with Monero as a zap option?
I can think of a privacy-oriented Nostr client that generates a new account for each post to ensure complete anonymity, with simple POW, maybe Tor-only, and Monero as the zap option.
It will be a little inconvenient and limited in exchange for greater privacy and anonymity. I think it will be an interesting experiment.

Outside of Bitcoin, Monero is the only crypto coin I have a real soft spot for. I don't want it to fail—they’re at least trying to solve a genuine problem.
I also think Bitcoin and Monero can coexist well. Each serves a distinct purpose: Bitcoin as an ultra-sound store of value, and Monero for quick, private transactions.
Also, if you don’t mind, feel free to share your biggest criticisms of Monero. I’d love to hear them.

With these parameters (`cn`, `ln`, and `pr`), the zPay relay initiates payment, verifies it, decrypts, and delivers content after successful verification.

In the current version, it gets saved locally and is accessible in the “purchased items” section on the homepage.
The “purchased items” page is the right place to add simple Nostr integration. After login, it enables optional syncing.
The reason I didn’t go with Nostr integration first is that I wanted paywalls to be as login-free as possible, but for syncing, Nostr makes complete sense.

Math is one of the most powerful subjects you can learn today; it governs almost everything fascinating you can think of.

Even if you’re in a completely unrelated or non-technical field, learning and practicing math will still make you generally smarter.
Regular practice in math physically changes your brain, enhancing its plasticity and strengthening the neural circuits responsible for problem-solving.
Don’t just take my word for it, give it an honest try.
After just one month of consistent practice, you’ll feel noticeable improvements in your brain's ability to process complex information, recognize advanced patterns, and unique problem-solving mindset.
Finally, if you’re not a so-called “math person” (a notion I completely disagree with), it doesn’t matter. Practice it like an exercise for your brain. Even if you don’t become a great mathematician, you’ll be sharper and smarter than before. You have nothing to lose.

Thanks, I think this might be it. I tested some other Nostr web hostings, & this one is by far the best. It's super straightforward & effectively mitigates the fundamental issues.
Interestingly, I was open to all types of options, even outside Nostr. I tested dozens so far, and Nostr is literally the best option I've found. We really might be onto something.

When Semisol says all websites are insecure and can be backdoored by a developer unilaterally at will, he's absolutely correct.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Here's how I'm addressing it with NostrHub:
By bundling my website with its code and turning it into a single executable file, when the file is clicked, it opens the NostrHub page in your browser.
The key part: instead of using my server, hosting, and domain, it uses your NostrHub bundle and runs locally on your device, no server or setup required. Think of it like self-hosting on steroids.
Once you download the website bundle, the developer has no further control over it. The user truly has full control, which is extremely rare on the web. Even if the developer is compromised, no backdoors can be added.
To update, you simply download the updated bundle and replace the previous one.
This approach may not sound flashy, but it genuinely addresses a fundamental issue with the web as a whole.

Brainstorming!
Objectives: Reduce dependency on traditional domains across my Nostr web app.
Why: Traditional domains are centralized and controlled by governments. Not ideal for freedom tools/apps.
Idea: Create a lightweight static website called "NostrHub," which will serve as a quick-access hub to all my other Nostr web apps.
Plan:
1. First Step: Host the lightweight NostrHub website on Nostr relays and IPFS, making it accessible through TOR, IPFS gateways, Freenet, and other decentralized storage or P2P access options.
2. Second Step (my favorite, though a bit unorthodox): Convert the NostrHub website/code into an offline bundle that can be shared as a zip file. When unzipped and clicked, this bundle will open the NostrHub page in your browser, running locally without relying on domains or web hosting—essentially self-hosted.
The offline website bundle also addresses a more fundamental issue with the web ecosystem. Unlike traditional websites, offline bundled sites can’t be unilaterally changed or modified by the developer, making them trustless and truly giving users full control over the website, its code, and any updates.
This approach will eliminate the single point of failure posed by centralized domains, make all apps easily accessible, and provide users with a more private way to access them.
This is a rough outline. Suggestions for improvements are welcome!

Thanks, I did some research. Turns out Namecheap got banned in my country because they refused to comply with government censorship, which is perfect. With an anonymous account and Bitcoin payments, it's the best option for me.
Also, relying entirely on traditional domains isn’t a good move. We need something better or at least more options.

Web-based 'Freedom Tools' can't rely on centralized, government-controlled domain registrars.
Domains not only serve as a single point of failure but also open up significant attack vectors, especially if the state is involved.

It seems the domain registrar I used got banned in my home country. I didn't realize this as I was abroad, and everything appeared normal.
However, my payment processor was based in my home country, which blocked the auto-renewed transaction.
Consequently, I lost my domains, and now they're being resold for a 50x markup.
Please recommend a reliable domain registrar that accepts Bitcoin and isn't susceptible to government censorship.

What would be the best approach for accepting a specified amount of Cashu tokens, getting confirmation, and transferring that amount to a Lightning wallet, specifically Alby wallets?

It doesn’t use a centralized database. The content URL is encrypted, packaged within the URL, & cryptographically signed to ensure integrity (preventing tampering of price and wallet address).
When you click on the URL, it performs calculations, compares the hash & verifies the URL. Once verified, it initiates the invoice creation, which now runs concurrently and can be canceled later if needed. Wallet providers have their own limitations.
Lambda serverless functions can scale up to millions of requests per second, but they have a warm-up time and noticeable latency, especially for users far from a data center. The new implementation uses Edge functions distributed worldwide, which is the best possible option currently.
The short URL is simply a lightweight edge proxy with caching, and in the browser's address bar, you’ll see the original URL.

It encrypts your content, packages it as a URL with a cryptographic signature, and then shortens the URL. It handles all these steps for you, returning a paywalled URL.

Current zPay.live shareable paywall URL takes 2-3 sec to open & 1-2 sec to generate a payment invoice, which isn’t too bad. For U.S. users, it's slightly faster.
New version, however, takes mere milliseconds for both processes 🤌, low latency worldwide 🕊️ using concurrency & edge functions.
After further testing & polishing, it’ll be live.
