🌲Hidden🌲 (npub1g0u…3vfw) ringo (npub14mv…ug9e) right, everything's a parody nowadays, and what isn't is hardly worth reading. i can't think of more than a few books worth reading that were released during the past fifty years. i think art now is afraid of just being with all its force, they have to find some little clever thing for it to embody to poke fun at itself or at what it's based on. because of this pervasive self-awareness found in it it ironically can never embody anything more than itself. it's actually very very hard not to be self-aware when in the process of making, just from the knowledge of what's come before. i think a clean slate in these matters would really reinvigorate art.
