Let’s do it. Tell them to DM me
If a government can “freeze” your money then it isn’t “your” money.
Ok Walker. Imma listen to this tomorrow based on what you say. Jeff better be clear in his anti-statism or I’m holding you accountable.
This should be obvious but I’m not spending my time on Nostr so you have more ability to censor the network on my behalf.
My ideal is you have zero censorship capability and I have 100% censorship capability *within my own feed*.
So yes; I want everyone banning everyone clientside. I want that clearly and directly, not algorithmically.
I’d rather someone accidentally censor me directly than them leave it up to a client dev to interpret their intention.
Why are you interfering with censorship? I want to control censorship - I never chose to give you that power. I don’t care what your opinions of my own censorship list are, that’s my list and you are irrelevant to it.
This is not for you to worry about.
By all means document your concern. If the change fucks up you are covered.
But I don’t use Damus because of your thought processes on what filters are best. I didn’t even know about some filters until 2 days ago so how are you the best person to control this when you can’t even distribute info to your paid users like me?
If I want to block a NIP05 wholesale then that’s on me.
You disallowing this because you think you know better when you can’t convey functionality to your paid users is pretty stupid mate.
Ok.
Force Users into paid services (from 1 Sat) or allow Users to ban whole service providers is the choice.
I’ll take blocking whole service providers 100/100 times. 1 Sat is friction but when we’re left with at best WoT, then 1 Sat is nothing.
If the service provider can’t filter npubs then what the fuck are they charging Sats for?! Useless providers get 0 Sats rather than 1.
You don’t have to control everything Will. It’s ok to palm off certain functionality.
Right now your disallowing me from banning any NIP05 providers by not giving me this filtering which Id much rather have than not.
Focus on relays would be a nice touch for Damus.
I’d like better control over NIP05 followings but more could be achieved faster with relay filtering.
Find others willing to argue with Saylor’s statism - I’ll listen.
Who is building the zap version of Polymarket? https://i.nostr.build/qKHqEAHn0m2SYtxe.jpg
No-one tells anyone at this level anything.
The problem with that is Vitalik is retarded and needs to be told a whole bunch of shit.
If Satoshi revealed himself tomorrow and did that the next day BTC would be down 50%.
This retardation is already baked in for mETH.
You’re right. If some banking system tries to open this up it will end up being destroyed. It’s a Soros/Pound attack vector with 1000X leverage - nightmare stuff.
Saylor doesn’t say. Presumably from the fiat system because he definitely knows about the 21M hard cap. He doesn’t want to reckon with the reality though and gets annoyed that Saif holds the line of rationality.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be a Billionaire.
Not saying I would have become one; there’s luck, and fiat ring kissing, and star alignment involved to make that possible and unconsciously I decided years ago that wasn’t a game I wanted to dedicate my life to.
Instead I accepted becoming a comfortable millionaire. That’s the level of luck and fiat ring kissing and star alignment I was willing to take on for the life I decided I wanted to live.
A level where I never have to bend over for anyone. Where I can walk away from anything, anytime. In which I’m beholden to no-one and can tell anyone to go fuck themselves and my life won’t meaningfully change for good or bad.
My status won’t push humanity to interplanetary status. It won’t reinvent the wheel nor discover Bitcoin. It won’t lead me to be written into history books. But it will allow me to teach the next generation what not giving a fuck looks like.
And I’m ok with all of that.
I would have needed to make very different decisions 15 years ago to really go after this for which I didn’t have the foundations then to do it and I see now I likely would have been the self-destructive type had the overwhelming odds against me succeeded.
I chose right for me.
Others will be more ambitious though.
The world needs people who want to win the race of life as much as it needs people like me to accept they’re not going to be the winners.
Because we can’t all win, winners need people to defeat and that’s nothing to do with fiat - that’s just how progress works.
I haven’t yet found what I really want to win at but I know that when I do, I will. Because I’m not the type to throw in and see what sticks on any old moonshot to defeat dreamers; I won’t throw my life away for just any idea, but when I do commit I know that I will succeed.
I’ve concluded that you don’t need to invent Bitcoin or be in the history books though. You need to push your family forward and setup the next generations to succeed such that they’ll empower the ones with both the will and capability to really shoot their shot.
Generational wealth is like doubles in pool. Setup the next shot, block your opponents, make sure that when your team comes to the table next they have the best shot to play and if they’re capable then make sure they’re the ones to go for the jugular.
Don’t try to be something you’re not. Play the long game.
Play for others on your team to win.
Because Saylor is a statist BitcoinBug.
He can see that Bitcoin will succeed and destroy fiat which he will benefit from with NGU, but he can’t bring himself to accept that means the destruction of Statism as well.

I think the banks will offer bitcoin yield products too, but that wasn’t the point of disagreement.
Saif’s point was that without a BTC printer they will fail because the yield has to come from the fixed supply of 21M. There is no way around that.
You can’t just say “well the banks have the backing of the Government”. That doesn’t actually mean anything because no Government controls the Bitcoin ledger; the banks will be forced into default and no amount of IOUs will be accepted in lieu of UTXOs.
The fiat financial system isn’t going anywhere soon but Bitcoin has very specific rules and they apply for you, me, Saif, Saylor, Jamie Dimon, JPMC, and the US Gov all alike.
Sure some will touch the stove, but they’re going to get burned.
What part of Saylor’s argument is more compelling for you?
“You can't issue yield in bitcoin and issuing yield in fiat is just more of the same shit.”
Correct, we know banks can’t issue yield in BTC because of the fixed 21M, but they can’t issue it in fiat either.
Think about it - banks would print fiat which would be dilutive of the numerator against the fixed supply denominator meaning the real yield would actually be negative against the price appreciation of the underlying Bitcoin.. No-one is going to risk that, they’ll just sell what BTC they need rather than take on counterparty risk for fiat liquidity.
This is why they cant back the dollar/peg with Bitcoin either. I mean they can and probably will try, but it will constantly break because fiat must be inflationary for the system to work.
And a system where the peg breaks frequently is revealed as pointless pretty quickly, people will just flood into BTC which.. further destroys the peg..
Absolute scarcity is a bitch. Humanity has never experienced it before and nothing in the fiat system is ready for it.
Yield doesn’t exclusively come from the fact there is counterparty risk though. There is cost to deferring consumption, and providing the security and matchmaking so whilst banks needed vaults and guards for security (you could do this yourself - private credit has always been a thing), Bitcoin relies on channels which also need security and the matchmaking is routing. That’s why the Austrian definition is broader than purely having counterparty risk and considers duration and other costs for why interest is not inherently bad.
Price appreciation isn’t yield because 1 BTC = 1 BTC, but 1 BTC in a Lightning channel should over time = >1 BTC with a risk that it = <1 BTC. I agree it’s fees in the purest sense rather than “yield” but I feel like this is semantics and not really productive.
Bitcoin doesn’t map one-to-one with legacy concepts so when we apply them they don’t always fit neatly and that’s a big part of where people go wrong. It’s why Saylor is getting it wrong. We have to work within the rules of Bitcoin, imposing outside ideas on it only helps us in the abstract but if our ideas don’t exist within those rules then they’re rough proxies at best and this is an example of that.
There was a NIP written for lightning polls but went nowhere.
https://github.com/toadlyBroodle/nips/blob/master/69.md
True. I shouldn’t have said duration mismatch is the *only* way because Nik is right, collecting Sats fees for lightning liquidity is a yield and operates within the system without violating 21M.
Saylor’s discussing it from a capital perspective though. Borrowing money for a car or a house.
So say Bitcoin hits $13M per Saylor’s projection and a teenager wants to borrow $100k for a used car (inflation is a bitch) - that’s 769,231 Sats for a car.
In this world tx fees are going to be WAY higher. Realistically we’re heading to 500-1000 Sats per vbyte - that’s another 6.5%-13% cost on capital in tx fees.
People aren’t going to pay that kind of fee + interest to do this on the base layer to buy a used car..
Lightning or future L2s are the only feasible way to transact $100k at $13M Bitcoin. We could tack on additional lightning fees to represent the yield but then its not contained within Bitcoin any more, the car and the loan are outside of Bitcoin’s property rights enforcement which is not a knock on Nik’s idea, merely pointing out this doesn’t solve the yield either.
So if we can’t get around the 21M - where does the yield come from?..
WHERE DOES THE YIELD COME FROM IN A FIXED SUPPLY ASSET THAT IS CONSTANTLY APPRECIATING IN VALUE MICHAEL!
It’s possible people don’t want to zap polls but other clients don’t see them from Amethyst Users so a massive chunk of the network doesn’t know when they’re up - makes it hard to judge.
I paid the bounty for this dev, it was intended to give nostr another usecase for zapping and make it costly to try to sway polls but I’d rather have SOME polls in every client even if not with zaps than none.
Everyone could use them but client devs haven’t implemented so they can’t. If they’re a feature in only one client then few will use them.
Finally, an interesting Bitcoin podcast!
It’s been a while since I’ve seen people argue in Bitcoin but @npub1gdu…6nak managed to pull Saylor into an interesting conversation about credit and lending in Bitcoin.
Saylor apparently hasn’t fully thought through the implications of 21M and remains wedded to his fiat ideas.
He expects there to be yield on Bitcoin in future, but never says where it will come from in a completely fixed supply money.. “They’ll have to sell their assets to finance themselves!” - yeah no shit Michael!
The only way to generate yield in Bitcoin terms is to mismatch duration - literally run a Ponzi scheme. But Saylor expects that because the US Government will back the banks that this can’t go wrong 🤣🤣
Saif takes @npub1sfh…ymqt line that capital will flow but HODLers will take equity rather than yield. This is the correct logical conclusion.
I’m not saying Saylor is completely wrong - I do see a future where banks will get into this space and lend and pay yield on Bitcoin.
But they WILL blow up. I don’t give a fuck if they’ve got their own nuclear arsenal let alone the full faith and credit of the US Government behind them, they WILL get out over their skis and they WILL be unable to fulfill their obligations at some point because they WILL greedily try to rehypothecate it in the meantime and no Government will be able to save them.
Saif and Allen both know the economy doesn’t require interest to function, that the world won’t grind to a halt without it - people will still spend money. Saylor just isn’t ready to let go of his statism (as evidenced earlier in the conversation) because he’s become accustomed to Billionaire privileges.
This is why I love #Bitcoin. You can be the CEO of the most successful public company of the past 4 years, all thanks to Bitcoin, and you will still be totally humbled by it unless you fully embrace the system as it is because it won’t be changing for your fiat games!

I can handle the doubters. That’s normal for humans.
I just want to be able to legally put a slug in the doubters who want to come for my wealth when they wake up to where I’m at. Because I know that’s coming, and I know the cops won’t help me one bit when it does.
I’ll be on my own other than them arresting me when I defend myself.

But this is the second time I missed out on Damus updates that matter to me as a User.

A few weeks ago I walked by a cemetery in Melbourne and noticed 3/4 of the graves were broken. These were Christian people who died in the mid to late 80s. The ground had washed out from rains over time and the heavy stone had lost its foundation and cracked and crumbled away.
This was a sunny Sunday and there wasn’t a single person at the cemetery, just after lunch time.
Asian cultures have a completely different connection to their ancestors and dead relatives. They actually care about the people they knew who are no longer here and maintain their traditions of honouring and remembering them.

If you don’t self-custody your Bitcoin you don’t own your Bitcoin.

When you consider Schiffy’s incentives it becomes clear why he has BDS - he wants gold to pump for his heavy bags and is too committed to the pot to change now.
He’s literally cost himself Billions (dude had a fucking bank, he had PLENTY of cash) and his ego will not allow him to accept he was wrong.
Fuel excise. Prices are high because Government want to sting you every time you open your wallet so you can never build wealth and become independent of their system.

If a real Covid hit tomorrow the country would grind to a halt in a week and be MadMax within a fortnight.
She loves to doom-monger but it’s clear she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
Her recent post about big banks and spooky cadres is the perfect example - she projects the current parasite class using Bitcoin as a vehicle to enslave the world with zero consideration of how those parasites have to deal with a set of rules which they cannot change and are completely foreign to them, and what other early Bitcoin HODLers, the blackflag anarchist types, who would be newly rich would do if these people did try such a thing.
If she can’t apply game theory to her future projections then there’s no point listening to her.
Kids today don’t need a University to learn.

The Internet is providing solutions that the old Institutions refuse to adapt to.
Music and Video had to. Education refuses to because they think the credentials they have a monopoly on issuing are still meaningful when in reality some industries are already screening *against* them and more will follow.

The MSTR leverage playbook makes sense if you can access cheap debt but given how relatively poorly the Australian ETFs have performed, I doubt an Aussie version would get the same investment that MSTR or Metaplanet has managed.
Australians are too focused on their housing ponzi, business investment is at the same level now as the early 90s recession.

The Liberals want to use super to prop up the housing Ponzi more directly as far as I’m aware.
Bipartisan support wouldn’t surprise me though
Pretty high.
Current government proposed it, they’re likely to be in minority government next term being dragged further left by our psychotic Greens party and a bunch of champagne socialist Karens who claim to be independent but are really just a front for the renewable energy lobby - together theyll get it done.
Yes, on superannuation (our equivalent of 401k) balances of over $3 million. Thats where it will start of course, won’t take long for it to expand.

I increasingly think (especially with how completely ignorant we have been of our gut biome and the parasites in our systems affect us until *very* recently) that these things have a vastly greater affect on our world, the collective conscious, and our decisions than we want to admit.
I always think about the zombie stories where everyone is infected with some fungus or parasite that turns them into mindless demons… and all I can think is that this *literally* could be happening in some form across our society and we wouldn’t even know it.
Just look around at the mental and physical state of most people. Hard to dismiss outright, imo. #note1e5s…ch7z
Selling drugs involves two consenting parties - my kid would get the first beating and you’d get the second.
And no I wouldn’t delegate that.
Are you allergic to responsibilities or something? Female perhaps?
The NPCs can officially update their narrative. Everyone else knew this 18+ months ago
I as a parent would take responsibility for my children.
That’s what parents are supposed to do - not outsource parenting to the State.
It’s like you’ve forgotten the natural order of things because you’re so awash in modern day nanny statism.
We don’t agree about selling crack.
The State and its interventionism is the problem.
The algos aren’t feeding the kids statism like we used to get from radio and tv and newspapers and public schooling. Kids aren’t buying the facade any more because Millenials and younger are done with this shit and aren’t consuming the propaganda like the Boomers did and do.
That challenges the State’s legitimacy and they can’t have that. Can’t have people consuming unapproved narratives and wondering how big of a mob would be needed to effectively guillotine all of the parasites in parliament to rid ourselves of this nonsense.
That’s all this is about.
If enough people take self-custody of their Bitcoin we win no matter what they try to do.
You should have an ounce per head of your household in case shit hits the fan and you need to get out of dodge to somewhere with electricity where you can use your corn.
I stash an ounce when I travel too. Worst case you get robbed of your phone/wallet/docs, you can get some cash and not be homeless or reliant on others to sort you out.
Who even is that? 😂
What’s hilarious is that whatever judgement people are making was likely just proved true. That this doofus literally thinks he’s “cool” and that it actually defines him as a person because he rides a bike… as would every 10 year old boy 🤣
RFK III will be crusading to stop brain implanting children at birth alongside the 482 vaccines they get by age 5
I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near a custody arrangement like that.
You’d have to imagine that if someone wants those keys they’re going to go a LONG way to get them given what’s at stake, literal nation state level wealth on the line.
I assume there are already intelligence operatives working their way in to Coinbase to set this up. IBIT already has $20B+ - imagine what an activist group could do with that kind of uncensorable capital..
Everyone who says Blackrock will control Bitcoin fails to fully think through the game theory.
If Blackrock has say $1 Trillion in their ETF, the bounty on the heads of the key holders in their multisig is.. $1 Trillion
Not $1 Trillion insurable dollars backed by the full faith and credit of the US Empire and the money printer. But rather $1 Trillion worth of liquid Bitcoin which can be permanently and irrevocably moved to someone else’s control in one block’s time.
The world isn’t ready for Bitcoin going parabolic.
Do you mean the Chromebooks students have to use, or are you thinking we should just go straight to ankle monitors at birth?
It’s not meant to stop kids getting on social media - everyone knows that is futile.
The point is to require the platforms to KYC all Australian users so eKaren can send goons to kick your door in when you question forced medical interventions / a racist referendum / why 1 in 30 people in the country is a foreign student / what dragqueens are doing reading books to children at public libraries / why the economy has shit itself / any other thing they don’t like.

In case #AUStriches thought they could vote their way out of this.
The Opposition Potato in Chief wants social media restricted up to age 16, unlike Labor who want it up to age 13.
That’s the Overton Window of your Liberal Democracy. https://i.nostr.build/cNfPciFox17o4BFE.jpg #note19h9…8kyk
The age limit is the public facing excuse, “for da children”. It’s 100% about associating real world identity with all social media usage.
Victorian Premier and all-around Commie piece of shit, Jacinta Allan, is also going to “age restrict” social media.
This is coming to a Liberal Democracy near you, complaint nanny statist #AUStriches are simply the test balloon. https://v.nostr.build/yHJ0MGqaJ7TYzeAL.mp4

Bitcoin will do more for the world than governments ever could.
Australia stopped releasing this data years ago when the top 10% of earners were paying 51% of income tax which was more than the tax receipts from corporate taxes.
In the US, 1 person is now expected to carry 7.5 on their backs and being denigrated because they’re not carrying more. They don’t get to drive on more or better roads, they don’t get better policing or access to hospitals, no they do it so they’re not imprisoned.
Separation of money and state is the only way to end this true Marxist inequality where the productive people not only make society function, but pay for the privilege of doing so. https://i.nostr.build/cLv09QSIjjfyeIG6.jpg

Twitter is for business
Nostr is for humans
The other thing that always bothered me was that the house had no real purpose, it was just kind of a place to sleep and then amounted to a “skin” for your character in a way. Little function, lots of costs and pretend.
Everything should’ve helped you in the game.
- Like a wardrobe literally let you store away tons of extra armor and outfits with specific attributes, so depending on where you are adventuring, you go back and swap out your outfits.
- Again a forge to repair swords and shields and stuff
- A storage container/closet that let you store materials and bugs, etc.
- A kitchen/oven to cook more potent recipes.
- An icebox to store extra food
- a garden or animal pen to literally harvest plants and ingredients, or farm the animals (they just replicate if you leave them basically)
- A stable for your horses
Etc etc
Then you could add slightly stricter limits to what you could carry, and it would make the game strategy more important and purposeful.
Yeah and it could also be another element of skill vs cost thing. Where you have skills for repairing that you could build up and it would make you able to repair them yourself at your home or something. Might be getting too complicated, but anything that lets you level up a stat and the cost drops, would be a super rewarding metric in gameplay. I think that should happen for recipes and cooking too, then more you do it, the more likely you are to get good results or something.
At this point I’m just inventing a bunch of game mechanics when really all that’s needed is a great story, but considering it against what they added, I think something like that would’ve been way more fun. It also would’ve allowed you to buy stuff for your home/property that wasn’t pointless. You could save up to buy a forge and repair your own swords for free, buy a kitchen to cook recipes more potent, etc.
It would’ve improved known elements to be more engaging and rewarding, instead of adding that stupid “stick stuff together!” which was completely unrewarding, basically useless, and honestly just irritating.
Yeah you should be able to repair every weapon. I’m actually ok with them degrading over time, but then they should also be repairable. If they are going for realistic, that’s far closer to how it actually works.
It would also reinforce the basic idea of taking care of your stuff. It’s not a bad element to add, but I agree the *way* they added it kinda sucked in some ways.
Gaming break:
I loved Breath of the Wild, but have to admit that I have no attachment to Tears of the Kingdom whatsoever.
The sequel feels like the same game, with all of the same basic functions and enemies, and the entire “building and connecting things” mechanic is terrible, imo. I have zero desire to use it ever, and they have these stupid piles of stuff to build a cart with all over the place like it’s something useful, but it’s so annoying to build them, and then you can’t steer worth crap and it almost never gets you anywhere far enough to justify trying to put it together. It seems completely useless other than there are little quests or puzzles that purposefully add elements where you need it to complete a task… but even that feels forced and arbitrary.
And the “sky world” element just kinda feels like somebody said “man we should do something different this time… what if we had a bunch of floating islands in the sky!” And then that was it. Theres no reason for it. It doesn’t matter to the story. It doesn’t seem attached to anything of consequence or have even a mystery around it to solve… it just… is.
Also, despite trying to start it back up multiple times in my “spare time” (as if I have any of that), and still in this moment I have no idea what the story is. There’s literally no hook, or engrossing question to answer, so every element just feels like something arbitrary that I’m watching without even knowing why any of it matters.
Just really sad considering BoTW felt like a revival of the Zelda franchise, and I think they spent too much time wondering how they could capitalize on it as quick as possible, rather than thinking about how to make another really engaging story & game for the sequel.
Important caveat: had the game and all the mechanics been the same still, but the story had been super engrossing, none of that other stuff would’ve mattered.
Anyway, that’s my 2 sats on why the new Zelda game hasn’t been able to convince me to charge my Nintendo Switch for like 6 months.
He says in the video version a bunch of Canadians comment on his tweets because it’s difficult to tell the difference some times.
You COULD buy an airplane with a banana, if you could find consensus with someone willing to part ways with an airplane for a banana. Nothing precludes that tx and you repeating time and energy is irrelevant.
Every transaction involves consensus.
This is what you don’t seem to get.
Spin up your retard client and you’ll get a real world demonstration - no other clients are going to implement Kaspa wallets so you’re not going to be able to use your shitcoin because no-one will be willing nor able to receive it.
You’re going to get a very practical lesson in the economics of shitcoining.
Yes it keeps out the bots. They have to pay to have their npubs whitelisted and they ain’t doing that.
Spam only works when its marginal cost approaches zero.
Money is most definitely a social consensus. It is the very lubricant of a society. It’s what we use so we don’t bash and steal and simply let the strongest dominate.
Go try buy an airplane with bananas and you’ll find there are ZERO takers in the world. You won’t be able to form consensus with a single person to participate in your transaction.
You’ll find exactly the same when you release your Kaspa client and absolutely no-one wants your shitcoin and the social consensus of what money is on Nostr remains Bitcoin.

There are options on both sides.
Clients could provide better NIP05 filtering, let me mute replies from accounts without a NIP05 and let me blocklist keypairs with NIP05s from certain domains.
Paid relays already solve this but getting Users to adjust to them is a bigger ask. We’ve seen them work for 18+ months now but not everyone is willing to stump up money and put their attention behind a paywall.
Using relays with paid gateways to become whitelisted.
https://relay.nostr.com.au for example ain’t relaying Reply Guys.
Money is much more than that, including a network and a social consensus to name but a few.

It took muting 3 different phrases so far but I haven’t seen one since. I only encounter a “one off” that sneaks through then I add the new phrasing. Hasn’t been that big of a deal so far. [knocks on wood]
I was actually thinking about that. I usually am annoyed with the “20 years later” sequels, but that actually looks really good and it’s Burton doing it still and I pretty much like his entire portfolio… so hard to go wrong 😆
Why wouldn’t I just filter out anyone on a .onion in that case?
Dude @npub1gu4…907g we should def just shoot the shit about #Nostr sometime. Let’s do a show together
So we would filter the one Tor domain? Directly using IP is a problem for the spammer moreso than it is the network.
Maybe I’m missing something here but you’ve not explained why this wouldn’t work, you’ve just given more things that I’d want to filter out.
Why socialism always ends in starvation https://image.nostr.build/d27ed087afbd30724a211acd796646fd2f4efd7732fea7edcd5aa406cab7912e.jpg

Then I’d simply add GitHub domains to my NIP05 filter?

I’ve literally seen others stream natively on Damus / Primal
This ☝️
Clients should allow Users to filter/mute by NIP05. No NIP05 then I don’t want to see your replies.
Put the onus on NIP05 providers to not allow their service to be abused by spammers lest all their community get filtered out, then spammers only have the option of doing it from their own domains which can more easily be blocked and will quickly cost too much to be worthwhile.
See clearly https://i.nostr.build/vKIph5OEhhpsbxA4.jpg
Yo! Good news on the Nostr front.
So I managed to link zap.stream and get it connected to Simply’s stream back end.
We should be ready to stream using zap.stream for tomorrow’s but it seems the post is a link that redirects off the primal app and not a native stream within the app.
Any suggestions that would allow us to stream live directly on that app would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah pretty bummed out they cancelled it.
One of my favorite Sci-Fi series 😔
Amazon bought the rights and the continued it until season 6
As a massive film buff from a rather early age, this was one movie I had never even seen. One of those “everybody knows it obviously and I’ve watched random scenes from it numerous times,” yet I had never really watched the movie.
Then, as a bit Tim Burton fan, I decided to do a thorough analysis of his films and themes that stretched across his work in film school, and so I went through and watched all of his movies. Sat down with a crew and watched it for the first time in my 3rd year in college… could not believe how great it was. Instant classic. Now we watch it every Christmas.
Low hanging fruit, extremely short term attention span for playing. Mobile gaming seems built around playing something for 3 minute spans that try to get people addicted to *actually* play for like 2 hours. So everything is built with fast, cheap “thrills” combined in short bursts of play.
The popular Battle Royale game is a great example. I got stuck on that for a few months way back when. Individual rounds are like a minute, but it gives you rewards and incentivizes to keep doing another, and another, and another. Roping you in with “I’ve only got 2 minutes to play model,” but trapping you with “instant rewards.”
Seems to be the way the platform has evolved. Kind of a terrible recipe for the quality of games, imo.
I had Scissorhands in my top 5 🤣
My first thinking was there was some sort of huge tank sticking into the trees, but there’s no spot on the ground with dead grass to back that up, lol
Wait is this a real picture? And if it is, how in the hell does that happen?

I’ve had plenty of evidence as I explained in my OP
It’s all real but you can choose not to believe it and attack my faith by calling it a fantasy but that doesn’t change anything for me nor does it hurt me or make me doubt.
What I can surmise based on the language your using in your responses is that you feel the urge to prove me wrong even though my personal beliefs don’t hurt anyone nor did I bring it up at random. Hodl asked a question and I responded. You felt the urge to respond to it.
I’m confident that the reason I believe you are so passionate about attacking / mocking my personal beliefs is that you have to prove to yourself that you are right because even if there is a 0.000001% doubt in your mind that I’m right and your wrong the idea of looking into the abyss and realizing it was all real but have run out of time to do anything about it must be absolutely terrifying. Even if it’s subconscious, this is where I believe your aggression comes from.
I’m at peace with my beliefs, are you sure you are?
I disagree, it sounds complicated but it would really be 3 things:
• did someone in your WoT mute/mark as spam?
-1
• does someone in your WoT follow?
+1
• did someone in your WoT repost, like, or zap?
+1
Could literally be that simple. And all this info is basically being pulled together anyway. Spammers will naturally end up with negative scores very quickly.
Likes or shares could defend against someone just being a tool and calling someone a spammer because they disagree with them.
And new accounts/posts with no connection to your WoT won’t be hidden by default, they will simply have a score of 0/neutral.
I think a “weighting” system needs to be developed. Where a trust score is aggregated, and specifically a “mute” and “spammer” tag are taken as negative scores. Then basically anything neutral or above 0 is shown to the user. This would mean you still see new people as long as your WoT doesn’t label them as spammers or mute them. Then obviously if someone you follow reposts them or likes something, then you see it as well. Maybe engagement of some sorts should be considered a positive to the scoring? 🤔
Obviously easier said than done, but I think a combination of things will be the best result in the end. Testing to see which has the optimum of “still sees new things, but sees extremely few spammers” will just take time.
Best thing would be to have a spammer tagging system so that the WoT shares a defensive spam pool. Because I know we ALL spent time muting and reporting the same “reply guys,” probably 1000s of times.
“The Expanse” is a great TV show.
Highly recommend is you like sci-fi

The darkness. you never forget it. it’s so real.
Who said anything about prosperity?
Jesus was literally tortured and put to death.
My only responsibility is to do good and have faith in christ. Whatever comes my way is what was meant to be. I find peace knowing that when I pass everything will be okay because I was good when I lived.
You seem to put a lot of effort into replying to my post. You seem to care a lot about my beliefs while I accept yours. You seem to want to push people away from faith. Why is it so hard for you to accept my belief in god, while expecting me to accept yours. Why do you feel the necessity to prove me wrong?
If you believe I’m wrong why does it matter to you? Why doesn’t it bother you? Why do you feel the need to reply?
I was once in your shoes and asked the same questions to those who believed but then I experienced something not of this world.
You can do whatever you’d like but one day like all of us you’ll face the abyss. That’s normally when everything becomes clear, not before.
All you have to do is have faith and do the right thing. Everything will work itself out.

Ooooooh, lol. Yeah NEVER risk other people’s money unless you are ready to cover every cent/sat… and if that’s the case then just use your own money anyway.
You could put it out there and tell your fantasy football team that they should do this with half the money if they actually want to make a gain on it and split the earnings though.
Never too late. For fantasy football money I’d absolutely do it. But I’d use all of it personally 😆
But in terms of probability of return, the comparison isn’t really even a contest. #Bitcoin wins hands down.
Sometimes shit happens and it makes you feel like an idiot, and a failure. And you realize just how much you wasted and how much you promised that wasn't even close to where/what you thought it was.
Sometimes you put enormous amounts of personal capital and work into something and the results end up being "fuck all" and all you can feel is embarrassed, stupid, and angry.
I guess what I'm getting at is that's its ok ,and at some point that's just how shit is going to unfold if you try to do something useful.
Doesn't mean you will end up with what you hoped for, and that's really just part of the process most of the time.
"get back on the horse..." feels trite, but it's really all there is. Give up, or keep going are the options on the table.
I'm not fucking giving up so...

“I know Bitcoin is a low-float scam” says the guy who holds the most utter trash money from an integrity standpoint that humanity has ever used…
Just a heads up for anyone who posts media and especially for those who want to be nice to @npub1nxy…avr7 servers:
This video started as 184 MB, but I did the quick conversion I always do for web media, and the mp4 version was 3.9 MB.
That’s a 97.9% reduction in size!
Handbrake is a free tool that I use constantly, and you can use ffmpeg CLI if that works better for you (or you want to build an auto-tool with Ai to do it with a simple drag and drop function). But you can convert video to vastly more efficient formats without even being able to see the difference in quality, *especially* if you did a screen capture.
Many don’t realize how important that step is, so it’s good to remind people who don’t think about it. #note1xxx…e382

I struggled with this for a while @HODL
I was an atheist / agnostic before I was very close to dying in 2015. I spent 7 days unconscious at the hospital. I didn’t have a “near death experience” hallucinations of the after life etc. Just darkness / nothingness. This is what I believe “hell” is, literal oblivion, it’s terrifying but it also brought extreme clarity that our actions in life matter and I connected with something that is not of this world while I was there.
After I came back and since then I can tell you without a doubt in my mind. 1000% certainty, God / Christ is real, It all happened, it’s all true, heaven is real, good is real, evil is real, the soul is real, being a good person is important, honesty / truth is important, integrity is import. Even when no one is looking.
Sometimes you’ll be hated for doing the right thing but things we’ll always end up working in your favor at the end. It’s like a cheat code to life to follow the “narrow path”.
He will always have your back and he hasn’t let me down once even in the darkest times you’ll see that it was for a reason at the end.
What you do in the mortal realm is what you’ll be judged for when it’s all over. Cannot explain it or show proof but I know it to be true in my core.
Also, once you feel it. It cannot be unfelt, it’s so obvious in your face but that’s the hardest part for most people because all the things you use to determine truth in the flesh (vision, hearing, logic) doesn’t apply. It’s a matter of the heart only and it’s extremely personal. You can be shown the door but only you can open it.
All that being said I don’t push my beliefs to anybody or try to convert people. Nor do I care what they do with their personal lives. I know if I do good, good things will happen to me and when I die (hopefully a long time from now) I will be alright. I do not fear death, it’s become clear to me that it’s a feature of being human, not a bug. These companies think they can make billions without having to learn anything or take any responsibility... they will learn the very, VERY hard way that this isn't the fiat world.
#Bitcoin will always punish the fiat mind.

The Dems aren’t serious, but they’ve pushed their base so far left that their rhetoric has to reach into these psychotic places and that leads the usual apologists and talking heads to show their true colours.
But if it did somehow come to pass, I’m confident my chaos theory would be much closer to reality than whatever the supporters envision would happen. The market distortions would be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
I make a point about the game theory of #Bitcoin going parabolic - the early HODLers sitting on thousands of coins are disproportionately black flag anarchist types, we’ve never seen those type of people amongst the upper echelons of the financial elite. If they truly believe Bitcoin could free us from Statism, what might they do with that wealth?
Are the key holders protecting the Blackrock ETF safe in that world where there’s a multi-Trillion dollar bounty on their heads, 1 block away from permanently and irrevocably being under someone else’s control?
A scenario of taxing Billionaires like this who already have those levels of wealth might be more manageable for the parasites, but by how much? Only takes 1 or 2 well funded rogues who calculate they’ve got more to gain flipping the table than playing by the new rules..
Rob Zombie is going on next!

Good idea. Share your experiences, will be interested to see how it goes
Disagree. The global economy is a house of cards on the best of days as it stands.
Introduce a new variable of the asset rich needing to unload illiquid holdings en masse the same time every year and you’ve got a recipe for total fukn carnage. Massive capital flight on announcement and massive unrest on enforcement.
Throwing a randomiser on and giving preferential treatment to some at the expense of others would just be bonkers, like 100X volatility on already 100X volatility.
Billionaires might as well just form private armies and go hunt the political class - it would be way cheaper. Then they’ll turn those forces on their business rivals..
It would be a government-induced version of an Ancapistan nightmare

Good Morning, Nostr or slavery.
It’s a method to crash the economy.
If you look at it like that, you’ll see the insidiousness of the commie plan.
Time preference you learn through Bitcoin.
Normies think #Bitcoin is like a stock tip, that Bitcoiners are no different to the GME Apes who just “like the coin”.
They have no concept of ploughing 1000+ hours of study into something as arcane as the history of money, fiat, austrian economics, game theory etc. These are people who by-and-large don’t learn anything unless they have to for their job so the idea a group of people would go into such depth studying such boring things doesn’t resonate.
They can’t see how Bitcoiners come to their conclusions because they can’t imagine themselves or anyone putting in that much effort.
It’s a good time to consider options.
None of these trends are going to improve any time soon. Labor think they’re miracle-workers as Aus was the best performing country after 2008 GFC so they’ll try to spend their way out of the problems but it’s just going to exacerbate all the problems now - they’ll likely end up in a minority Gov with the nutjob Greens and champagne socialist Teals pushing them to psychotic stuff like Canada has had.
Look at health and NDIS for more warning signs. https://i.nostr.build/0oXmo3XLCZjFNiuf.jpg https://i.nostr.build/nwF4bo6eKlL8WR2c.jpg
People think Bitcoiners are just speculating.
What they don’t understand is we’re speculating from a position with huge information asymmetry.
That’s why Bitcoiners say to study it - you need to learn to get the information asymmetry they have.

Yeah I have and in English I do find that a lot faster to read but not in other languages.
Doesn’t help at all with tonal languages for example.
Interesting thought.
I’ve noticed there are some words I just cannot remember in other languages despite repeated exposure and others that I’ll pick up after one go. My speculation is it’s how my brain is processing language through syntax and structure, some words just seem intuitive and others are “wtf is that?”

The final question is “what is government?”
The US needs this so bad it isn’t even funny. You could literally delete 80% of govt and no one but their employees would even feel it. But then we still need to cut 80% of what’s left so people *can* feel it and THEN we actually have a shot at stopping the govt from destroying our gd country. #note1pqx…hvc6

Would be possibly willing to invest in that.
Sadly very true. A Trump win with California seceding first would be best. Not sure how they’d go hot if it’s Texit though because they wouldn’t win that and it would still be better for the rest of the world, albeit messy stateside.
Had our broken dryer looked at by an 80-something Vietnamese bloke who used to build them in a factory, not worth replacing the heating element. His advice was to buy the cheapest one with no electronics just physical controls, and “never buy a washer/dryer”. Half of the comments think I'm talking about apps, and the other half understand what I'm really talking about because they've had to buy a washing machine post 2015.
That said, I do also despise the "subscription everything" bullshit. Ran into that today. I'm just about sick of paying for ridiculous subscriptions just to use an app one fucking time. Or having to sign up and remember to cancel when I'm done, which inevitably means they take two months of pay from me before it registers that i forgot to go back and cancel it.
The pirate bay is coming back
#note17p5…lg09
I wasn't even meaning applications or software, I was meaning truly simple fucking tools and devices that used to be common like washing machines, dryers, cars, etc. A dryer is the dumbest machine in the world, and they've made it into the most pointlessly complicated bullshit that could even be conceptualized. And a basic option literally *doesn't even exist anymore.*
Its like they outlawed common sense.
How can you be a Bitcoin maxi and still defend gold as a Store of Value?
We don't know if there's gold on that specific space rock, but we do know that gold is a natural element that occurs in mineral veins, which come from meteors after the planet cooled, so all the gold we have comes from space.
Is there a flaw in my logic?
WTF happened to simple shit that just works?
Elon is working on a fully reusable rocket that aims to bring the cost of putting payload into orbit down to $100/kg. #Gold is worth $80,000/kg. That's a helluva arbitrage opportunity. The first company to return metric tons of refined precious metals from 16 Psyche will make the market like DeBeers. There are three companies currently working on solving the problem of asteroid mining right now, two American and one Chinese.

He got yearly pains from the stingray somehow, don’t know how that worked. Also sank a boat, rolled his car, and burned down his shed making sinkers 😂
This is game theory playing out.
If company entities want to hold large amounts of cryptocurrency, which they have to publicly disclose, then they are going to become massive targets because just a few people will be holding the keys.
If you hold 5% of all Bitcoin, the bounty for someone to successfully breach you is 5% of the network - that’s going to be massively appealing.
This is not TradFi where you can call up the Bank or Government and get them to rollback transactions; once those funds move once that’s it, game over.
The world isn’t ready for this but it’s definitely happening. Only question here is if it’s really North Korea or a 3-letter agency doing this and using NK as a figleaf.

GM,
When people say "Ai will be more intelligent than humans," this doesn't mean that they will be able to predict what humans like, or know what will be highly valuable or worthless, which memes will go viral, or what the future will actually look like.
Those problems aren't "intelligence" problems.
It may very well be a complete waste of capital to make "vastly smarter than human" Ai, for the simple reason is that people won't care and won't even be able to judge how good it even is. Think about it, when ChatGPT 5-8 and Claude 5 and Llama 6.2 all get so good that you can't tell the difference, and where you can't tell which output is better than the other, why would you pay 3x as much for the "super intelligence" model than the "gets me the results I want" model?
I increasingly think model intelligence will act more like computer graphics in video games. For about 15 years "better graphics" was literally everything. If you had better graphics you had the better gaming console. But then one day it just stopped mattering becuase graphics got good enough where the cost to make it better outweighed the fact that people just wanted good games. It simply looked "good enough."
What if this same thing happens to the "smarter models" in LLMs? 🧐

Mutiny had other problems mostly because it was a browser based wallet and was always on the struggle bus, Phoenix and Breez (and those I’ve used with Breez SDK) have worked fantastically. They will try to convince you that holding a money that doesn’t steal from you is dangerous to society.
But that’s actually one of the reasons I think CTV would be so valuable. I think I could feel like the trade off to ossification after CTV isn’t that bad. Right now the risk of ossification is a net negative, imo. And plenty of people think we need far more than just CTV, while some argue we should ossify now.
I fall in the middle. I don’t hate the idea of ossification because of what I just mentioned, however I know that CTV opens up a lot of possibilities and we could still be figuring out really awesome constructions for things even a decade down the line if we had that primitive.
In other words, I’d feel like we have a much easier path to the future we want even if we ONLY got CTV before it ossified, and it would be low risk enough that I wouldn’t have to worry about having gone too far either.
I think coracle and satlantis are the only clients/tools I know explicitly utilizing this so far. Spam isn’t bad enough for it to be a necessity, but it will be soon, for better or worse.
Web of trust.
You could auto-mute anyone who is completely outside your web of trust without any one step connection to accounts you know. And the ability to see it in the list so you can expand, versus completely hiding it could also be based on degrees of separation. ie. More than 6 degrees? Hide completely. 5 degrees or less, leave a “show post” option for muted comments.
Leveraging the web of trust is a massively underappreciated tool, imo.
PSA
This place will likely be overwhelmed with trolls, morons, and angry and bitter people one day soon like all the rest. Muting will be a very necessary tool in your toolbox (and it even helps other with your web of trust), don’t forget to use it before getting angry and fighting with people trying to trigger you.

It’s gold but with better properties than gold; you’re definitely on the right track but I wouldn’t expect it to find that equilibrium until well after 4-5X gold.
The difficulty of putting a price on that is Gold is one of the first things that will lose its monetary premium to Bitcoin even though it’s gonna keep going up due to monetary expansion. They’re both moving targets against each other.
I don’t expect Bitcoin will ever fully take the premium out of real estate, not this century any way. Bonds though are a good shot, who knows with Art and other oddities - probably a mixed bag.
Bitcoin will be a lot more integrated into the workings of the digital realm before it levels out volatility, whilst the knowledge is asymmetrical it’s gonna keep swinging wildly.

If I hadn’t built up the conviction, understanding and low time preference I have in #Bitcoin, it’s likely I would not have had the conviction, understanding and low time preference I’ve gained for #Nostr.
Bitcoin had to come first for me, but it set the foundation for understanding why Nostr will become a pivotal technology over the next decade.
We should now be thinking about this as full stack sovereignty. Like how Bitcoin will be built in layers, so too will the sovereign digital realm.
It will take time but we’re already seeing the convergence with innovation in “politics” and how people organise with things like Nostrocket (Companies), Cashu (Banking), and Ditto (Communities) not to mention infrastructure (Mesh networking, NWS, Mostr, Outbox, Private DMs, Holepunch etc).
You are here participating in the realisation of The Sovereign Individual thesis. Freedom in creativity leads to indecision and feeling overwhelmed. When you leave yourself too many options, you don't have direction. Which is why its often best to be given a very restrictive prompt, or to just start writing **something,** because as soon as you put down any idea, you've constrained your world, you introduce a problem and an environment, and now you have to find your way out of it.
In other words., restriction and limitation are actually the mother of creativity.
WHAT IF... when Github or Google or App Store or whatever public index was hosting a developer's or author's content/files/code/etc decided to remove it due to "regulations" or "reasons"... what if you could still follow the key of the creator and get it directly from them, or from any other host who insisted on keeping it available?

Trump doesn’t believe in anything I really doubt he even understand what bitcoin is but for the time being it might get him some votes so he loves it.
You'd be surprised how quickly your taste/conditioning for it fades if you just cut it out. And you1000% CAN cut sugar. The only reason you "cant" is because you say and believe that you can't, but literally anyone can. I bet you've done vastly more difficult things in life. If you legit want to be healthy and cut sugar there's literally nothing at all stopping you. It's just a choice.
If you don't want to then that's fine too. But don't gaslight yourself and say you "can't," because you can. Just choose to do so, or don't. Then accept whatever that decision is.
(I probably brought way too much seriousness to this simple and lighthearted post 😆, but I think it's an important issue and all of us lie to ourselves a lot and we dismiss how powerful it is to be genuinely honest with ourselves, and just accept that we are in control and be ok with whatever our decisions are rather than hiding behind "I can't" -- there's a lot of power in that, imo)
I will never get why so many people don’t like this film. I really wish the alien franchise took this concept much further.
Don’t ask what Nostr can do for you, ask what you can do for Nostr.
It appears that DeepFakeLabs and its dozens of forks and other projects have all been removed from Github... which ruins a meme I am working on because there are shockingly few alternatives to this.
Does anyone know how to get ahold of the linux installer still? The torrent only has the EXE.
Did you type this in Fountain? Because I am seeing this in Damus and am responding in my normal notifications.
I can understand people not abandoning traditional social networks where they’ve made big investments of time & energy to build an audience…
BUT I cannot understand refusing to invest ANY time and energy into a protocol that can’t be shut down.
It’s like buying a huge, expensive house, filling it with your favorite things, then putting candles in every room, but refusing to add a smoke detector or buy insurance. You’re just begging to lose everything.
Any investment made into a centralized service, ESPECIALLY one that is known for censoring people and shutting down accounts for no reason, should at MINIMUM require an equal investment into a decentralized alternative.
If everyone who was aware of the problem did this, #Nostr wins.

“Smart contract” is a buzzword. Lightning and multisig can do what you explain above. It’s just more annoying and requires more interactions. Are we getting rid of those things because of “smart contracts”?
CTV is not a “framework”, Sapio is. It’s a coding language to work with bitcoin script, CTV is not the problem here and I also think you misunderstand MEV on top of this. There are already options contracts in Bitcoin, it’s already financialized. Also something that you can’t stop. There have been futures contracts for years.
It’s completely impossible to stop practically everything you listed and maybe I’m wrong, but you don’t seem to understand what the *actual* problems with those things are, rather than thinking there’s some concrete line where it does/doesn’t exist and thinking that CTV leaps over it.
This is great, more of this!
The Kaspa retards will realise there’s a dozen of them in a circlejerk and if they find value in the content on Nostr they’ll switch to a client which supports Bitcoin like everyone else uses, otherwise it’s just going to be abandoned anyway.
Shitcoiners will be forced to learn how money works in reality the hard way.

The common story is people get hyped in a bull market, they get on one of these shitcoin casinos which prominently market altcoins and people take the default financial advice of diversification so rather than concentrating their capital into Bitcoin they buy multiple coins.
The flows coming from TradFi won’t be in the casino in the first place.
Where are the institutions/companies/nations going to gain access to the shitcoins? That’s the difference.
This is the difference this cycle.
People aren’t going to be on Coinbase confused at which is the real Bitcoin, or being tempted into a shitcoin casino.
This bull market the flows will be from TradFi into Bitcoin and not gambling on garbage to diversify. https://i.nostr.build/6z5tiIRovviSUnB7.jpg

Anyone developing new apps for #nostr should be making PWAs. This time where apps can still get in Appstores at all will be fleeting, it’s the easiest way for the State to restrict Nostr and they will play that card.

It means you can make direct connections to devices, to peers, to any other computer *using* the nostr social database.
In other words, what if you could connect to your own node, encrypted and without any setup and from anywhere, just by going through nostr relays? What if you could share a file with a friend by simply punching in their npub and they accept it? No middle men, no accounts, no subscriptions, no setup.
Between this and what we are doing with the pear stack, we are going to solve all of the connection, latency, encryption, and authentication problems for all of our tools and I'm fucking HERE FOR IT!! 🔥🔥

You can’t control out of band payments in any way whatsoever, to suggest you can is silly, imo.
CTV doesn’t “enable smart contracts” in some elaborate way that isn’t already possible. Lightning is a “smart contract,” multisig is, atomic swaps are. What you describe is a completely generic idea and is 100% possible right now with all the op codes we have. CTV does not suddenly make a shitcoin trading empire possible where it wasn’t before, it literally formalizes, simplifies, and removes multiple interactions needed to do many of the same things we are doing *already.*
Multisig doesn’t scale to large groups because everyone has to be present. All CTV does is make it so parties can make changes independently and without constant cooperation and synchronized signatures from every single party.
So I disagree with the whole framing. It doesn’t make any sense in the context of what the tool is.
Melbourne has had 6-7 days over 20 in the last 3 weeks, most mild winter I can remember and complete opposite of the last two which were terrible and proper long. We had a winter storm on Melbourne Cup day 2 years ago

Australia could be either the best or worst choice for the next Nostr unconference.
We have DigitalID rolling out by the end of this year. We also have an mis- & disinformation bill in parliament that will roll out within the next year which seeks to give our Ministry of Truth the ability to remove content from the internet if it could result in “harm”, and “harm” is so broadly defined (pic 1) that it’s going to give them free reign to censor anything and everything.
The MoT run by eKaren (an American woman who is 100% a CIA asset) has been tasked by parliament to develop a roadmap toward social media identity verification and have it implemented by August 2025 (pic 2).
This is now being publicly pushed as FoR dA cHILdReN after eKaren censored videos of a Bishop being stabbed by an immigrant, ordered Xitter to take them down GLOBALLY and then lost a court battle because they didn’t have that authority - they’re shoring up the law so the courts won’t have any choice but to allow them do whatever they want, and they can identify anyone who posts wrongthink.
By the time the next unconference rolls around it’s likely #AUStriches will be fully KYCed for all other social media.
So obviously we need #nostr, and interest here could be massive - possibly the first version of the event to break out beyond our existing sphere.
However, whilst the odds are low, they’re non-zero that the Gov will fuck this up. Denying visas is their most likely course of action (if any) - they’ve done this heaps of times for politically unfavoured individuals.
I don’t think they’ll gulag Nostr CEOs next year, odds of that are very low, but I don’t know they won’t either. More likely go after relay operators.
But this is probably the last chance to do it in Aus. Go out 12 months beyond these laws rolling out and I reckon then it would be too uncomfortable and the Gov would be more ready to come down on this.
I reckon it’s now or never. https://i.nostr.build/D3SzkllYEPs9Q19V.jpg https://i.nostr.build/c7CrdluD9HCNQAY4.jpg
Is it me or does it feel like Nostr adoption is starting to snow ball?
Engagement is through the roof!
I read through most of what you linked to here and I haven’t found a single connection between MEV and CTV in any of it.
In what way do you think CTV will cause this issue? None of what it does can be done *to* someone, you have to sign and place all the signature requirements into it yourself. The first article does a decent job of explaining why it’s very useful, but also makes almost no change in the security assumptions, because it’s just another type of restriction you can place on your own coins.
Literally Lightning is trying to do exactly what CTV does, except in a complicated, multi step, numerous interaction way. So if the basic function of CTV is bad somehow, then so would a multisig that attempts to have rules not in the actual transaction to adhere to…
ie. You and I are in a multisig and we agree that .1 belongs to you and .2 belongs to me. CTV literally just makes that simple and easy to understand, instead of complicated and needing multiple interactions and signings.
Did you mean to post Alex’s own article on MEV or was the “in case you forgot” a joke about that?

Thats a fair argument and I don’t pretend to know about all the different options. I’ll check out the Brink episode. Thanks for the suggestion.
In order to make sure my “on topic” comment isn’t too vague, I’m saying that we both completely agree on this point and the argument is about *what* the conservative, save for nuclear grade options are.
So to equate CTV with an open API is to misunderstand that I’m saying CTV appears not only the safe, and most conservative option while still getting the functionality we want, but that explicitly comparing it to previous soft forks, it’s *easier* to justify than a bunch of things we’ve already soft forked for.
So what I’m saying is that I agree with basically your entire post. I *disagree* on where CTV falls in that risk profile.

Yupe, total dropped ball on my part.
We know a lot of people listen to us on audio!
I completely get the sentiment, I’ve advocated for more conservatism for a long time, but CTV **is** the conservative approach and it **is** something explicit that we know the limits of.
I think the notion that we shouldn’t implement simple, very contained functions because we haven’t predicted everything that could be built with them yet is a misunderstanding of how and why we should be conservative.
Example: The justification to reject timelocks or multisig because no one had yet predicted the existence of lightning and how it would work would be silly.
It’s literally an impossibility to know what will be built with new tools, that’s the whole point, but how they are contained and HOW they work within the transaction is the concern. And CTV is essentially little more than a hash lock, something we understand in dozens of other contexts and with a very simple and very environment limited function.
Dude!

And how on earth do you gauge op_vault as better here? Seriously what do you know about op_vault? It’s actually more expressive than CTV as I understand it.
How is that terrifying? And how exactly have you reached the conclusion that taproot has been responsible in any way for centralizing mining? Are you saying people wouldn’t be using pools without it? Or that mining somehow wouldn’t have been financialized?
I think you’ve equated cause and effect with things that have nothing to do with each other.
“I’m not in favor of generic expanded capabilities to the core protocol where we don’t know the limits of how they will be used.”
This is exactly why CTV makes the most sense. It’s a simpler primitive than probably any soft fork we’ve had since the beginning of Bitcoin

I would try a resync or something. Probably there just the wallet isn’t registering for some reason. There’s no real way for them to send your bitcoin to keys that don’t belong to you because all they can do is force close the transaction you signed on their side. Which means it is sent to your address unless it’s just stuck in the mempool, but because fees are low I doubt that’s the problem.
Keep us updated, happy to help if I can. Don’t stress, your coins are very likely accessible, just something not picking it up properly for some reason.

Yeah it’s all about scale of imbalance and the long term sustainability of systemic fraud. Sound money destroys the ability to scale violence and fraud both in size and then also its sustainability across time. It won’t solve violence or corruption, it will only make it smaller and more distributed.
Thus there are likely to be more prominent mafias and smaller violent rackets of sorts, but these have always been there, only overshadowed by the massive mafia of the state. So these others will simply be more visible due to the lack of control and prominence of the nation state.
Similar to how few people are concerned about a roach problem while their house is on fire.
That's the same experience I'm having. Will spend more time here as a result. Glad to have found you and I look forward to seeing more of your posts 😄
I resonate with this tremendously! The vibe change is palpable, and that's so strange, as the content is read through the same screen. Without trying to sound like I believe mumbojumbo, it's as if this platforms carries a different energy.
It is somewhat troubling how most people are 1) unaware it's happening and 2) we who are aware are mostly turning a blind eye
I guess its is because we are 3) building a better alternative
totally. for me, politics is what keeps me in the loop. when I read a piece of content with politics it feels like I'm missing out. when I avoid it, I feel relaxed and calm.
not hard to know what I prefer
same. my mind wishes to reject it but struggles to. have to take a stance
So you think that if someone calls themselves “inclusive” but then actually bans people, refuses to have open conversation, and bullies everyone who thinks even slightly different than them… that nobody can talk about it because that’s destructive to “inclusivity?”
How exactly would you distinguish someone who called themselves “inclusive” but who was actually the opposite if you can’t even read a post about it? 🤔

What could possibly go wrong!
“When the power goes out..”
Bitch if your area loses electricity, you’ve got bigger problems than not being able to access your savings (which you still could anyway). Our entire modern existence depends on electricity, 95% of people are unprepared to deal with this situation so you’re looking at social breakdown in days. All banks are offline so cash will run out fast, shops will be stripped bear and can’t transact, no medicines, no food warehousing, supply chains on the brink etc.
“When we get quantum computing..”
Bitch IF we get quantum computing the entire fucking internet is broken. Bitcoin will be the first major system to handle it and upgrade to post quantum. Your bank is gonna take months to fix it, and everything else months to years.
These are the most common I see on Xitter nowadays and all they show is the persons complete inability to think through a cascading failure scenario and assign probabilities.
The latter point was hammered home for me during Covid where people were genuinely concerned over something that statistically had less odds of killing them than driving. They never thought to freak out about the possibility of dying when they got in their car but they did over a virus because they couldn’t grasp the probability of different events and were led solely by emotions.

It is a refreshing perspective to consider, when my beliefs have caused much animosity and resentment:
@npub1a2c…w83a suggests that the introduction and need for speed in the settlement layer of domestic and international transactions not satisfied by the properties of gold, was the main incentive for policymakers and central bankers to issue more paper claims for gold in relation to actual gold held in reserves.
It was the evolution of technology in the global financial system, or lack thereof, that incentivized what we today call money printing, not greed or evil.
When I understood her point, my heart started to heal from the correlated anger and frustration for cental planners.
Sure, they are to blame for misusing the system to their advantage, however not for the ability to misuse it.

This👇 is what Western Liberal Democracy where no-one has skin in the game, leads to.
Too many think they can just parasite off the productive class who make society actually function and demand the world run on their vibes by empowering people who they like to listen to.
But that is not how the real world works. No-one is going to like the wake up call but it’s coming sooner or later, best be sure you’re not caught up in the crossfire. https://i.nostr.build/Fu5obDYiA5LmQL1p.jpg #note1xfk…pk68

As a Bitcoin media organization we feel like it’s our responsibility to promote protocols where not only can people transact freely but can also speak freely without any risk of censorship
Appreciate the support from @npub1cj8…rz4u and @npub16c0…6nvr on this front. If anyone else has additional resources for me so the Simply Bitcoin team can learn to post our video / livestream content to Nostr it would be highly appreciated 🙏

I agree but my problem is even if Vance had his way and the cat ladies were ejected, give it 50 years and they’ll be back in charge.
Democracy is the vehicle that enables socialism. The European monarchs weren’t out there redistributing people’s wealth to others in the societies they ruled over, they extracted wealth for their own extravagance and war, but they had to have skin in the game in that system too for their heirs.
Anyone in Bitcoin knows it’s a lot easier to cut off one head (of a bad Monarch) than take on a hydra (democracy/oligarchy). Yet whenever I say something like this the statism will shine through from plenty of Bitcoiners who can only conceive of reforming this system with no understanding that it’s always going to revert to the same.
Won’t somebody think of the children?! https://i.nostr.build/fiGrzEopNCVhKnNe.jpg
Rabble will always believe that centralised authorities are needed to protect people from the bad that happens in the world, and no amount of hypotheticals or real world case studies will convince someone like him otherwise.
The challenge and tension comes because individualists understand that perspective, but the collectivists can never understand the perspective in reverse.
Democracy is completely unsustainable. It will always be weaponised against the people by those in charge to pander to a voter base which gives them the legitimacy of the system, at the expense of the productive class. https://i.nostr.build/pEInfwntvJSYVhb6.jpg #note1xfk…pk68

I can’t wait for the day that you can livestream to the masses via decentralized protocols rather than centralized platforms.

Not really, but that is something I do alot just becuase of the sats back.
Simply explaining to people that you live on a #Bitcoin standard causes them to stop and think. That I could both get paid, and then pay others in bitcoin and only use dollars when i need to pay fiat bills or work with other vendors/businesses, and immediately convert back to BTC otherwise.
Every time I have explained this to people following their inevitable, "Oh you trade bitcoin?" and I answer with "No I never trade, that's for people who want to lose money, I simply use Bitcoin as my money, I don't keep any value in dollars that I care about over the long term," — they are always surprised and it clearly shifts their view of what bitcoin is and how it works.

Both of them are going to print money and that impacts the world. They’ll each have different proxy war preferences but Aus is on the hook regardless.
If like me you believe the West is headed to war in the coming years then the best outcome for #AUStriches is US states seceding and a US Civil War. End this global empire nonsense and stop bombing brown people to keep the oil trade denominated in USD, go smash up your own system and let the world out from under the yoke.

1 month verdict on the Instax Mini Evo
It’s a great concept, enjoyable and fun, but the quality is rather lacking as a camera.
Sensor is equivalent to something you’d have seen in early digital cameras 20 years ago. You’ll need to line up shots really well and don’t bother with moving subjects. Fuji should really have packed better gear into this thing for the size of it.
That said, the physical prints are really cool. We’ve taken it to parties, dinner with friends, our roadtrip, and I’ve used it around the house and the collection of images on there looks nothing like my phone camera roll. We’ve got both an album and some little stands displaying the best photos on a shelf.
And people really love when you hand them a little physical picture too - I can’t think of a better $1 gift in 2024 than a printed pic.
More time needed playing with filters and also trying edits from phone before I can give it a full review but so far I’d say it’s a nice toy that other people around you will enjoy as much as you, and you’ll find yourself taking photos of things with this that you likely otherwise wouldn’t with your phone or a DSLR. #note136e…x2m6

This is purely a demographic thing, don't try to be interested or talk about things you don't care about THAT will 1000% come across as fake.
It's simply that most people who came here, becuase the people who saw how bad this problem was and had the tools to actually fix it... *were* bitcoiners, and they are excited about #nostr.
Waht I'm getting at is that the solution isn't to stop talking about what you like or posting about other stuff arbitrarily. The solution is to bring other people to this place that aren't bitcoin and #nostr fanatics.
If we just get annoyed with people for liking what they like, we will have exactly zero success in making any change.

Why I think the idea of “superintelligence” and “AGI” is HEAVILY exaggerated or misunderstood:
Assuming we have Ai much smarter than the average human, smarter than the typical PhD (granted smart and “PhD” are not at all equal but for the sake of simplicity). If (or when) this occurs, this will not mean Ai will just be able to invent whatever we need or make all decisions better than anyone else. And I think all we have to do is look at humans to make this simple assessment —
• If we asked a physicist and a biologist what was the most important thing to focus our time and resources on, do you suspect the physicist would find something related to physics and the biologist would find something biological?
This points to the question of speciality. What an Ai is trained on will determine what and how it values things, and there is no amount of information that will make it perfect and forever aligned with the truth at all times. It will always have a weight toward something, because the question of WHAT to value for training and for dedicating resources is present at all stages. It presupposes that we already have the answer if we assume Ai will just magically come up with it.
• in addition, the answer to “where should we devote resources” isn’t static. It changes year to year, month to month, even minute to minute sometimes. It is a question of value and judgement. The only way to sort out this relationship is through trade and competition, denoting the **necessity** of Ai that compete and exchange data and resources.
• General intelligence is useful, but extremely inefficient. Generalists are great to have for combining and relating ideas, but specialists still down into the true details and do the dirty work of real building and fine tuning of the world. Specialization isn’t just an economic phenomenon, it’s a physical reality of the universe. It will be the same with Ai, because Ai doesn’t defy universal laws, it’s just a computer program.
— A giant, trillion dollar cluster AGI will not be as valuable or produce nearly as good results or decision making capability as 10,000 much smaller and specialized AI’s focused on their own corner and trading resources with others to accomplish their task or test the ideas or paths of progress apparent from their vantage point. Nothing in nature resembles the former.
• Intelligence isn’t an omnipotent, unrestricted power. Mental intelligence isn’t the only kind of intelligence. I think as humans we have become deeply arrogant about the fact that we are “so smart” and we have begun to worship our own intelligence in such a way that if we ever imagine something smarter, then it MUST be God and it must be without any limits or flaws at all. Yet there is nothing to suggest this. The “smartest” people today often have the greatest blinders on, and everyone is only as good as the information they have and the values lens through which they see everything.
While the intelligence explosion will be shockingly disruptive and revolutionary in many ways, and while I do see it as an extremely likely outcome in the rather near future, I think the vision of a giant, all powerful AGI dropped on the world like a nuclear bomb is increasingly a projection of our own ignorance and arrogance. It simply doesn’t hold water, imo.
Covered a lot of these ideas in the 31st episode of Ai Unchained:

Yeah that’s the political side of the deepstate, the Pelosi’s and McConnell’s who have been there forever and a day who would rather create their own crisis to get their way than deal with an organic crisis in which things might go a way which they can’t control.
They’ve figured out a way to capture the entire political process and they get so much juice out of it for them and their connected friends that they can’t risk any sort of scrutiny.
Makes sense why people were riled up to go absolutely batshit crazy over January 6th when viewed through this lens - it was the biggest parasites rallying people to their side so they could continue their plundering unabated.

#Nostr isn’t going to be a global town square. How we see it and interact with it daily today isn’t how it will be in 3-5-10 years.
It is going to ‘fragment’ into communities. Think neighbourhoods, cities and regions. Sports clubs, special interest niches, hobbies.
The growth will come as Bitcoiners go out and rebuild services on nostr apps to replace fiat alternatives. You probably wont see a lot of the growth directly because it will be in pockets that you will likely have no interest in, but it will come and it will be glorious to rebuild the internet into 100,000 Lichtensteins that no Government or Agency or Parasite can quash.
Back on #carnivore, 1 week into a 6 week tilt.
Not being as strict this time with meat only; mushrooms have been added, milk in my morning coffee is ok, and my missus makes yoghurt so I’ll be having a bit of that as she’s making a batch specially for me.
Much better supplied with dried and cured meats this time having learned last time to have snacks on hand. Talking about it with people last year I built up a good little trade network so I’ve got access to different jerky’s, biltong’s, salami and sausages - all stuff I’ve been swapping for my own jerky, biltong, olives and pickles.
That’s actually been the best part of this all for me, getting more into homemade foods and trading more stuff rather than buying. Might even try to grow some mushrooms having seen @npub1upm…g8fq

shit, accidental double post, but i guess i can't delete can i 😅
It launched in February, the tools i showed are ones I'm using now, its just extremely early and most of it is still beta. I'm also building an application with this stack.
This is how the internet should've always worked... better late than never @Pears.com

The world has been psyop’d into thinking money has to lose purchasing power in order to function.
We've done 2 other projects related to that already, this will be the ACTUAL completion of the basement finally kicking into high gear
No human being should have the power to decide if another human being can use money
Only Bitcoin can fix this.
Yes and #nostr is ahead of Xitter now on the #Bitcoin hashtag front.
But you don’t win by being 10% better, we win by being 100X better.
Let Elon have his one emoji, give Nostriches nukes and RPGs and AK47 emojis and whatever else the cypherpunk arsenal needs
Curtis Yarvin is a generally intelligent dude, one of his criticisms of Bitcoin is the lack of CEO.
He’s also the man behind Urbit which does have a CEO and whilst I like the idea, it hasn’t really gone anywhere.
Interesting dichotomy.
#Nostr devs have been rapidly developing ahead of Xitter’s curve but one thing Elon has done which I’ve not yet seen here is replacing the 🔫 emoji.
Can we have a full arsenal at our emoji disposal? https://i.nostr.build/k26to8KfHk0n6Qyl.jpg

They take half the output of your labour in taxes so you never have enough to build a capital base, and then debase whatever you do have leftover on a constant basis.
This system is beyond retarded.
Bitcoin will save the world, not politicians or political parties.

Between the beds made of cardboard and the medals made of garbage, they really spared no expense on the athletes eh?
This could be a nice option
Goldman Sachs has $500M in Bitcoin ETFs and Morgan Stanley has $187M too.
It’s definitely going to gain institutional adoption this cycle but I think we’re just too early for widespread MoE.
I disagree with you and do think it will come, likely via nostr and stablecoins - ie. it’s going to be used and people won’t know it’s Bitcoin under the hood.
That’s the sly roundabout way for it to grow. Not by nation states implementing it as legal tender, but by it finding organic usecases in its own sphere which is and always be online.
Welcome back! You might need some new relays after a year away, quite a few have died off in that time..
Not https://relay.nostr.com.au though!
18 months and it’s still going. One time entry fee of 6969 Sats
We’re due a shakeup in the browser ecosystem but I recall reading there’s only 2 or 3 engines left now so Google’s stranglehold is probably going to stick for a while. Truly a shitty company
Every time I visit nostr.net I find new cool stuff that I didn’t know about
WSJ limited hangout regarding the sabotage of Nordstream pipeline.
Apparently Zelensky the cokehead comedian knew about it and endorsed the plan but told the saboteurs to pull the pin when the CIA found out and told him to stop it.
This is almost certainly not the real story or the whole truth. The United States made a fuckton of money exporting LNG to Europe after Nordstream was blown up and the CIA are a force for evil.
The story is just meant to help normies who were still blaming Russia cope with their cognitive dissonance.

Oh no, a virus that is 95% spread by gay men having anal sex is a global emergency because some men in the Congo who are too poor to even own cars let alone fly anywhere have apparently seen more infections (despite zero evidence supporting this).
I don’t think they’re going to be able to pull off the #monkeypox psyop, only psychotic leftists will fall for it probably because they’re the vast majority of the anal sex having men any way. https://i.nostr.build/hVBzMfYfQ6hTLNvD.jpg #note1jnm…n6fs
Setup the official body for breakdancing in Aus, rigged the qualifiers, got her husband in as coach, and somehow beat another dancer for qualification who wasn’t a total embarrassment like she is.

Tether is not a CBDC.
It's literally a BDC
Tether is not a central bank, they don't issue notes of an independent monetary unit. They aren't associated with any govt. Tether is just a modern banknote with most of the same problems, risks, and trust issues. The difference being it is available to anyone with a smart phone without an account -- which is actually a significant improvement over the old garbage.
Tether is custodian issued digital banknotes. Literally in every use of those terms this is the accurate thing to call it. "Cash" has always just referred to banknotes issued that were redeemable in gold or at a bank that was a bearer asset. The difference with a stablecoin like Tether and physical cash is the oversight/surveillance that the institution has for the digital alternative. This is why ecash is actually the only thing that digitally shares basically all the characteristics of physical cash (txn privacy from issuer and bearer asset). Tether is far easier to freeze accounts and spy on what everyone is doing. Obviously why people want to label it "something bad."
My point is that the CBDC label is NOT accurate, and when we use words and labels arbitrarily, it desensitizes people to them. If people just become "whatever" about Tether (because if you don't use it, who cares), and everyone calls it a CBDC, then after a few years of this people are just going to think "CBDCs are fine, who cares?"
Calling everything we don't like a CBDC is a HUGE BENEFIT to actual CBDCs.
Bank digital currencies are not a problem. They will remain solvent as long as the "bank" does. They are a much better option than credit cards, and the option of being able to issue ecash is even better.
BDCs are certainly a far cry from the #Bitcoin sovereign world that we are building and have nothing to do with it, but they are ALSO a far cry from a genuine CBDC.
So please, stop using words that matter in a stupid and cheap way, because when we REALLY need them, you'll have sucked them of all of their power and meaning.
Almost every decision that was made was directly contradictory to all decent evidence, strategy, and policies we had developed.
First, quarantining THE HEALTHY is fucking insane and makes no sense.
Second, you never vaccinate during a supposed pandemic, it’s exactly the way one makes a vaccine useless
Third, removing restrictions, dropping stupid and stagnant standards, and letting everyone explore all possible treatment options and then bringing as many doctors expertise and experiences together to cover what was and wasn’t working would’ve had a successful and effective treatment in weeks
Fourth, ATTACKING treatments and stripping them from market shelves across the country that show promise is fucking stupid, arrogant, and authoritarian, on top of the fact that it likely alone causes thousands of deaths by not making simple treatment options impossible to get.
This list could go on for a long time. And on top of it all he trusted, supported, and gave way more power and authority to Fauci who should be in prison for mass man slaughter like 10 times over. The guy is evil incarnate and has been pushing horrific and pointless treatments onto people that he profits from with outright and *known* lies. Even a cursory look at his history shows that guys does not have a conscience of any form.
Everything that was done was backwards and fucking stupid. Trump has never apologized and STILL brags about it to this day. And he literally towed the line with every big govt, authoritarian lockdown, moronic health policy, and parasitic pharmaceutical plan and power grab during the entire period.
How people let him off the hook with that shit and have lost their most basic common sense on the issue is beyond me. It was a failure of incredible magnitude and it was not even a little difficult to come up with a VASTLY better course of action.
Without personal responsibility the Bitcoin revolution is impossible.
So @npub1h88…pz20 do you have any good bug based recipes I could try out? I’ve been thinking a lot more about how to help the planet since your recent videos and I want to do my part. 🫡

PSA 🚨
Without a direct innovation in the monetization structure of #Nostr I think we should expect a highly successful #Nostr to evolve like other protocols before it. I think there are 2 most likely comparisons:
1. #Nostr ends up looking more like email. It is still open and decentralized, but dominated by a small group of companies with enormous insight into everything that is happening and acting as huge semi-centralized custodians of everyone's data and messages.
2. #Nostr ends up looking more like RSS & podcasts. It is open and decentralized, but most users and all serious content creators pay for hosting platforms (relays) that sell it with a bunch of other features, analytics, and secondary services attached to it - or built in advertising and monetization splits.
Understand I'm not predicting that it will go either direction or that only these two options exist. I'm saying that --- without a significant innovation in the monetization method --- it will very likely take one of these two paths. Also understand that neither of these are bad outcomes, per se. Both present a VASTLY better internet sovereignty and user/server power dynamic than the current Web 2, but this is far from realizing #Nostr's true potential.
I only say this to get people thinking about the fact that we still have a very serious problem funding relays at scale, and it hasn't been solved, it's mostly been covered up with some very generous grants and *extremely* generous volunteer developers and relay runners. But it WILL have to be addressed or nostr's success will come hand in hand with some hard truths about how we use it and what we think it is.
It won't be unlike the people who thought all #Bitcoin transactions were going to be free forever, settle instantly, and that the whole world could be sovereign with their own UTXOs. That's simply not how it worked, and we had to have a 4 year, vicious, all out civil war within the community when we were finally forced to come to terms with that reality.
can't skip the superbowl, amarite
In a world of lies, Bitcoin is the beacon of truth.
The bigger the #Bitcoin team gets, the harder it is to fight.
The earlier you join the #Bitcoin team, the more you will be rewarded for cooperating instead of fighting.
The game theory is surprisingly simple. Sound money will eat the world, and finally cure the cancer of fiat.
fundamentally humans might be the same throughout the world. the conditioning we are exposed to and subjected to is not. as a Latino who grew up in Norway, the difference in the culture in a big city in Norway and a big city in Spain is palpable.
fighting the system from within is a choice one makes when one concludes that that's the best way to create a prosperous future. moving out to create a life that is independent from the system is simply a different choice, rooted in the same intention.
What if I told you, there’s a conspiracy with guys smoking cigars in back rooms planning things..

Hmmm 🤔
I imagine @npub1sg6…f63m would love a poll asking whether Square payment terminals should accept Lightning or only fiat!
That seems like it would be right in his wheelhouse!!
Am I doing it right? https://i.nostr.build/QCStlZgF4eCFZyj1.jpg
As an Australian I can relate.
Now let’s get guns back in people’s hands and watch the transformation https://i.nostr.build/jJPkgKHjSPthP1Ue.gif
I’m more bullish on individuals adopting Bitcoin than I am on nation states. That’s how things actually change.
I run a media company I don’t have an option but to post where we’ll get the most amount of views (YouTube / Twitter)
Would be awesome if that changes in the future but that hasn’t happened yet.
Then you got on your scooter and did a burnout in your bosses face?!
I understand the idea that the Cantillionaires are taking the money to build a parallel system, but doing it all in fiat makes it pointless.
Quinones is a LARP. He’s like that fuckwit Mike Brock on here who yammers on about being a reformed Ancap because he read some extra books.
Yeah I read some extra books too, I don’t leave Ancap behind but I dont claim to have reverted back to rightist statism simply to wield the power of the current political apparatus like they do. That’s not a real solution, that’s pissweak.
Separation of Money and State is this epoch’s separation of Church and State.
Those GenXers don’t get that because they’re not geared for it. They don’t understand where we are in history, that this is the moment to go forth with an epochal shift once and for all.
They thought they’d be the heroes of the story but they ended up just miserable grungy cunts who achieved nothing, stuck in stasis between status quo Boomers and a powderkeg of Millennials ready to wield Zoomers to turn it all out.
This graphic is a good representation of where I’m at, and where I’m confident the world is going. The pendulum swinging hard to the right with an Overton window dominated by Ancaps but enacted by people ready to Auth the fuck out of others to get this shift in separating Money and State done once and for all. https://i.nostr.build/NMNpODbLtuAoMPFK.jpg

LITTLE TECH IS A FRAUD
I’ve been interested in the “little tech” idea that Silicon Valley, greys as @npub1xee…z3mx would call them, have entered the political realm in earnest this cycle and thrown their weight behind the Trump/Republican campaign.
I follow Peter Thiel quite a bit because he’s clearly highly intelligent so I wanted to see what this was all about after hearing Pete Quinones and Tom Luongo both raise it because Thiel is a central player to this idea along with the Elongated Muskrat (King of the Cantillionaires).
Let me tell you what it is about - a hybrid corporate capture of retarded rich people, completely disconnected from reality, backed by populist-right pundits who can’t grok Bitcoin but believe in Gold and Neoreactionaryism, trying to take control of the political apparatus in order to direct it to their own ends to avoid the United States being ruled by Globalists from the Democrats for the foreseeable future.
I had to stop watching Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz after 34 minutes when Ben talked about their amazing investment in Worldcoin which apparently solves the problem of AI/bots on the internet (he doesn’t mention this is done via shitcoins distributed thru retina scans - you just have to know that part). https://youtu.be/n_sNclEgQZQ
These are the greys supposedly backing the reds to move the world forward. Along with Elon “WeChat” Musk, Peter “Palantir” Thiel, Mark “LifeLog” Zuckerberg and others.
Balaji is right about the Network State, that is needed. The current mob of rich fuckwits trying to takeover the American right and use Bitcoin to prop up the USD shitcoin are not the answer for that.
This US election is going to sorely disappoint the world. Whether it’s communist Kamala and Tampon Tim, or Shitcoiner Trump and captured Vance will ultimately be irrelevant. But should it be the latter you can expect rightists to praise it to high heaven early on only for it all to fall apart.
No-one can fix this system. Commie Kamala is just a speed run to the cliff but nor will A16Z or Trump-family shitcoinery help.
It needs to be rebuilt which neither side wants to countenance today. Open decentralised protocols where the best ideas will win on merit at the heart of it is the only way, not lipstick on a uniparty pig.
We’re minimum 4 years away from anything good happening, probably more like 6-8. We need Bitcoin to rip and financially empower a bunch of Ancaps to come forth and destroy the Overton window because neither end of the current one is prepared to do the needful to take the world forward.
I hope more normies wake up in the meantime and even more get to building guillotines and chopping cunts down to size so the real greys who want to build a sustainable new system based on the digital realm don’t have to deal with as much of the incumbent psychopathy on both sides as we see today.
Bloodshed is inevitable in such turmoil - stop trying to pretend you’re above it. You’re not. It is what it is.
The Greys need a real foothold that normies can get behind, a real vision and future. We’ve got 5-6-7-8 years to deliver it to them, to set the exit to this fourth turning to be something meaningful.
This will set the course for the next 250 years so I hope you’re all ready for this moment.
Even crazier is that the more complex the society was, the less likely it may be that it survives a catastrophe if it’s big enough.
Think about it, if we are all hyper specialized, and let’s say 20 of us have the knowledge each of 20 parts of building something large and complex (say a power plant). But then 10 of us are killed. Nobody can build a power plant anymore. The skills and knowledge are gone. What the remaining 10 know is useless without the other half.
It truly shifts how the system and society work, which is wild. We become one huge collective organism. And suddenly, because the cells cannot survive on their own, the entire organism and all of the cells can be killed with the loss of just one organ.
This is how I analogies the possibility of an advanced civilization in history being destroyed and society essentially having to “reset.” The scary thing, is that the disaster might not have to be totally in order for it to still do multiples of damage in the fall out. Consider how many critical skills may be lost completely if just 15% of the population are lost in a sudden event. And what if it resulted in losing another 15% as fallout, but that reaches a critical threshold and now we have lost even MORE skills and knowledge, and its spirals out of control to 90% of the population. Where our ability to simply keep our basic needs and critical systems functioning, completely breaks down.
Just wild to consider.
Who can I speak to to get lightning polls rolled out?
Do I need to make memes? Or bitch at people?
What am I doing wrong here Corn?
Yes someone snagged it! Took a little longer than I thought it would. Was a week or two after I got all the seed words published.
We will be doing it again though!
And I’m sorry but it was literally like 2 days ago that I deleted the wallet and wiped the key so I don’t have the address on hand unfortunately. Best way to get it is to put the seed words together 😅

We are very sorry, but we cannot request repairs from overseas or ship repaired items overseas. The repair services provided by our company are for customers who live or stay in Japan only, and are only available in Japan. In addition, for FM10, the repair service period has already ended and there is no stock of repair repair parts, so unfortunately we do not accept repairs. We sincerely apologize for not being able to help you with your inquiry, but we ask for your understanding.

Unintended consequence of this statist intervention - not only will it drive the Bitcoin wealthy out of their jurisdiction to friendlier locations, but it will cause those afoul of their regs to hodl longer thus reducing available liquid supply putting upward pressure on price 😂
Then you are tilting at windmills because that is not what someone saying “Bitcoin, not crypto” is meaning, as I just detailed for you.
If you’ve explained it three times and you think everyone else is wrong, perhaps it is indeed you who has it backwards.

Because news networks are controlled, they’re inside the tent setting the narrative.
Can’t have the rabble getting unapproved narratives from social media, they’re prone to “misinformation”.

Did you know?
More people are imprisoned in Britain for comments they made on social media than in Russia. #note1qfx…uy0c
Yeah watching them do egregious shit is particularly tough, especially when basic justice is turned on its head and criminals become the protected class.
They know this and that’s why they do it; not all of them, there’s not thousands of people conspiring, just a handful at the top pulling strings and giving direction to people who are NPC enough to execute the programming.
Would be worth reviewing exit plans too - you don’t want to get caught up in a protracted situation and stuck on prison island. Expect more heavy-handedness than peak Covidmania, the parasites learned a lot from that and will take it to another level next time.
Good luck bro 🤞
Glad you’re seeing it for what it is - bait.
They want shit to kickoff so they’re justified in coming down on people like a ton of bricks. No doubt they’ve got legislation up their sleeves ready to go and the cops geared up to crack skulls if the actual natives get restless.

Socialists and commies can’t back door themselves into power within a monarchy/anarchy to redistribute other people’s wealth.
No, their shit requires either a violent revolution to impose themselves, or, as is the way they’ve found more sustainable - a democracy..
Good idea if you wanted to guard against a snooping partner.
Probably better to not have a snooping partner that you want to guard against but not everyone is fortunate like that

Your government is trying to illicit a reaction.
I lived in Melbourne during Covid, we had the most ridiculous and draconian lockdowns anywhere. Curfews of 8pm-5am, restrictions on travelling more than 5km from home, 1 hour daily outdoor time like we were literally in prison, groups of up to 2 ppl and later 5, everything except supermarkets and petrol closed.
When things finally bubbled up here to major protests (the biggest since Iraq war), the police went psychotic. They imposed media blackouts on the CBD, rolled in fucking Bearcat G3s, corralled protestors and shot them with rubber bullets, arrested ppl for Facebook posts on and on.
Leftists were allowed to march here for George Floyd’s death in the US, and they were allowed to counter protest the anti-gov/antilockdown protests with their Trans flags and Hammer&Sickles - no problem.
But go against the State and they’ll use that as an excuse to demonise and impose the harshest sanctions you can imagine.
This is what’s coming for Britain.
They’re riling people up so the people can be made into the enemy, then they’re going to come down on them like a ton of bricks.
They don’t care what the people want. How destructive their policy is is irrelevant. They see themselves apart from the rabble, with a divine right to rule over the mere plebs.
You best stay well away from all of it, no amount of protesting is going to do anything good. People are just going to destroy shopfronts and scrap with cops and some immigrant mobs, doing nothing to address the actual problems and adding fuel to the fire for government intervention.
Until and unless the anger reaches a point where people are building gallows and guillotines, hunting down the parasites to remind them they are mere flesh and blood, you’re going to be forced to watch on in horror as your society is destroyed.
This is the end game. Making demands with words won’t achieve anything any longer, you can’t vote nor reason your way out of this - costs need to be imposed or the people are going to be crushed.
Good luck to the Poms, I hope they’re ready for what is coming 🤞
Shoot for the moon
Even if you miss
You’ll get hundreds of billions worth of government contracts to hand out to your friends in the MIC and can show people ridiculous staged footage and they’ll gobble that shit right up!

Is this really something we should think of as a goal to accomplish? 🤣
