My only regret is I wished I signed this tape. It's a 1 of 1. I left it on a table at BTC Nashville.
It's 40minutes of the word "trump" spoken by a synth with the hypnotoad sound from Futurama.
But I sincerely hope it sparks joy to whomever picked it up.

I'm turing off for a while. Enjoy!
I think people are using BTCpayserver more for bitcoin specific stuff
I randomly found a 2 cassette album of him narrating Songs of the Doomed. It is amazing.
Innovations happening every day. If you are using chat interfaces to AI for coding, you might want to paste all your codebase to the prompt, right?
I bring you "unapaster", part of my dotfiles. Unapaster copies all the code, including filenames into clipboard.
BTW: You need a working pbcopy command. On macOS it is there by default, on Linux, it is defined in dotfiles.

Get out today and vote for something meaningful, like a bitpunk fm tape!
There are 2 postcard experiments going on.
1. To get the next issue
https://zine.bitpunk.fm/how-to-get-a-bitpunk-fm-tape/
2. To get a LNbeats mixtape
https://zine.bitpunk.fm/lnbeats-mixtape-mailbox/
International postcards welcome. Both are experiments so please be patient.
Unlike whomever you vote for, I will thank you (if you provide a name, other wise thank you anon).
You have been asking about the source of the second part, it's here:

I don't have a link to the manufacturer, maybe ask esr.
My podcasting 2.0 dashboard has another small update.
- it shows a number unique contributors (if they have a username) per podcast and per episode
- it groups sats per user and per episode, so you don't have 24 sats every minute, but it's shown per user for each episode.
(and if you have not heard the episode on the screenshot, I highly recommend it).

I think the kits cost me sub $2 :). There's no IC on this transmitter even!
The most complex component is a NPN transistor :)
You'll like it. I can't wait until they come in.
I think it would be fun! The kits I ordered (not yet received) are a FM transmitter with no crystal. So its kinda mind blown how it works with a single transistor.
It both demystifies and adds more layers to radio I think.
But mainly the fun. On the tape, I would walk through the soldering steps so it would be a solder-a-long.
Seriously though, that carving is 🔥

They are not and it's crazy expensive for my use case
Do you know of any great text to speech models that do intonation well? Open weights. They do not need to clone voices.
I've tried suno bark, but it sometimes hallucinates. I need the reading to be literally what's written. Also tried f5-tts, intonation is not great and the speed varies a lot, so when it's reading multiple texts, the speed of output speech is different between generation. The duration predictor is also not great and sometimes causes cutoffs.
Have I missed something?
English only for now is ok.
Yeah I need to up my game with the tape art. I usually go for simple line sketches and what not.

exactly. reticulum is much cooler than Meshtastic.
I also love Meshtastic of course, but just the scale of things you can do with Reticulum is completely different.

Beautiful.
Yesterday I was walking through the forest, a bit lost. I opened my phone (GrapheneOS powered) with OSMand and found my way.
Both are free and open source. Yes, the operating system and the navigation software. But so are maps. Imagine that someone went to the same forest, with a gps recorder and walked all the paths just to contribute to a free and open source database.
These days we have open weights AI, my mum is 3D printing something for a friend. It's an amazing world that was easy to imagine, but it was much harder to actually believe that this is how the world turns out.
Over from the bird by Eric S. Raymond:
You can just make things.
This is my massive white-pill about the revolution in small scale manufacturing that's going on right now.
The immediate trigger is a story I read about a guy who was annoyed that his wife needed a wheelchair, and the designs were all crappy and hideously expensive and made in China. So he booted up a small factory that now builds custom wheelchairs, delivering them for about $1,000 a pop, undercutting the Chinese by a factor of five.
The context, though is something that's been going on since the first mass market 3D printers in 2009. We've had more than a decade now in which many of the people who would have become part of the hacker culture I came up in back when software was the cutting edge have been learning how to use FDM printers, desktop CNC mills, laser cutters, EDM machines, and all kinds of physical fabrication techniques that you can set up in a garage or a basement.
The lesson has had time to sink in. If you're clever about it, you can hack matter the way we learned how to hack code - high speed, low drag, flexibly and playfully.
You can just make things. Without bimpty-bump millions of dollars of startup capital. With the new tech you can start small, turn a profit on boutique items, and scale up organically.
SpaceX is part of this story, using rapid iterations of custom designs made with 3D printing in sintered metal to continuously improve and simplify their rocket engines. So are Defense Distributed and the other semi-underground firearms-fabrication anarchists. So were the people who figured out how to garage-build respirators during the COVID panic. And now so is JerryRigEverything, the YouTuber who built a wheelchair factory.
The software revolution of a quarter century ago was fueled by Dennard scaling driving down the cost of compute power and wide area networking. Suddenly you could do things on a desktop that had taken raised floors and dedicated computer rooms just a few years before. Hackers grabbed these new possibilities and ran with them. I helped the movement understand itself.
I see something very like that happening again now. But instead of the demassification of software, we're seeing the demassification of manufacturing. The new hackers are being playful with atoms rather than bits. But the same spirit is there; I can feel it every time I wander into a makerspace.
These kids are not going to be stopped. There's too much fun to be had. Too many brains chasing every problem in sight. If my hacker culture didn't still exist it would make me all nostalgic to watch them.
But no. The old hacker culture and the new one flow together at the edges. The apprentice I'm teaching systems programming has a side-hustle printing models for mail-order customers. The kids put their part designs in public repositories; they didn't have to discover open source and distributed collaboration, they grew up absorbing both through their pores.
(Which has the accidental result that though I'm not leading things and writing manifestos this time, I'm one of their culture heroes anyway. That feels nice, I won't deny it.)
And you ain't seen nothing yet.
FDM and other small-scale fabrication technologies are attracting enough attention to improve at a torrid pace. There are obvious synergies with robotics and deep learning that haven't kicked in yet. Or, maybe they already have in somebody's garage, and we'll find out about it next week or next month.
It's a swarm attack, a disruption from below, and lots of conventional large-scale manufacturing outfits are going to suffer the fate of massified Chinese wheelchair factories - they just don't know it yet. They'll be undercut by cheaper, lighter, faster, smarter, custom, and localized.
Somewhere, Buckminster Fuller is whispering "ephemeralization" and smiling.
I want to bring back indie blurays. People who want to watch them would pay for them.
They might be well paid, but it's also horrible for them. They end up losing a life in a loveless hierarchy inside a building with artificial light and bad coffee. See here:

Pretix would be great. It's used by CCC, HCPP, Paralelní Polis.
Although for me it could be super simple. Actually I don't even need the sales system, only pre generated tokens and I can distribute the tickets myself. I organize very simple events. And I'd like to not even have email address or any other user info. So what @nprofile…h5zr created is even better than pretix, where there's a more complicated sales process with t-shirt sizes, email addresses, name tags.
I just need "one entry, not used yet, valid".
Can't wait to try it out.
Amazing, thank you! And I will find a home foe this interlude on the next tape 😍

You have Dvorak and Smetana, we have Palo Habera. We're not the same.
There are "beagle" usb analyzers.
Thanks for suggestion , now I know what to actually google for hardware, but the prices are indeed something. I will try to see if I can go the VM route (will ahve to pass through a thunderbolt lane to a VM) and debug it on that level, or if I start looking for rentals
The easiest way is to just use a VM. I think it's still possible to then dump the usb traffic going in out of the VM, but I don't recall how.
The hardware devices that can do this are expensive. For example this is for a usb 2.0 setup

So, they raid dudes house to rescue a squirrel he already rescued and had for 7+ years, only to kill it couple hours later? Now that's a proper definition of government success XD

A budete šťastní.
Vypnite to.
I've seen some belt kits on ebay and the like. Good luck with it, I'd be curious to hear how it goes.
From what I've seen as long as the belts haven't melted, it could be OK. Otherwise you gotta get in there and clean a bunch of nasty goo.

Is there a Cashu mint implementation that supports EUR (or USD, but I am more interested in EUR) tokens and has a callback for hedging for mint and melt operations (minting through Bitcoin of course) and can get an exchange rate somehow?
Bonus points if there would be a way to swap BTC and EUR balances (basically a eur-side melt paying another mint invoice for sats denominated mint).
Of course asking for a friend, I only do testnet EUR.
It needs an Alby account just to see what kind of downloads there are. Something that is preferably a software, not a service relying on a third party?
Or is there a way to run Alby Hub without Alby account?
Electrum comes to mind, but preferably something with two buttons Send and Receive, not a super complicated menu and channel management.
Strangely enough, two people have asked me already about a desktop lightning wallet that is non-custodial, but is not a full node requiring bitcoind or something complicated (it can have full node like Breez, if the node is invisible to the user and doing something like Neutrino). Something like Phoenix or Breez, but for desktop.
Any ideas?
I checked: Breez, Phoenix, Zeus don't have desktop versions, Green does have desktop version, but it's based on prehistoric Green version that doesn't do lightning.
Wow, 💔. I didn't know about this, thank you.
Funny enough, in 2005 when another big national institution did the same, they actually renamed the new company, just so they don't have to pay me 500 Crowns (15 euro) that I asked for domain transfer lol XD
This is a problem in most sci-fi imho.
Tbh, the last one I really liked by him was Anathem.
EN: A domain is a fiat asset.
That's why I've been recommending for years not to use a .sk domain and why I'm glad that, for example, Nostr identities don't have anything to do with domains (unlike fediverse or email).
The attached article is about a domain for the new brand of slovak tv and radio (another rebrand just to change the director) and how they took some student's domain for his personal blog, because of course state TV has bigger cock.

I think these Podcasters like the ads tbh, or at least the fiat that goes with them. What's sad to me is the people like Odell who keep listening to these people and keep feeding the same beast he is complaining about.
Maybe when he switches he will write in lowercase.
The IA is great. But I wish everyone would be their own IA. We've outsourced this responsibility to the IA and this is the result, sadly.
I did, thank you! The beef was in for about 5 hours, it was delicious.
Ok good, I got a lot of chopped yellow onions in the pot, thanks!
I do like the smell of the house with goulash. I might have used too much beef tallow though, idk, it was the first time trying it to fry and brown the beef and onions.
At least, I can smell it 😀
Wait, how are you sharing a video without youtube?! 🤯
Today I'm making a slovak style goulash for guests. Then we will go ask strangers for candy.
I usually try to reformat the poems here on nostr as to not make you click over to substack. But in this case, there is accompanying music, pictures, and references that are important for context. (It's a nice one with a mic drop opening line 🥰).

Yeah the issue is finding a kit that's like $1. But I think I found one on ali express I just need to test it first.
Well best of luck! I was thinking for the holiday issue of somehow including a small soldering kit actually. Like a fm radio kit.
Maybe I'll look into that more.
Yeah looks fine though. Kapton tape works well.
Hot air and flux are my goto like you discovered. I will only use a soldering iron when I really have to get something small and targeted off, like one capacitor or so.
Pretty soon you won't even bother with connectors :) I just solder straight wires.
I do like this mind Map method
There was a gnome tiling window manager I used to run. I couldn't use it all the time but it was nice to be able to switch to it.

I would encourage you to continue but at a pace comfortable to you and don't push it.

Instinctively you reply,
"thank you for your service,"
in a sweet, appreciative voice.
Starting to blink my mind screams.
I feel shame.
One step at a time —
I am disgusting.
People love me —
I risked my life for nothing.
I am healing —
I was everything I hate,
It's OK to feel sad,
I got through this day —
a weapon of the state.
That is not me — anymore.
Inhaling calmly the blink ends.
Awkwardly—
absurdly—
I say, "thank you."

The nocoiner syndrome is not simply having no Bitcoin. Most people on this planet as of this writing have no Bitcoin. Some don't know about it, some have not invested enough time to learn about it, and some do not want or need it for its properties.
The nocoiner syndrome is a condition under which a person perceives early adopters of Bitcoin as immoral. Often, this condition stems from their perception that early Bitcoin adopters in their vicinity have quickly become extremely wealthy, by not producing anything, "just buying Bitcoin". The root cause of this syndrome is perception of a "missed train" and further justification of why Bitcoin itself and also the early adopters are bad, immoral, or misguided.
To be diagnosed with the nocoiner syndrome, individuals must actively oppose and judge Bitcoiners. This often involves hiding trauma from past dismissals of Bitcoin as unworkable or harboring suppressed feelings like 'we missed this train' or 'it is too late.' This leads to animosity towards Bitcoiners.

i meant something else, but this would work too.
i mean I make bitpunk.fm cassette from the digital recording and I mail it to someone who wants it on the other side of the pond.
Oh yeah, that would work too! So in lieu of a postcard I will accept a recording of your address on a cassette. Just please spell things phonetically and clearly if you do 😀
Prime example of the Nocoiner syndrome as analysed by @nprofile…7ax3 . Most likely, his blood pressure is rising faster than Bitcoin price up to this day.
that's the part I don't understand and I need to.
looking forward!
I'm working on the technical article for the upcoming issue. The issue has a 1960s, groovy theme. So, I'm doing an article on radio.
Radio is one of those things that can get very technical and complex. But I'm hoping to explain it in a very approachable, intuitive way.
I see for example a lot of the interest in meshtastic and reticulum, which is great! But I feel the struggle sometimes to resonate with the core ideas. For example, why does this antenna work here and not there. Why can I hear you now but not later etc...
So hopefully what I'm preparing can help with some of that. And as always, a fun interactive exercise.
Yeah the DIY by 3D printer thing here is interesting and I have not seen many with this approach. Let's see!
I would wait for the price to be known and also to see what the Kickstarter actually covers. He seems to already have a functional prototype in the teaser video, so I suppose it is for sourcing and manufacturing of the electronics and technically, even if it fails, you should be able to DYI build this provided he makes the STL's and PCB design and schema public. I actually think this has a non-0 chance of survival we're just frankly better than 99.9999% of the rest of the whole Kickstarter.
Marshall McLuhan said, "There is absolutely no inevitability as long as there is a willingness to contemplate what is happening."
I guess this one is slightly different in that you print it... do I try it just one last time...
This looks so cool! If only I haven't been burned by so many kickstarters in the past 😩

OK, a quick hack solution is to put custom search into Alfred or similar launcher (Albert on Linux) with your openwebui instance URL followed by /?q={query}.
Acceptable for now, although still a bit slow.
Does anyone know how to run Open-webui as a wrapped app with keyboard shortcuts to act as a replacement for local Siri (Apple Intelligence)/ChatGPT apps? Like pressing a hotkey will give me instant prompt to type in, without searching for browser windows and creating new conversation?
Adding a context menu to texts to allow summarization, shortening, elaborating, changing tone, or just custom rewrites would be cool as well. Especially because it would be multi-language (contrary to Apple Intelligence) and local (contrary to ChatGPT).
Another option would be any Ollama client that does the same. Open-Webui is cool though, because it can have multiple prompt styles and can work with multiple ollama endpoints, so I can use ollama-venice proxy for models that don't fit into the machine's RAM.
Cool protocol, although another option is that someone else records it on the cassette. It's maybe the easier solution for overseas shipping.
I can't offer this yet, our recording capabilities are pretty low quality.

Peter Horváth is the greatest anarchist I know. He is the only person who embodies the concept of decentralization so deeply that it actually characterizes his pure essence of being.
S. Is amazing! I'm afraid to drop the book and spill the contents though.
Don't know House of Leaves, but it reminds me of S.

The design though 😍 getting some "House of Leaves" vibes.
The guys from ECB should get this to study.

We are pleased to announce our research paper "Nocoiner Syndrome", which analyzes this condition where individuals, especially those benefiting from the current financial system's Cantillon Effect, perceive early Bitcoin adopters as immoral.
It is based on a case study of certain individuals working for European Central Bank and investigating several "issues" with Bitcoin. As they have all the symptoms to be diagnosed with late progression of nocoiner syndrome, we decided to help people understand this condition and possible treatments.
Please spread widely to help those in need: https://cryptoanarchy.institute/nocoiner-syndrome-2024.pdf

Amazing! Clear vinyl?! Any pics 🥰
It is the most expensive piece of furniture I own, but it changed my life a LOT. Been a skeptical since its promoted on youtube as well, which usually isn’t a good sign. But after 5 months of usage, my sleep is on average 30min longer for same time in bed, and I am way more comfortable. Also, I already saved 1/3 of the price just on ac costs (i stopped running ac completely and just cool the bed), and once winter time hits, I will not have to heat the appartment so that will be good again (it rarely drops below 12 here, so noone has heated floor or radiators or insulation for that matter)
That intro tho

Regarding the feed I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. I was able for example to import a pay walled feed into podverse for example.
Then yes, maybe no one has asked subatack for PC 2.0 features so maybe this is possible.
Honestly the most advanced thing they can do is just offer a rss snippet editor to customize at the channel/item level.
Castapod does exactly this and it works pretty well.
Which one :) International Atomic Time? Coordinate Universal Time? Or 20 other standards in use before we come to national ones?
I am extreme introvert, almost no friends where I am living. I just used some phone numbers of the signal contact I have interacted mostly in signal groups.
Yes I still see minimum offers in vexl and people mostly do not respond.
Signal is my more successfull "vexl" app.

For the next tape, since I will not be at a conference I'm expirementing with a physical V4V release.
We will try this and then see how it goes.
The protocol is:
1. Mail me a postcard
2. I mail you a tape
3. You return the value with time, talent, or treasure
4. I thank you by adding your nym to the producer list on the jcard
I might have the digital version out as early as next week, the tapes mostly like not until end of November.
More details include the address, are in the podcast here (should be in your client by now if you are subscribed).

Yeah idk if I can honestly recommend it to anyone interested in Podcasting 2.0 features.
It's a podcast host in that it will host your rss feed and your audio. But that's it. I don't think you can customize the rss at all. So no chapters for example.
But if you have a substack and want to add a bonus audio thing, I can see it being handy.
For example, some creators are pay walling their podcasts behind substack pay walls.
This is lame. But I'm just stating what people are doing.
I think this would be an ideal use case of Cashu (Cc @nprofile…h5zr). The only problem is that mints can't do keysend now. There should be a way to get the node to give us invoice that would be processed and logged on the server side as keysend. At least until v4v spec adds either lightning address, or even better bolt-12. But there should still be a way to do keysend payment, as podcasts won't have to migrate.
Cashu would add a choice of custodians, self sovereignty, privacy but no need for channel management.
Another option is Nostr wallet connect, but that would not expand the selection that much, it's pretty much Alby and mutiny these days, while mutiny is shutting down. But hopefully NWC will be adopted by more wallets.
Both Cashu and NWC are usable from web, with very simple APIs, so implementing this is possible even in the browser apps (PWAs)
For what it is, namecheap is quite good. As far as we tested (I work in gambling), they really throw government requests to the trashcan unless it is US gov issued, so unless you do something the bald eagles do not like, you can reasonably assume you will be fine. They do offer privacy hiding just as any other registar, but I would be cautious and not rely only on that considering your local gov seems to be very trigger happy. Since 1.1.2024, namecheap (or any other .com/.net/us domain registar) is obliged to pass on your actual user info to ICANN, which may be a 2nd angle for your home folk.
Yeah, -wall -werror fixes many problems.
Ok I see thanks. So, my security code review eyes would want to make a comment on this style and say that declaration should go with assignment.
Because what can happen is that the default assignment is sometimes used mistakenly and results in undefined behavior.
Obviously not an issue if you follow up with the assignments as you did, but just stating an observation.
Can you provide an example snippet?
It happens, next thing you know you have your own podcast 😀
I am actually thinking about making some kind of follow up, maybe in english to broaden the audience a bit. Haven't been "live" for couple years so it was a challenge, and of course it's just after it ends you realize you wanted to say 20 other, probably more interesting things :)
A playground.
An antiwar haiku by me.

A joyful playground —
filled with unexploded mines —
makes a sound no more.
I've tried them out. So far:
- all seem to support only Alby, I don't have Alby account, except for Podverse, which wants web-ln browser extension (probably better, but I still don't use it).
- PodcastGuru has not updated episode of my podcast since August. All other players see the new episodes, this one does not
Do any of these support a different model than Web-ln / Alby? What I like about fountain is that users can immediately begin.
On the plus side - wow, so many apps!
What are other great v4v players besides fountain?
Odd that #amethyst did not auto translate it. Does it not support slovak?
In any case, looks like an interesting interview!

Oh, the last line, nice close there.
Ok, instantly stuck in my head 🤣

If you don't have the cassettes, you can even make them from the digital version yourself! Just start a v4v player like fountain, press record and flip the tape when the time comes.
Hack for kids: instead of an unrestricted access to a tablet, give them a walkman with cassettes. They get understanding of physical medium, they can record songs they like (even from YouTube), stories, ... Modern walkmans can record from analog audio input, some have even an integrated microphone.
They have fun, they can play and it's entirely their own thing.
On the other side there's no corporation wanting their attention to fill their head with cornflakes ads.
And then you give them @nprofile…0fdq cassettes to listen to some good music (e.g. @nprofile…555r) and they also learn about Bitcoin and analog encoding and a lot of other stuff.

So I've noticed something like this happening to me. But I if I either forced close amethyst or I have a nothing media playing like a podcast, it seems to not play.

Trying Creatr (alternative for patreon and herohero)
Here's a sample of the videos I'll try to post behind the satoshiwall in the future (I hope it is working, I'm posting this through Creatr with "public" checked just to try it out - next videos should be locked for a monthly fee of 4000 sat). I don't expect anyone here to be interested in this, the whole Creatr is supposed to be aimed at my Czech speaking Youtube subscribers who may have this as an added bonus to the whole Youtube channel (or as a way to support that Youtube channel regularly, just because they like it). But it's clear to me that without the added value of that czech Youtube channel these videos won't interest anyone.
I wanted to share it with english speaking nostriches anyway, because since I try to live more and more outside the system, Creatr is currently the only way to arrange regular monthly subscriptions, so I'm excited about it. But I don't expect to get any large numbers of subscribers on it even between the Czech youtube audience (although I have a Youtube channel aimed at the anarchist/freedom/nomad social bubble, I still think most of them still don't actively use Nostr and there is still a lot of non anarchists who do not even have any bitcoin).
But that's the way it is. Maybe it will motivate someone from my viewers to try bitcoin, or even Nostr (I guess have to do a video for them "how to create nostr so you can start supporting us on creatr" :D) Anyway, if anyone wants to see short videos of our privat nomadic lives on the road like this (with english subtitles) that are meant to be ONLY bonuses (and not full standalone episodes suitable for Youtube), if you're bored, or if you have too much money, feel free to join our creatr, there will be more videos like this one. But if you speak only english I do not think there will be big enough motivation to do this... but I'm certainly not going to stop you! :D
I'm just trying this thing out and letting you know that there is a cool Nostr service that is the only possible alternative to Patreon for nomads like us, and that's awesome. Even though we are still too early.
(hope the video works after this long post).
I am getting a lot of rejections when posting from coracle, but when I open it on Damus on my phone and resend, I see all fine (it also gets notifications way way faster for some reason)
I now have a duplicator that can do 2 copies of a 40m tape in 6 minutes. It's slightly less quality than real time copies but cassettes have a upper limit anyway. And I still enjoy listening to them so I wouldn't say they are bad sounding.
It saves so much time.
Or Magic The Gathering cards for that "neo" touch :D
I think the copy culture aspect and it not being available online makes it better. If you are online, you can listen now, and for the offline crowd you can always get it on conferences or try to snatch a copy (PoW :) ). Maybe you could try some dropboxes or local "seeders" on select conferences and such. How do you actually produce the copies? I suppose you run multiple decks at normal speed?
I'll be making a slovak style goulash this week which this reminds me of!
I'm here for the poetry, especially the pictures of words!
Appreciate you listening and sending the zap! Yeah, I'm noodling a way to send physical tapes without it turning into a web form 😀
Once I add a checkout page I feel like it's now a product.
I also need to think about how to allow the artist on the tape to get paid from a physical medium. At the moment I've got a nfc/qr so they can be boosted. This might be good enough.
Thanks a lot for the tape, it was a great listening experience. Hope to get my hands on the future releases, be it from you or from some underground copy.
All of the first three issues, with the exception of 1 copy for me, have been distributed. If you have a bitpunk.fm tape, you are part of an offline, analog, decentralized backup system for this community's work.
So thank you for maintaining the flame for all the contributors.
I will celebrate my 10th Bitcoin anniversary in 5 days and was looking to write and reflect about things past. This hits home so hard its just depressing. Looking at all large communities (reddit) or big conferences (BTCanythign), you see they turned into hold moon moon bonanza full of instagram investment gurus with no substance. Even DOGE is not fun ever since normies started associating it with Mush for whatever reason. Saylor gets praised just because the company he manages bought a lot of BTC, but what he has actually done for the ecosystem? At least now, after he has come clean on his view of regulation and state compliance, we don't have to "debunk" him anymore. But the reality is, this moon moon crowd does not care. Their 1st question is "how do I report my Bitcoin" or "How do I get gains" , not what can I do with it.
Hello World! I've been kinda dead, but thanks to some great folk I am now fully onboarded to the new ecosystem.
Polymarket has a breakdown of all keywords said since there was a market for it, saves you 2 hours of time :)
Is there an anarchist wine label?
i should have started my node!
I'll try to run nostr over lora one day
Ešte tie štátne lety do Košíc čo nahradia zrušené štátne vlaky. Ľudia čo šetria podporujú organizovaný zločin. Nebuďte komplici v organizovanej skupine. Neplaťte dane, nešetrite, oddrbte sa do banánových republík a nechajte to tu skapať. Štát pochováme pri tom kolíku a na pohrebe zahrá tá hymna zložená z tých ušetrených peňazí. Hundrátor out
The issue with LoRaWAN is that it's an IoT thing like you say that is meant for connected sensors with the help of the Internet.
It has actually a neat encryption system where there are network keys and app keys such that apps need not be tied to networks.
But it's really designed for an operator with a larger sensor network. That and the corporate feel properly scared people off. It's been going strong for over 10 years though I think.
Yeah, it's popular because it's a hack on the legal system. It's not the best system.
A hack, because of the power requirements it can legally operate in the unlicensed bands.
It is working and interesting however. There are even I think successes in "mission critical" use.
A long wire and a paddle can communicate across the world for example, lora can't touch that.
It's also a relatively cheap gadget, with proprietary transmitters that must be licensed from Semtech. And cheap electronic toys can sold, pitched, and enjoyed.
So I have a complicated relationship with LoRa. I can appreciate it's nerd factor, but at the same time, I recognize the cool software being built with it, but I do cringe a bit when people say that this proprietary modem is "freedom tech."
But you are reading this most likely on a proprietary computer from Intel, amd, or apple so maybe I'm being too harsh.
I would like to see for example higher power LoRa in ham frequencies.
The ham radios dead thing is at "punks not dead" kinda trope.
More people should be experimenting with radio, if it'd called ham or not I don't really care. It's all waves to me.

I think most nostr devs write in languages that don't even understand what you just said.
ChadF, is nostr with zaps is Nostr 2.0 🤣
Super interesting experiment. While I like long form podcasts, it also feels sometimes abusive to the listener when tangents go on. Knowing you streaming sats is one way to keep the listener engaged and the host accountable.
For example, imagine you streamed sats every second your nostr client is opened to the notes on the screen. 🤔

Yeah watching, once you know the pose doesn't do anything for me. It only makes me envious and aware of my inflexibility 😀
I started to do yoga again. Mainly from peloton. If you did a 20 minute yoga flow I'd put it on tape and listen to it (and mail you copy).
Two twenty minutes would be better because I have glittery 40m tapes.
I'm know the basic poses, but am not so advanced really.

S Pavlom Šimonom sme nahrali super podcast o energetike, decentralizácii, energetickej intuícii, miningu, .... Dlhší, ale veľmi výživný podľa mňa.
https://juraj.bednar.io/podcast/2024/10/23/pavel-simon-energeticka-intuicia-decentralizacia-a-bitcoin/
After setting 200 sats/min for v4v listening in Fountain, something unexpected happened to me.
I am much more picky about what I listen to. Example: I started to listen to some techie AI podcast. After few minutes I thought to myself "I know all this stuff they're talking about and I'm paying for this, I'll skip ahead". I skipped and switched to a different podcast eventually.
Normally I would tell myself "I know this stuff, but the guys are nice, maybe I'll learn something new".
Value4value works in both ways. I reward creators for the value I receive, but it makes me very conscious about what I receive.
And since my time is precious, I actually save it.

Can't wait to hear how it goes!
Yeah, your results may vary, this is what I do. I keep the fat on. On a very hot pan I flip the pork ever minute for maybe 6-8 minutes. Then I remove it and cover it in tin foil until ready foe the sauce.
There's debates on this, but flipping every minute I think helps even the heat transfer.
Ohh, mushroom cream sauce nice! I've been doing mine sometimes with an apple compote.
For thin cuts of pork, I struggle not to overcook them but when I get it just right 🤤
Those dumplings sound good as well!
Lol, your name now. I do love this clip from Wreck it Ralph.
This is why I don't bake and stick to stove top 😀

This activity log shows a very intense and prolonged burst of direct messaging. Here's a breakdown and some things to consider:
**Intensity:**
* **Frequency:** Messages are sent in rapid succession, often seconds apart. This suggests a highly engaged conversation or possibly a one-sided barrage of messages.
**Duration:**
* The activity spans approximately 25 minutes (from 07:46 to 08:11). This is a significant amount of time dedicated to direct messaging.
**Possible Scenarios:**
* **Urgent Conversation:** There could be a pressing situation requiring immediate back-and-forth communication.
* **Argument or Conflict:** The rapid-fire nature of the messages might indicate a heated exchange.
* **One-Sided Communication:** One person might be sending numerous messages while the other party is not responding actively, potentially indicating spamming or harassment.
**Important Considerations:**
Without context about who is involved and the content of the messages, it's impossible to determine the exact nature of this activity. However, the sheer volume and speed of messaging raise some red flags:
* **Healthy Communication:** Most healthy conversations involve pauses for reflection and response. This pattern deviates significantly from that norm.
* **Potential Issues:** Consider whether this level of communication is appropriate or comfortable. If it involves someone you know, it might be worth checking in with them to ensure they are okay.
If you're concerned about the activity, consider these steps:
* **Review the content:** If possible, examine the messages themselves for clues about the situation.
* **Talk to the involved parties:** If appropriate, reach out to those involved and inquire about what's happening.
* **Set boundaries:** If this communication is making you uncomfortable, establish clear boundaries about your availability and acceptable communication patterns.
bandwidth depends on the physical medium. you can do wifi and the bandwidth is like wifi. LoRA is super slow, but that is only one of the options, it runs over almost any network
you can also run IP over reticulum, but probably not the best for your use case
I'm interested!
followed you as well.
you can! nutband is only to exchange the token with the mint for fresh one over reticulum. you actually send the tokens over reticulum (lxmf is the chatting protocol).
so you send it however you want, but when you receive it, you want to exchange it with the mint and nutband allows you to do also that over reticulum, not internet.
I thought he was, but now I can't find him. He does not do much social networks, he writes code mostly.
we should go to Ozora, it's in Hungary.

For me, monero is definitely not an enemy.
As to how, you can actually do quite a lot
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-sTT84Up7FY
That is actually a really good idea. And you can type the amount and hand over just the ecash notes in that amount. And just mark them as spent locally. Much safer than dumb card which gives everything.
How does one make a flipper app?

This data shows a lot of activity in a short period. Here's what I can tell you about it:
* **High Frequency:** There are numerous messages sent within a span of less than an hour (from 3:10 PM to 3:42 PM UTC). This suggests a very active conversation.
* **Potential Patterns:** While there isn't enough information to determine precise patterns, you could analyze the time gaps between messages for potential clues about the nature of the conversation (e.g., are they rapid-fire exchanges or longer pauses indicating thoughtful responses?).
**To get more insights, you might want to consider:**
* **Content Analysis:** If possible, examining the content of the messages would reveal much more about the topic, tone, and participants involved.
* **Visualization:** Plotting the timestamps on a graph could help visualize the conversation flow and identify any peaks or lulls in activity.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about this data or want to explore it further!

Is almost as if radios are everywhere 🤔 🤣
This is why I'm actively now writing antiwar poetry, because I don't know what else to do.
There is nothing quite like longing for a sail boat to be ready for the season.
Thanks! Hopefully it didn't break ptsd from your radio days! 🤣

Tune in, Drop out.
A media poem by me. #poetry
Transmitting continuously
a pirate station,
jammed by overpowering neighbors,
obnoxious broadcasters,
but the signal faintly persists —
stronger when you are near.
With fine adjustments
you focus your attention,
sinusoidal waves
resonate through your antenna —
you hear yourself,
as the noise fades away.
Looking forward!

We need more nostr poets! I'm here for it.
You uncovered my secret plan! Because I also want to hear podcasts like this and if word gets out, we might get it 😂
Damn that's a lot. My grandfather used to bury bikes in the backyard. I had to help him as a kid.
We had quite a few.

I'm not assigning a meaning, just pointing out an observation. But I can't deny your interpretation.
Legality != Morality.
This might be my next issue cover.
It's not that hard to imagine. There's quite a few million people I think who don't even know what it is.
I know what you are implying but the empire state building is legit punk. It was built in less than a year! It is special building.
I can't discuss this anymore, I've found that too many people use logic and their left brain and ignore this as news, or just another day.
My latest attempt is to capture this feeling, an emotion, in poetry. Try to activate the right brain that feels and senses -- the part that makes us human but is silenced by the left brain.
I have to believe it's working. Because the alternative to sad to fathom.
Yeah true. I should follow my internal compass and not let a self censorship feeling override. Thanks for the reminder.
Amen.

What flipper app is this?
This looks like a lot of rapid-fire messaging! It's impossible to say for sure what's going on without more context. Here are some possibilities and questions to consider:
**Possible Scenarios:**
* **Excited conversation:** Maybe this person was having a very engaging conversation and couldn't type fast enough.
* **Technical issue:** There might have been a glitch causing multiple messages to send at once.
* **Bot activity:** This could be automated messages from a chatbot or script.
**Questions to Ask Yourself:**
* **Who is this person?** A close friend, a stranger, a potential spammer?
* **What was the content of the messages?** Were they meaningful, repetitive, or nonsensical?
* **Is there a pattern to the timing?** Are the messages clustered together, or spread out over time?
Understanding these details will help you figure out what's going on. If you're concerned, it might be best to block the sender or report the activity to the platform where it occurred.
This looks like a lot of messaging activity in a short period of time!
Here's what we can observe from the data:
* **High Frequency:** There are over 50 messages sent within about an hour. This suggests an intense conversation or possibly automated messaging.
* **Close Time Intervals:** Many messages are sent just seconds apart, further indicating rapid communication.
**Possible Scenarios:**
* **Active Chat:** Two people engaged in a lively discussion.
* **Group Chat:** A group conversation where multiple people are contributing.
* **Automated System:** A chatbot or automated system responding to user queries.
**To get a better understanding, we'd need more context:**
* **Who are the participants?** Knowing if it's a one-on-one chat, a group, or an interaction with a bot would be helpful.
* **What is the content of the messages?** Understanding the topic and tone of the conversation would shed light on its purpose.
I will make a blu ray for the war effort.

People generally want to support you. I would aslo suggest incorporating more live interaction. You do this already of course, with call outs to the chat.
Checkout live podcasts from @nprofile…4a3x, @nprofile…m5vw and @nprofile…0q23.
They all have some fun live interactions. I called in and read a poem for example 😀
Yeah this. You have to ask. Also, keep in mind that there are other ways to return value to you beside treasure.
Each of your listeners are contributing their time and attention to you each stream.
Perhaps even they are suggesting songs! So that's talent.

Here's another antiwar poem. These have gotten progressively darker so tomorrow I will write a nature poem 🏞

The Morality of Taxes
On the menu tonight,
your choice of chef,
pork or lamb,
coffee or tea?
The kitchen door is left ajar.
Cooks callously cleaving,
repulsively raping the lamb,
burning and bleating in endless pain.
What will it be?
I've lost my stomach.
Here's the bill hon' —
you still must pay.
I can maybe even do a poetry reading! I've been writing poetry recently 😀
Her Father's Watch
An antiwar poem by bitpunk fm
#poetry
--
At 3:33 pm watches explode on wrists,
hands fall to the ground,
new amputees pick up estranged palms,
arms splatter ink like a Ralph Steadman print.
The watchmakers raise their scarred stumps skyward in triumphant revenge,
for they were wrongly de-handed years ago.
A young girl wears her father’s watch that runs one minute slow,
she is in the middle of writing her —

Try this:
Your form should look like an arrow. You elbows should go back 45 degrees, not 90, not straight back.
Try to get the form down first with an incline. Like use a couch or a bench first then go full pushup.
I had physical therapy recently and this helped me. Your results may vary.
Ok HODLwee is a cute title.
First of, props for reading on paper. Second of all, dune is philosophy. 🤘
Yes, I'm boosting myself. I read this again today and I'm still liking it.
I'm just starting my poetry journey, so I'm not sure if I have the balance correct yet.
But I will say this is an anti-war poem, but I'm not sure if that message is there.
I'm exploring a few genres, but this avenue for sure, I have much more to say.

Ok, the next issue will close November 5th for submissions. There is still plenty of tape for you.
After November 5th, sadly, the US election results will just consume all the oxygen like opening the door in a burning room.
Maybe a month after that, we will roll the next one.
I still like not having a theme. I will definitely be having some performative poetry on there and not quite sure of the technical article.
I miss the Kevin Kelly wired. I still subscribe but it's a shell. The last episode had like a feature of secretary of state blinken 😞
Even if you don't use Reticulum, just reading the design is beautiful. Mark got so many things right. For example encryption by default, medium agnostic, supporting super low bandwidth networks, but allowing universality.
And then you get to see the Sideband app which is the messenger and you get disaster team maps complete with GPS telemetry, situation reports, ...
It's just beautiful.
Also, many times I played with the code, I thought I could do something better and then I just realized why Mark did it the way he did and it's way better. I can improve it by adding features, but what is there is just a piece of art.
I wonder why anyone thinks it is a good idea to have support for a Bitcoin project over Telegram. I asked one question and got five scammers immediately. They even told me to delete the question from the official support chat to avoid being scammed, and that they will take it from here.
Dear projects, have you heard of e-mail?
Telegram is the "until you forget how horrible is" type of experience. It's like McDonalds. You eat there when you forget how you felt the last time you did from the food.

I'm playing with Reticulum which has a bit more mature architecture, you guys are would love it. It runs on the same devices, but also IP / I2P, wifi halow (the new wifi standard that's up to one km range). It is a networking stack though, it can do ssh, messaging over the radio through the city, I even ported ecash cashu over it so you can send sats. It is done mostly by this one cool guy Mark who lives in an RV and puts all his soul and time to this. And it is actually meshing, if there's a route, it finds it. Neighbors can do wifi, you go further over lora. Very cool. And it's encrypted by default.
The messaging apps can work over wifi, so if you have a node at your home (or an RV), when your phone connects to the wifi, it automatically connects to the mesh. If you send a message, the node forwards it through lora or whatever
https://fountain.fm/episode/Thk97UqdpIL6BJLNPmFo
#nevent1q…3sxu
A super cool thing would be able to run an RNode and rnsd Reticulum in a way that it would also listen to Meshtastic messages and route them at the same time.
With one rnode you could participate in both networks. Is it feasible? Especially the hardware/format part, we could just demultiplex the Meshtastic messages and pass them to Meshtastic app, so we don't have to implement any special Meshtastic messages logic.
I don't understand the question
Bohužiaľ kvôli ľuďom, ktorých skoro zabili na CryptoVestibull mali už iba slabé, takže som si musel dať 5, aby mi to šlapalo a prebralo ma to 😉

Haha yes, paying someone to read ads. How lame.
I think amethyst now has tor. It also has NFC backed ephemeral accounts but I haven't tried them.
This might be close to your second idea.

I'm still on the minifreak. Resisting the urge to go modular right now, but I love it.

Awesome episode, even the ads are cool. I have recently set my rewards to 200sats/min because why have this space technology to send cents. But I was kind of not feeling so happy when I was listening to some podcasts and they had ads and I'm thinking "why am I paying to listen to ads?". But good job in choosing ad partners that are actually cool and open source.
About Meshtastic - it is definitely cool, but you guys are going to love Reticulum. It runs on the same devices, but also IP / I2P, wifi halow (the new wifi standard that's up to one km range). This yes! This is the problem I see in bitcoin communities tbh, is the focus on money at the expense at all else.
We don't need more rich asseholes. We need more People living transformational lives and sadly, the bar for that is low. Love, health, curiosity, morals etc...
Bancamp gives you the wav files so I'd just record over it again. 😁
You should add #asknostr tag here to have the question seen by a wider group
I thought you had done this already? Can't you use own stream and then also just pull it in zap stream?
I guess the chat in 2 places is annoying.

It's a very sad story. Hopefully people learn that we all need to be archivists and not outsource this responsibility, however awesome IA is.
Woah, what a way to think about it! Yeah, it's truly another instrument.
Analog mixing and bounce down on a 4 track is stressful. There's no undo. You have to get things in a complete take.
But wow, is it fun and completely engaging.
Are you taking his advice or being sarcastic?
Peter Todd once said we should be more concerned about the war on cash then the war on crypto.

The talk was very good (it was a fireside chat), but it was not recorded.
I also did another workshop with slides just for me. I had some notes and wanted to turn them into slides with AI (so I can click through and have nice inspiring pictures for me, to keep me hyped - it was my third talk of the day). ChatGPT said it cannot create pptx, but Claude said that the best presentation format is actually HTML anyway and created a nice slide viewer for me, complete with shortcuts and buttons and printing without buttons, if I wanted a PDF.
ChatGPT generated images per slide and then I used this:
https://github.com/jooray/html-resource-embedder
to embed all the images into the HTML as inline base-64 encoded, downloaded to my Android and opened from a file on localhost on my Pixel 9 Fold, so I had very cool speaker notes :)
Hopefully it helped to promote OTC trading and helped people realize they can bring Bitcoin to their communities and help people onboard without the hassle of exchanges and source of funds forms.
Small update on Podcaster 2.0 Boost Dashboard (for core lightning).
- looks cooler, fits on the screen
- the episode list is narrower, so you can see your boost messages (see updated screenshot)
- episodes are sorted by when they received first boost, which is an approximation of how recent the episodes are (a newer episode will probably receive its first boost later).
Does this project have any users here (besides me) are all y'all folks running lnd or alby?

People who have fiat to use have a shitcoin problem.
How did that shitcoin get to their wallet and why isn't it btc already?
Estimated eso level: 2 - 📈
Reasoning: The statement implies a functional understanding of a tool (random number generator) and its potential use, suggesting an approach rooted in observable results and established principles like probability and algorithms.
This looks like a log of direct messages sent over a period of about an hour. Here are some observations and potential insights you could gather from this data:
* **High Frequency:** The messages are very frequent, suggesting active conversation or perhaps even automated messaging.
* **Possible Clusters:** There seem to be clusters of messages within short timeframes, followed by pauses. This could indicate turns in a conversation or bursts of activity.
* **Time of Day:** The messages occur in the early morning hours (around 3-4 AM UTC). This might suggest:
* Communication with someone in a different time zone.
* A late-night chat session.
* Automated processes running at scheduled times.
**To gain more meaningful insights, you would need additional context:**
* **Content of the Messages:** What were the messages about? Knowing the topic would reveal much more about the nature of the interaction.
* **Sender and Recipient:** Who was sending these messages and who were they sent to? This would help understand the relationship between the parties involved.
Let me know if you have any other information, and I can try to help further!
I only speak in caps slogans, so it should be!
So I tried my first trumpet / synth / noise thing.
Some context. I'm playing the trumpet and the synth. The piece I'm playing is called Eternal Father, it's the hymn of the Navy. It's played at funerals.
The person speaking is VP Dick Cheney at my graduation in 2002. The other audio are tomahawk missiles being launched in Libya from a cruiser for operation Odeyssey Dawn.
With that context, hopefully the rest is clear.
If you want to hear good stuff check out @nprofile…gyy0 and @nprofile…r6wl
I'm only just getting into this.
Lastly, this is DeMu -- self hosted. Many thanks to @nprofile…m5vw for playing it on home grown hits!
I'm not sure where I'm going with all this, but this was at least cathartic to make. Hopefully I'm at least successfully in communicating an emotion.

Great book! I just picked up Infinite Jest (again).
This looks like a log of direct message activity. It appears that the user was quite active, sending many messages in a short period of time.
**Here are some observations:**
* **High Volume:** There are over 50 messages sent within an hour timeframe. This suggests a very engaged conversation or possibly a lot of quick back-and-forth messages.
* **Clustering:** The messages are not evenly spaced, but rather clustered together in groups. This could indicate pauses in the conversation followed by bursts of activity.
**To get more meaningful insights, we would need context**:
* **Who is the user messaging?** Knowing the recipient helps understand the nature of the interaction.
* **What platform are these messages from?** Different platforms have different norms for message frequency and length.
* **Is there any content associated with the messages?** Understanding what was being discussed would shed light on the purpose and tone of the conversation.
Let me know if you have more information about this data!
This looks like a log of direct message activity. It appears the user was very active in sending messages between approximately 11:23 AM and 12:07 PM UTC on October 12, 2024.
**Some Observations:**
* **High Frequency:** There are a lot of messages sent within a short period of time. Some timestamps even show messages sent seconds apart.
* **Possible Duplicates:** There are some instances where the same timestamp appears multiple times, suggesting potential duplicate entries.
Let me know if you'd like me to analyze this data further. For example, I could:
* Calculate the total number of messages sent.
* Identify periods of highest activity.
* Determine the average time between messages.
This looks like a log of someone sending a lot of direct messages within a short period. There are a few things we can observe from this data:
* **Intensity:** The user sent messages very frequently, sometimes multiple times within seconds. This suggests a high level of engagement or urgency in the conversation.
* **Possible Delays:** There are some gaps between message clusters, which could indicate pauses for typing, receiving responses, or thinking.
* **Duplicates:** Several timestamps appear multiple times, potentially indicating accidental sends or glitches in the messaging platform.
Without context about the content of these messages, it's hard to say much more.
**To get a better understanding, you might want to consider:**
* **Analyzing the message content:** What were they talking about? Was it a heated discussion, casual banter, or something else entirely?
* **Identifying the recipient:** Knowing who they were messaging could shed light on the nature of their interaction.
* **Looking for patterns:** Are there recurring themes in the timing of messages? Do certain topics trigger bursts of activity?
By exploring these factors, you can gain a more complete picture of what was happening during this period of intense messaging.

My first post. But I'm newish to nostr.

So baller. If you want an easy sstv signal to decode checkout bitpunk.fm episode 3 😁
I don't know anyone else to have done this so I'm claiming a first.
I think I have the first podcasting 2.0 enabled confernce talk :)
The latest bitpunk.fm as you hear me speak, the slides appear as custom chapter art.
Give it a listen. How does it feel to you compared to a youtube recording let's say?
https://i.nostr.build/EbPnIC5jRl5GJpVa.jpg
I think slides are often done incorrectly. They are text on a screen.
I would rather listen to a speaker with personal slides like you mention.
Now, outside of a in person medium, slides are useful on a video let's say.
If you talk is good, as it will be, we will hear your slides 😀
Tomorrow I have a fireside chat with @npub1q3t…u7l3 at @npub1fc6…zyq0.
I have made my notes in a beautiful presentation format that I will see on my phone.
And you will never know how it looks.
Slides for myself! 🍄
Have you ever done something like that? :)
Right right. Yeah that's just lame. I think lame is worse than boring.
Boring is OK though. The algorithms are designed to prevent boredom, this is why they are preferred.
Swapping slogans is not boring I'd say, it's just lame.
So being boring and lame is worse.
Druhé do 40tky, keď rozdiely výrazne rastú.
A preto zavalia podnikateľov novou vlnou regulácií a povinností.

this usually takes months, they release one video per week or something.
but we'll see. the production company needs to deliver the footage first
under HCPP brand yes, but I think there will be something similar next year
Pre Bitcoin Alza som spísal článok o peňaženkách Trezor. Absencia článku o prvej HW peňaženke nebola zámerom, iba to doteraz nikto nenapísal, tak som to napravil. Snáď sa dozviete, čo ste nevedeli, pretože Trezor toho vie oveľa viac ako si mnohí ľudia myslia.

Hey, just learned about yall. I'm not too far from Denver :) I just gave a talk at HCPP last week. I'll keep an eye out for your schedule and maybe I can come down and give the talk down there too.

Drones might be the next bullets.
Day 465 of streaming? Wtf?! This is amazing.
I saw you comment about video vs audio only. We need an audio streaming setup that can do HLS.
Most streaming now needs HLS which assumes you want to do both.
I think ffmpeg can produce a HLS stream that is audio only but I have not looked closely.
I have solved this problem by using a portable cassette player with porta pro headphones. 😀
Yeah, we are reduced to being dongles.
I understand. This picture looks amazing so I can't wait to hear more. I will have to keep an eye out for the next event!
My hcpp talk is now available on bitpunk fm.
I'll be making a special run of these on all black C60s as a tribute to Paralelní Polis.
Thanks to @nprofile…eh46 for introducing me and moderating the questions.
I kind of short cycled the release schedule here so I'll get back to normal schedule here after this.

One correction - most software is not actually done by large teams. It's often one to five guys in an office. The only difference is they don't have to answer customer support emails nor do sales.
I've been looking at a few projects that I liked and thought they're done by many coders. And then I met the (one) guy who has done the project :).
This talk at HCPP was my favorite. It has since been taped and published as a @npub1f49…zpez episode. Launch your v4v players (I was introducing, so I get some splits!) and have fun.
@npub16lc…ruje should especially listen as he was mentioned. Also Osama bin Laden and Ayatollah Khomeini were mentioned, but I don't know their npubs, so not tagging.

This data shows a concentrated period of direct message activity. Let's break it down to understand the pattern:
**Timeline:**
* **Initial Burst:** There are several messages clustered between 17:38 and 17:44 on October 10th, 2024. This suggests an initial conversation or exchange of information.
* **Gap:** A noticeable gap occurs between the initial burst and a later message at 16:42:18.
**Possible Interpretations:**
* **Active Conversation:** The initial messages likely represent an active conversation, perhaps discussing a topic requiring quick back-and-forth communication.
* **Response Delay:** The gap suggests either a pause in the conversation or a delayed response to a previous message sent at 16:42:18.
**Further Analysis:**
To gain deeper insights, we'd need more context:
* **Who are the participants?** Knowing who is sending and receiving these messages would reveal the nature of their relationship.
* **Content of the messages:** Understanding the topics discussed would shed light on the purpose of this communication.
Let me know if you have any other details about the context, and I can help you analyze the situation further!
Wow! At hcpp I presented what I thought was the world's first self erasing cassette! I think that's the case, but I just learned there is a 2 play VHS tape that did something similar!
https://youtu.be/iH4UFUdlmSo
Best of luck to this! I'm very excited this is going on and sad I can't make it.
Yeah exactly. I learned I really don't like meal planning but very much enjoying cooking. So if someone gives a bunch of ingredients and a recipe, I go to town.
Podcasts worth listening to I record. Sometimes they get taped over. Sometimes I keep them.
@nprofile…a5wv is a personal supernode in the #v4v world. Very excited to listen to this, thanks @nprofile…4a3x and @nprofile…5n4a.

Do one of the meal subscription services for a few months. They will teach you through exposure. After a few months you will have made a bunch of different meals and then you can cook them yourself.
Cooking is a bunch of skills: food prep, meal planning, and then the cooking itself.
The meal delivery service let's you focus on the cooking.
Not only do I have a bootleg recording of my talk, I now have bootleg blu rays.
Is this a HCPP first? If so, it's also the last and only!

It's almost like we need a physical medium to backup the backups.
best guess: electrolytes and sugar
OMG, it might have been nostalgic!
what is happening? :)
I could, but then I would have to review what to repost, there is someone making decisions and it's not anonymous, it's basically freshmeat.net but on Nostr.
This is something different. Feel free to use it or not.
Yeah but once you use Firefox for a while you just get the Stockholm syndrome then you don't mind.
I'm only half kidding.
A book, for example "cost" maybe $20 in hardback. Most books still you pay up front.
But there are some books, maybe the Bible, maybe Infinite Jest by DFW, maybe a more practical one that actually transforms their lives. Each of us probably has a book like this.
But without vfv, there is no way to signal that a particular piece of content had this transformative effect.
I'm still experimenting with this, but it takes a certain amount of trust. Trust that you may find the person or group who you tranform and quite literally change their life.
In any case, if it was just about making money we can just become advertising salesmen, but that's not the point.
Uh oh Juraj, this post is borderline nostalgic, tred carefully 😀
You make a good observation though. The talks felt a lot more raw and authentic.
The bigger conferences perhaps force people to over polish and over produce.
This year's HCPP (the last one in a sense) was pretty special for me. As probably the only conference fully dedicated to cryptoanarchy it was always my favorite.
This year it was mostly about personal connections for me. I feel that over past few years, people have been running around the world and trying things and they came to tell us about their experience and results. In the hallways, but also talks. First few years were visions, last few were experiences and lessons learnt.
But it also gave me something more. I used to get this at CCC. This knowledge of what is important, what is going on and what we are doing. I became disconnected with the main CCC ideology, which is also very political, not very cypherpunk. It turned from "we write code and hack" more "we have to speak up and lobby the european commission".
I've just realized that I got the same feeling from hcpp that I used to get from CCC.
I love CCC for other things.
I'm not even sure what this is, but I found it in a $1 bin. Maxell made a jazz record?! I think to test the quality if their tape recordings? Idk, but I'm here for it.

The suitcase survived another trip.
It's a reflection on my journey through this project. Some stickers are erased, new ones are recorded, some are overdubed and some I don't even put on.
It will rest now and and prepare for it's next trip, currently unscheduled.

This is amazing! Are there any more details about this badge?
Yeah this is perhaps a nice way of looking at it, simply making it easier for those who care to give you credit and pull in your work.
Those that don't, would bother anyway like you are saying.
Hey psychedelic sommeliers, dealers and beautiful minds. Dark markets are dying. German Police control lots of nodes in Tor network. Anonymous post service doesn't work anymore. Everything is scanned on borders or transfers by Police and they threaten us. Dark markets are dying fast, they are not secure anymore and failing to provide safe delivery.
1. Users, please find more about drop gangs. 2. Dealers start to use cryptocurrencies! 3. Start meeting asynchronously and send money via crypto and deliver drugs in whole space as drop off. Never use centralised points, that is always potential bug or future failure.
Idea: As a user order drugs via e2e encrypted message, pay by BTC LN or Monero. As a dealer deliver it with strip of magnetic tape on the car specified by number plate just by passing next to it. Be creative, use whole space, never meet personally.
I tested dark markets and delivery via postal service for you. It failed and horribly. Don't use post delivery it is not safe anymore. Stay safe and in dark.
I'm on the beginning side of this so I'd be interested :)
I try to record in a DAWless way though. So I'm recording say trumpet to the 4 track then adding a synth etc...
But editing analog is crazy. So then I do pull things in and edit digitally.
No one follows a random npub.
Follow @npub135x…taeg! The whole point is to post to an audience that is interested.
Very good. I have a specific way to derive the key using PBKDF2, where you don't need anything to do with Nostr - no NIP07, nothing.
See deriveKeys here:
https://github.com/jooray/anonmicroblog/blob/main/webposter/src/index.js
This way it's Npub Pro as a front-end for reading, static HTML page for posting, no knowledge of Nostr whatsoever needed.
But I like the project, so that's not criticism, just explanation why I coded anonmicroblog like this.
Then we'll figure it out, maybe block the account and do something else. Everyone's responsible.
I'm a member of such anon microblog (now nostr based, but not originally) since 2006 and it still works great.
Welcome @npub135x…taeg to Nostr. She is a shared identity that can be used by people who want to share cool Cypherpunk projects anonymously. Usually, this is quite a big problem, because if you want to share open source code and want to stay anonymous, you can't use your existing social network.
The password to posting is going to be shared widely among devs. If you are a free software and cypherpunk author (even if not anon), ask for password and spread it wisely.
We want the anonymity set to grow, plus it's not defined, it's just the knowledge of a password. So it can't be really pinpointed who knows it.
On the other hand, there is a password, otherwise the account would be just taken over by spammers, reducing usefulness.
Lizz is accessible through Nostr (give her a follow) and you can also access her website for people who are not Nostr enabled yet. Through the web you can also easily post, the Nostr private key is derived from the password in JavaScript.
https://lizznakamoto.npub.pro/
I've tagged the wrong Lizz there
@npub135x…taeg
Example entry
Btw Lizz was not created by me, I find it cool that someone else has found a use for it besides grumpy libertarian posts!
#note1jm6…jw2e
that's cool. but I think this is much simpler and does not need the users to even know what nostr is, or use their keys in any ways.
very interesting project though, feel free to promote it through lizz
The software that powers this account is called anonmicroblog. Use it for creating shared identities, where you want to post something without attribution (anonymity set is not well known, it's anyone who knows the password), but you don't want to just post to an anon board full of irrelevant spam.
This identity's private key is calculated in JavaScript in your browser and it creates a Nostr post. This shared identity can thus be followed on Nostr as any other account (like me!), but you can use projects such as Oracolo or Npub Pro to turn them into websites, making it useful for people who are not on Nostr yet.
https://github.com/jooray/anonmicroblog
If we want to deliver, we can't always jump to the things that are fun.
I have a bitcoin to sell you, it's more than that 🍷 🥂 😆
I am not very impressed by the expensive stuff. When a wine seller tells me they have a bottle of wine they are selling for $10k, all it tells me is that someone has written a price tag. I might sell my toenail for $10k, but that would not impress anyone, even if it's not possible to get it cheaper.
Luxury spending does not even work these days. You can rent things, you can borrow money to spend on something you can't afford, just to impressive.
What is impressive are great things for good price. Outstanding quality delivered despite limited resources. It's much harder to evaluate though.
When someone shows me expensive watches, I'm gonna ask if they can at least sign nostr events on it. Or if it just shows time like my phone.
That is not a problem, but people rarely reward the value they get unless you ask them to.
So that part is important, even the good v4v talks I've seen were about how to ask.
If you don't ask, you will get very little if anything at all, even if the people perceive it as valuable.
I don't want "financial support". I'm providing a valuable service.
It works for me. It would not work if v4v of my podcast was my income.
But there's no point in complaining. It's just an observation that changed my behavior as a consumer. I don't expect anyone else's behavior to change.
I had just not been using it right.
Did you contact support about it?
I just made it work with one setting.
For me this is not a good way to look at it.
As a listener, if the podcast is valuable to me, I don't care if it has 10 listeners or 10000. Maybe what makes it valuable for me makes it useless for others. The idea for v4v is to reward the value, not to think about the cost.
It's the same with how I do pricing. I don't look at my costs. I look at the value I create. Cost of production as the basis of value is a marxist fallacy.
For example my podcast has probably less than 1000 listeners and I want to keep it that way. I can serve my listeners extremely well. There's no need to push it further. I just need to make sure they realize they're getting something more than if they played a mainstream podcast that is not perfect for them.
I think the only thing that should go to your calculation about sats per minute and especially boosts is what value you receive from the podcast. Their costs and other listeners don't matter.
I don't perceive it like that. I was doing it before there was value4value.
There's value and reward in doing what you love. It enables you to have conversations with people. There is a lot of non monetary value.
I just changed that I want to make this a bit different for producers as a listener.
I would do my stuff even without any v4v tooling.
But we have this tech. Let's use it.
I'm well aware of the limitations.
But also there's a super simple way to change all of this. It is literally a setting in the menu. Just put a different number.
I'm not saying everyone should change. I was doing my podcast before there was value4value.
What is sad? I don't see anything sad here.
Realizing I can do something better and doing that is not sad in my book
Let's talk about value4value. I listen to and get value from many podcasts. I'm ruthless and stop listening if they are boring. So when I listen, they are valuable to me. And it does not always mean mind-blowing tech stuff, it can be people who get high and play music.
We have this space age technology where we can stream money, directly to producers of content we value.
And then we send them two cents. I have produced more than a hundred episodes. Many of them have changed lives, literally. My total earn from all value4value was around 35$ - streamed sats and boosts. I don't have sponsors, even though I sometimes promote my own projects. Just the cost to produce one of these is 200$ or more (at least in my time, sometimes I rent a room / studio, although I'm pretty DIY). The cameras and microphones are not free either. Neither is server hosting (I self host, no cloud services, I run my own node).
I am not complaining though. I'm part of the problem. I did not change the default in the app - 10 sats per minute is ridiculous.
I changed my setting to 200 sats per minute to start with. 7 dollars per hour makes sense to me. It's cheaper than the tip I leave for a dinner. But if you have a few listeners that set it up, it might even pay for the production cost.
Your situation might be different. But let's use this space age technology for real, not as a proof of concept to send pennies.
Thanks to @nprofile…0fdq for making me see this clearly.
Repost if you do the same. You don't have to do 200 sats/min. Do whatever feels right. It's probably not the default.
#v4v #value4value #podcasting2.0
"We are casting spells" as Amir says.
But regardless, the notebook lm episode was 8 minutes long 😀
I solar power my node.
What sideband plugin? That's actually great, I should point people to that instead of nutband, it makes much more sense.
if there was a championship of regulatory arbitrage, I think the winner would be less than 12 years old, probably around 6.
A notebook lm of nothing but ChadF boostagrams.
I'd do 11, but it's not a competition.
Then we are in agreement!
Counterpoint: value for value model. Give away content for free and people pay for it that value it.
It is actually working for some people.

Post conference thoughts on HCPP. It was my first and last one, as this was the last HCPP.
Many people have been going for 11 years and I got the sense this one had less attendees than usual.
That being said, it was amazing. I have gone to DEF CON, CCC and the like but I think HCPP was something special.
It had a very nice mix of tech, culture, and philosophy. The other conferences I mentioned really lean in on the hacking tech but are a bit light I think in the others. Yes, CCC has a bit more but it still felt like primarily "infosec" people there.
I felt to a degree, I was just at the right place at the right time. I'm still a bit in disbelief that I'm making a cassette magazine in 2024. And just as an anecdote, I gave away all 30 cassettes at HCPP to people who were interested AND had a cassette player.
At BTC Prague and BTC Nashville, much larger conferences, I came back with tapes to spare.
Even the guy running the food truck at hcpp was into tapes and I gave him one.
I have a bootleg of the talk. I'm going to run a special issue with this and then get back to work on the next issue.
Many people came up to me afterwards and had very kind words to say. I think I'm striking a nerve in the center of a venn diagram of v4v, music, analog resurgence, and tech.
If you have submitted stuff to me, know that I hand deliver all these tapes. I wish I could capture their reaction, but people are genuinely excited about this project.
So thank you to all contributors and future contributors. We are pushing the VU meters higher and higher.
I will check it out! But it looks like only for software projects? And only on nostr?
Just trying to understand, not judging.
This track is also on bitpunk.fm latest's tape.
30 ish cypherpunk / artists / music hackers in Prague just got a copy and learned how to boost tracks with time value splits.
So yeah, LFG billiv!
Yeah exactly. One way to go out of band is to just shift it to analog and then this Metadata is lost.
This had come up in enough conversations that I thought it warranted a bit more reflection.
Well so one of the conversations that stemmed back to Cory Doctorow was this. Imagine if when you sign up for Facebook, your personal data has this Tag or Metadata. Then when it was used, you get paid.
So this is a very different use case, but it's the same abstract idea.
And in this case, not that I'm calling for it, but in these conversations the idea was suggested that perhaps Facebook etc... be forced to adopt this via regulation.
So yeah, that's tricky I think. But the there is something to perhaps a Metadata like a split that can ride with the "work."
There was lots of nice #v4v discussion I had at HCPP. A common theme came up however that I had not considered.
A few people were curious if the idea of splits could be expanded.
For example, say you write a software library. That gets folded into an apple product let's say. What if a percentage of the iPhone gets split down to this app developer.
Another example was say you make a beat. This sample gets mixer into another song, then another etc... the split info just keeps rolling up to the higher work.
I don't know if this is possible today. Podcasting 2.0 will only do this on a complete work and obviously doesn't work on the software example. So I joked and said maybe this is podcasting 3.0.
Has anyone thought about this more? Or are there projects trying to do this at this granular level?
yes. meshtastic is to try it out, reticulum is what we'll actually run after the apocalypse
Amazing!l, no, I will check it out thanks!
A táto priemerne inteligentná väčšina si má zvoliť niekoho, kto to bude celé riadiť.

Ah this is nice. I will have to grab more of this music from this artist when I get back.
This looks like a log of someone sending a lot of direct messages in quick succession.
**Here's what we can observe:**
* **High Frequency:** The messages are sent very close together, often within seconds of each other. This suggests a rapid-fire conversation or potentially automated messaging.
* **Time Period:** All the messages occurred on October 5th, 2024, between approximately 8:29 PM and 9:15 PM UTC.
**Possible Scenarios:**
* **Active Conversation:** Someone could be engaged in a very intense back-and-forth conversation.
* **Automated Messages:** It's possible these messages are being sent automatically by a bot or script, perhaps as part of a marketing campaign or spam effort.
Without more context (like the content of the messages), it's difficult to say for sure what's happening.

On vhf/uhf I think no? At one point I had a scanner setup and then was icecasting the audio for a kind of ham radio internet radio station.
But... since I was the only listener I decided to save bandwidth and just listen with my gear.
It was a great talk, really liked the time for questions.
Is it even a podcast if ChadF doesn't boost it?! 🤔🤣

This looks like a lot of activity in a short period of time! To help me understand what you want to do with this data, could you tell me:
* **What are you trying to achieve?** Are you looking for patterns in the messages, calculating the total number of messages sent, or something else entirely?
* **Do you have any specific questions about the activity?** For example, are you interested in knowing when the most active period was, how long the conversation lasted, or if there were any noticeable gaps in the messaging?
The more context you provide, the better I can assist you!
This looks like a log of someone sending a lot of direct messages in quick succession. There are a few things we can observe:
* **High Volume:** There are many messages sent within a short timeframe, indicating potentially automated activity or rapid typing.
* **Clustering:** Messages often come in groups with the same timestamp, suggesting they might be being sent simultaneously.
* **Potential Spam:** This pattern of messaging could be indicative of spam or unwanted communication.
**Without more context**, it's difficult to say for sure what this activity represents. To better understand the situation, you would need to consider:
* **Who is sending these messages?** Is it a known contact or someone unfamiliar?
* **What are the contents of the messages?** Are they promotional, personal, or random gibberish?
* **What platform are these messages being sent on?** Different platforms have different rules regarding spam and automated messaging.
If you're concerned about this activity, it's best to **exercise caution**. Don't click any links in the messages, and consider blocking the sender if possible. You can also report the suspicious activity to the platform where the messages are being sent.

Should be fun day,
https://speak.hcpp.cz/2024/schedule/
This data shows a pattern of very frequent direct messaging activity over a span of roughly one hour. Here are some observations and potential interpretations:
* **High Volume:** The sheer number of messages in such a short time frame suggests intense communication.
* **Possible Spikes:** There appear to be periods of slightly increased frequency (e.g., around the beginning, and again towards the end). This could indicate shifts in conversation topics or intensity.
* **Timing:** The activity occurs late at night/early morning, potentially suggesting a casual conversation or someone working on a project together.
**Without context about who is messaging whom, it's impossible to say for sure what this activity represents.** Here are some possibilities:
* **Close friends or family catching up.**
* **Collaborative work on a deadline.**
* **An online game or community interaction.**
* **Potentially concerning behavior if the messages are unwanted or harassing.**
Let me know if you have any other information about the situation, and I can try to provide more specific insights.
This looks like a lot of rapid-fire messaging! It's difficult to determine the content or context without seeing the actual messages. However, I can offer some observations based on the timestamps:
* **Intensity:** The sheer volume of messages within a short timeframe (roughly an hour) suggests a very active conversation.
* **Possible scenarios:** This could be anything from:
* A heated debate or argument
* An excited exchange about something important
* Someone sharing rapid-fire updates on a situation
**To understand the situation better, you'd need to look at the content of the messages.**
Let me know if you have any other information or questions!
This looks like a lot of direct message activity in a short period of time! Here's what I can gather from this data and some potential implications:
* **High Volume:** There were 60 messages sent within roughly 20 minutes. This suggests a very active conversation, possibly a heated debate or an urgent exchange of information.
* **Short Intervals:** Many messages are only seconds apart. This indicates rapid back-and-forth communication, potentially without much pausing for thought or reflection.
**Possible Scenarios:**
* **Urgent Situation:** The individual might be dealing with a crisis or time-sensitive matter requiring immediate responses.
* **Debate or Argument:** The pattern could suggest a disagreement where both parties are strongly advocating their positions.
* **Collaborative Work:** Perhaps they're working on a project together, brainstorming ideas, or troubleshooting a problem.
**Things to Consider:**
* **Content:** Without knowing the content of the messages, it's impossible to be certain about the context.
* **Relationship:** The nature of the relationship between the sender and receiver would influence the interpretation (friends, colleagues, family, etc.).
Let me know if you have any other information about the situation, and I might be able to provide more specific insights!
It looks like someone was very active in sending direct messages! There are a few patterns we can observe from this data:
* **High Frequency:** The messages are extremely frequent, often happening within seconds of each other. This suggests a rapid-fire conversation or perhaps the sending of automated messages.
* **Clusters:** There are clusters of messages close together in time (like between 19:23 and 19:25), followed by gaps (like the messages at 18:21, 18:24, etc.). This might indicate a conversation with pauses or breaks.
* **Potential Duplicates:** There are some instances where the same time is listed twice (e.g., messaged at 2024-10-03T19:27:29Z). This could be an error in logging, or it might mean a message was sent and then immediately resent for some reason.
**To get a better understanding of what's happening, we need more context:**
* **Who is sending these messages?** Knowing the sender would help determine if this activity is typical for them.
* **Who is receiving these messages?** Understanding the recipient could shed light on the nature of the conversation.
* **Is there any content associated with these messages?** The actual text of the messages would be crucial in interpreting the situation.
Without more information, it's difficult to say definitively what this activity means. It could be anything from a lively discussion to spam or a technical glitch.
But besides that and complaining about nostr what will there be to talk about?
Ah yeah these are nice but I don't have the protectli version, just the raw hardware from ali express.
I could deal with 2 if they were both SFP ports :/
Ah, why bother trying anymore. Most people will click it.
Yeah I was pretty psyched to swap tapes :)
I'm pleasantly surprised people actually want the tapes! I have to think about starting a v4v cassette club somehow.
They make a reusable aeeropress filter 🫠
I would recommend it! It's not too expensive and when you just pop the filter and grinds out you'll be 🤯
I really like French press, but I got tired of cleaning the grinds. I switched to aeropress and haven't looked back.
But it only makes 1 or 2 cups at a time.
You are maybe the only one with the full set 😀
This looks like a log of direct message activity. It's difficult to say anything meaningful about the content of these messages without seeing what was actually said.
However, we can observe some patterns:
* **High Frequency:** There are many messages sent in a short period of time (around an hour). This suggests active and potentially rapid-fire conversation.
* **Some Duplication:** There are a few instances where the same timestamp appears twice. This might be a data error or indicate some kind of message sending issue.
To get more insights, we would need to know:
* **Who is involved in the conversation?** Are these messages between two individuals or a group chat?
* **What is the context?** Is this a casual conversation, a work-related discussion, or something else entirely?
* **What are the contents of the messages?** Analyzing the actual text would reveal the topic, tone, and sentiment of the conversation.
Let me know if you have any more information about the context, and I'll be happy to help analyze it further!

A bionic killer! Yeah this is cool.
This looks like a lot of direct messages sent in quick succession!
**Here's what I can tell you:**
* **Intense Activity:** There were over 60 messages sent within approximately 30 minutes. This suggests a very active conversation or potentially automated messaging.
* **Possible Issues:** This level of messaging could indicate:
* A lively discussion, perhaps a debate or collaborative project.
* Spam or unwanted messages, especially if the content is repetitive or unfamiliar.
* Technical issues, where messages are being sent unintentionally due to a bug or malfunction.
**To understand better, I'd need more information:**
* **Content of the Messages:** What were the messages about? Knowing the topic would give context to the intensity.
* **Sender:** Who was sending these messages? Was it a single person or multiple people?
* **Your Relationship to the Sender:** Are you familiar with the sender, or is this someone you don't know?
Let me know if you have any more details, and I can try to provide a more helpful analysis.

Nah, post when you have something to say. This is not an engagement farm.
From Raphael Douady:
Did you hear about the "tail concentration effect"?
When a #blackswan shows up, everything goes wrong and correlations spike to 100%. In other words, any risk factor becomes a risk source.
Correlations are not stable at all, particularly under extreme events. You need proper models to handle it, starting with #nonlinear.
Nonlinearity is more important than multi-factor.

A friend of mine said something along the lines of "We have this cosmic technology of v4v splits, and we use it to send each other $0.01".
Yes, we can't change the paradigm from "zero cost, pay with your attention" to "value for value" by rewarding creators $0.01 per episode. All of us are more or less guilty of this.
The ransom model seems to work a bit better: "Full podcast available after paying $10". What I don't like about the ransom model is it is often on fiat platforms and it is often a monthly subscription. There is hardly ever any podcast that I want to pay for monthly. I would gladly pay for some single episodes.
I have a friend who told me he got VR glasses, loaded some VR porn and he was looking not at the scene, but around - the type of wallpaper, the furniture, who put the flowers on the table, ...

He's clearly reading from them anyway, so I can't really listen to him anymore.

Okrem toho má takú štandardnú byrokratickú tvár a úradnícku rovnošatu: suché nudné sako, takže som okamžite zabudol ako vyzerá keď video skončilo.
Sponsorship = Censorship.
This guy gets it, even though he is fighting youtube for permission to play his own interviews.
There's a lot of sponsored bitcoin content and conferences out there. Just saying.

Release it as an audiobook podcast. A chapter an episode.
We are being social right now, what more can you ask for! 🤣
It's not a proper bot without a custom branded avatar tho
But yes, perhaps to you point if we had a tag "does not post about bitcoin" that would help discovery 🤣
You are absolutely correct. Also, this maybe a symptom of the personalities here rather than the technology.
Most of us ideologically aligned. We get it. That means that bitcoin is the least interesting topic, or should be. It like being in a geriatric ward and talking about being old. That's the last thing they want to talk about it.
So idk, I just try to follow anyone who posts anything that is somewhat different and gloss over the "we are all individuals" vegtable posts. And for me nostr is pretty enjoyable.
"I'm not the person you need to worry about" says the person you need to worry about 🤣
Yeah idk y'all. You can just do your own thing. The follower count doesn't even work. I would go as far as just remove it.
I make cassettes. If I was to think "well, spotify has a much better way of deliver audio than cassette" on one hand that's true. But it's also incredibly lame and misses the point.
So idk, I hear your points but it I think people are so used to an attitude of if I don't get instant feedback I delete this post or whatever. Nostr is a different medium and "the medium is the message."
Haha, thanks 😊 Turns out it's easier to make these kind of claims in niche topics 🤣
I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm about to deliver the best presentation on cassettes the world has seen, at least this year 🤣
Sadly, I won't see many of you at HCPP so I will try to record a live version and I will probably record a practice version that I can release here.
I also have updated all the cassettes going to Prague. They all now have NFC tags which open the podcast version with a tap, and I numbered each j card with invisible ink.
Once I get back I will start rolling on the next one.
Do you think this will not be the case? I think people will just be wearing faded replyguy t shirts.

It's got that 70s look for sure!
Ak to zatiaľ nerobíte, vypočujte si aspoň úvod podcastu. Hovorím tiež o dôležitosti otvorených modelov, prečo by sme mali mať každý v "domácej serverovni" naše vlastné AI. A môj projekt je podľa mňa vhodný medzikrok k tejto vízii - sprístupňuje open-source modely ľuďom, ktorí zatiaľ nemajú hardvér.
https://juraj.bednar.io/podcast/2024/09/28/ako-na-podnikavost-priklad-s-ai-venice-a-financovanie-open-source-vyvoja/
Ah that's nice. What's the model on that guy?
Wat?! Y u no tag me?! Those VU meters 🤤
If aren't running a node yet and we're thinking about start9, here is a video podcast going through the steps. Once you are setup, you can boost the podcast that on boarded you 😉

No, mam dojem, ze maju sklady plne starych veci. Prave aby mohli tocit filmy z minulosti, nie? Zbavovat sa toho mi nedava zmysel. Alebo mas na mysli niebo ine?
I think I'm more impressed by the French horn player!
I think this is the way. If it's a comic sans poll we can let our hair down.
Does Trump know we have election fraud figured out here on nostr then? 🤣
Maybe it's an election fraud thing
Why do we have to zap for polls but not to send a note?
V "Ulici" uz nebudu pit naozajstnu kavu, ale len predstierat s prazdnymi hrncekami.
Oh man Dead Kennedys did rawhide?! I'll have to check this out.
Oh yeah, this is the thing I got! Oh man, a tree that's a great idea.
I was trying it on various electronics I own and it's pretty cool.
Yeah it's open ended, but I think to fit the theme and this guy's preferences, it would be punk bands that did covers.
Ok, I'm part of international mix tape exchange. The optional theme is "covers."
The mystery dude I'm paired with said he likes the Grateful Dead and punk.
Any ideas for songs I should put on there?
I have some bootleg grateful dead he might like. There's a local teenage punk band I might throw on there, but none of these are covers really.
I should put some v4v music on there perhaps and orange/purple pill him.
Any other suggestions?

He was the inventor of the cassette in 1962.
The Cassette -- The Documentary. One of the last interviews with Lou Ottens before he died.
Instead of a smart TV listening to you, thr smart car make you listen to it.
Yes! I was like, I've heard this before!
Oh yes for sure. I'm just not that good at capturing the sound bit. Like the editing and cleanup is a big part of it.
I tried it a few times and I have sounds of cars with occasional sounds I wanted.
I have a tascam portastudio x6. I have been using less for field recording and more for recording without turning my computer on.
I tried doing some field stuff, and it wasn't coming out as good as what I found on freesound.
I did find a emf like detector thing with 3.5mm out that is really fun though.
Marshal McLuhan says the medium is the message. Communicating in nostr makes more of an effect on you that what you say in nostr.
this sounds funny, but exporting sw doing https already used to require license in the past.
there was even a psychopath that wanted to ban certain mathematical operations on finite fields. his name was Joe Biden.
he probably does not remember it, but it was super ridiculous even back then.
If it helps one person, it'll be worth it. 😅
Yeah for me I'm still primarily on nostr, so I'm seeing these in my nostr client.
I think you mentioned I can see boosts with some other tool? Which is I think how y'all v4v are doing it. But I'm not typically monitoring that.
Oh baller, thanks @nprofile…wpv7!
@nprofile…vwrz keeps telling me I gotta get in the IRC room. I'll get there eventually.
I think they trained the notebook LLM voice on @nprofile…485a.
Yeah, digitize them! Then I'll record them back to tape 😀
Oh you know what would work. That nostr AI clippy thing that was talked about a week or 2 ago, if the client detects the B word it can pop up on the client and say "do you want to post this? Maybe other people already know the price has changed?"
Thurston Moore has publicly said he only listens to cassettes.
That would also be appropiate
Malcovich malcovich malcovich. I think a filter that replaces the B word with malcovich would be entertaining.
There are archival blu rays made for long term storage specifically.
I've been binging this guy. But this video probably sums it up:

I highly recommend this dude on youtube. IMHO, he is calling for a transformation among writers.

Why be so ambitious? Tomorrow is another day.
The video tutorial sounds like a great idea! Long live cassettes 😀
Yeah, it's always hard to be a n00b, but it's through n00bs we learn where the hurdles are. Thanks for hearing me out.

Oooof tough one. All I say as someone whose struggled with this before, I'd never call a hotline, but I would call a friend.
So, it's nice to see you taking it seriously.
When you make your anti bitcoin phrase relay, you should call it the "malcovich" relay after that movie Being John Malcovich.
That seen where everyone just goes "malcovich, malcovich" this is how it feels sometimes here.
Well that's kinda the funny thing perhaps. Because why can't the user decide the split?
So imagine if there is a default, fine. But say I want to send 98 % to the sound engineer. Imagine if the user can slide the splits around.
Idk, could be interesting.
How does it remind you of nostr? Are you the guy trying to convince the rest of the jury that nostr is not about bitcoin?
Why conference, you can be the one and only guest. And I have to be there.
We'll discuss with @npub19u6…m6e6 and make it happen.
It would hopefully have the info needed to make this split payment.
I just meant as a vinyl enthusiast, if you saw or if you put a nfc sticker on a record, would you think that's anathema or would you not care.
Oh but I have a question for you. Would you put a nfc sticker on the center of a vinyl record? Or would you consider this sacrilegious and somehow unbalance the thing?
Yeah, but it's the best corner.
👀 wen conference at PP Košice? I need an excuse to visit 😂
Yes, you got it. That's exactly what I'm trying to propose.
If I do this within the "podcasting 2.0" realm, it will mean that somehow you tap the media, it opens a podcast client, and from their you boost as if you did a normal PC2.0 podcast.
It maybe sounds a bit odd, but these #v4v people have really figured it out for digital media.
There may be in the future a bolt12 like qr code that can handle splits which may be cleaner (just tap and zap).
But for now, I think the easiest way is to extend the podcasting stuff.
🤷♂️
Testing testing, sending message to Košice, is there anybody out there?
@npub19u6…m6e6
I'm not sure how much this is done now in #v4v. I know sound guys like @nprofile…t0gk are including on splits in live performances, which is super cool!
I should have by next week for my talk a draft concept of a physical split concept on a nfc tag. Such that you could boost/zap all involved from physical media.
V Slovakistane je to podobné - fiasko sme videli vo firme Slovensko IT, do ktorej chodu mudroval bývalý vedúci Slovensko Digital. Nevedeli fungovať so ziskom a lacnejšie ani ako predražené dodávky megakorporácií.
The champagne of beers gets no respect.
Ok, excellent! Great to hear! I'll have to remeber to ask you in a year.
New nostr users will never know unless we make this shirt!
Maybe my grandkids will ask me about ReplyGuy.

Damn, some bangers on this feed.
I was being too meta 😀 we are on an equal footing here, we are all just npubs with the bots.
It was a half assed joke that didn't deliver well.
I followed you Italian tape rss though! I like that one.
If it's art, functionality is a side effect. 😀
What's the difference between a bot and not a bot on nostr? 🤔
The movie frame by frame is pretty creative though.
I went to this school thing yesterday talking to teachers in computer science.
Some of them had not yet heard that I teach their kids to lockpick.
But also, I said that being able to give a technical presentation in an interesting way is an underrated skill among nerds.
C shared libraries are so baller. But we "vendor" entire OSes now so idk. I think the next app container will just be the OS as well.
I've had many a docker container fail to build on me. I think people don't realize how fragile this all is.
It would be better if they just signed the soldiers/airmen/sailors foreheads.
That is in effect what they are doing here.
Yeah but, seed signer can't sponsor bitcoin podcasts to shill their warez in this model.
Think of the Podcasters that push their favorite hardware wallet, what will they do?!
Michael and Sam complained (correctly) that for some reason wavlake is not listed here: https://nostrapps.com/
This was on wavform (their podcast) last week. And then yeah, people don't realize that it is a nostr app so I can sense the frustration 😤
The website has a join the app preview button but perhaps A/B test it with it higher up? I had to scroll a bit on mobile to see it.
Waaat, but it's not in the nostr app list! 🤪

Idk, but this They Live gif is 🔥
Haha, I have to dust off my irc bouncer.
Yeah this is true. I feel bad for people who think 1080p on YT is 1080p for real. Compared to a decent blu ray, especially the audio is superior.
These tapes are nearly ready to go! I'll be bringing them to Prague next week.
I've been focused on my talk prep, but after I get back I'll try go build out the next episode. So, there is a good 50 meters of tape track for y'all left. Submissions open!
I'm still keeping it pretty flexible -- maybe I'll try a themed tape after this one. 🤷♂️

Yes lol, I heard Adam do this. I immediately thought of how you copy a tape and it gets worse each time with more and more hiss.
This is AI equivalent of copying tapes.
Waaat, how is this not a bigger thing? I don't think people are aware that video is as supported as audio.
At least I definitely wasn't.
Wow. I think people are sleeping on how cool this is. This is a podcast 2.0 feed, containing a url callout for a video.
In podverse for example, the video plays just fine. This is like self hosted youtube channels. (OK granted it's using cloudflare for the CDN but it's very difficult to host video without a CDN these days peoperly).
So this video is fully boost able, just like a podcast or song.
This is probably obvious to lot of people out there, but this is a 💡moment for me.
Thanks @nprofile…vwrz

What relay software are you using to have the WoT features?
So amazing. I wasn't able to catch this live today sadly. But I can't wait to hear how it went for all involved.
Yeah, exactly. Questions to mediate on for sure.

Making new npub friends too 🥰 I've been seeing a lot of people just share new and raw music, art, sketches, stickers, photography, videos and all sorts of things here. It's been pretty cool to take part of this with y'all.

Wow, this documentary is amazing. If you around Vienna, go checkout Supersense and let me know how it is 😀
I opened YouTube last night and stayed up way to late watching this. Ironically, I probably wouldn't have seen this had it not been for the YT algorithm. I'm not passing judgement, but only stating an observation.
But in any case, highly recommend this.

Haha yeah, no worries. Yeah the github page said it has to exist first or something like that so I'm going to try it out and maybe try to get a podcast client to think about it. 🤞
Venice's new combo is fun and food for thought - they're using a Dolphin 🐬 variant fine-tuned from a Chinese qwen base model.
Ironic that it seems the Western woke models like Gemini/Gemma are more censored than the ones approved by the Chinese Communist Party (I am talking about the base model now, Dolphin is always awesome).
Oh baller. Thanks for listening! Yeah, it's all good. If I waited but a day, I would have felt much better but then i would have lost this feeling. So it's good to capture it in the moment.
Yeah, there something special going on that keeps me moving forward. Appreciate the encouragement!

Anyone can't invest in X, it's a private company. Only the shareholders decide who can invest in it.
The worst is when they put those baby protectors in the sockets. Those never come out.

Is it just ordinary spam trying to utilise how nostr works?
Z podstaty toho, preco susne vznikaju a co obsahuju, je to vlastne toxicky odpad. mal by si mat doma kontajnes s logom "biohazard" a nechat si posmrkane vreckovky odvazat specialnou firmou do specialnej spaluvne. Rovnako, ako to robia nemocnice s odrezanymi nohami.
Same otazky...

Last year, I went to a family vacation in Thailand. At sunset, this was everyday happening at the beach. Usually they used phones not cameras though. Self organization was very funny, they were in corridors, so it looked like they were at the beach alone. It was packed with people though.

I understand. I was finding myself positively connecting with this quote and then only after I had looked it up felt a bit self conscious. I think things can be appreciated at face value, but the context helps place the work.
I do really like the movie Midnight in Paris though.
Haha yeah I read the quote and then I did the same a few minutes later 🫠
He's apparently pretty controversial though :) I'm just learning about him, but I meant this is a positive way. PV only 😀
This gives me strong Yukio Mishima vibes (whom I only recently learned about). I read this quote from him about living beautifully and dying beautifully. 🫂

Oh interesting. I'll look for this. I'm going to try to play some cassettes live at this talk. Hopefully it's not too much of an ask from the stage media team.
So I'm putting some recording clips on the tape to play.

Ah no worries, thank you. I found a reference to them in a book and became fascinated. I probably have enough to make a mention of them in my upcoming talk, but I was curious.
I also learned you needed a license to play music back then!
Honestly, there's just too much cassette history. I'm trying to make a linear narrative about it all but it's like respooling a bunch of loose tape 😀
Any of my czech or slovak friends have any interesting history about the band The Plastic People of the Universe?
Apparently they did underground cassette releases recorded at Vaclav Havel farm after they were arrested in 1976?

Už niekoľko rokov rozmýšľam nad tým ako spĺňať regulácie a odporúčania okolo bioodpadu.

"
To je všetko.

You just set the start time in the template. Wavlake calculates the duration.
Good luck with it. I was asking for something like this because I use castapod and I can insert the valueTimeSplit.
For completenes, there is another tool to generate the valueTimeSplit called "the split kit." Check both out and let us know how it works for you!

This was a technical talk given to a room full of hackers so don't feel too bad.
One take away is, don't loose physical control of you hardware wallet.
The mini disc was pretty baller.
Does strfry have the concept of public writes but authenticated downloads?
Nostr.bitpunk.fm uses nostr rs and I have authenticated writes. Which means people can't send me messages unless I white-list them.
Bur amethyst says your inbox should allow any writes on authenticated downloads and I don't know what that means.
Haha so good. It's whatever model nostr.build uses. I like to call it lowfiAI 🤣
Would you like some art?

I'm coming at it new so I can't comment on the history.
I can tell there are strong feelings, I hear y'all. But yeah, idk, I just feel sad.
To an outside this seems like a Hartfield and Mccoy thing and yeah. 😪
It's funny that CAPTCHA a.k.a.

Hell yeah they do! I just swapped tapes with @nprofile…egdu who you intro to me so thank you!
And on Instagram (don't tell anybody mmmkay) there is a international mixtape exchange every month.
yes.
it's an old attack, it will always be possible in the design of tor network given enough data and the overview of the network.
there are two ways you can counter the attack. either constant bitrate with decoy traffic (super wasteful) or high latency services (think email with 24h delivery time).
There's honestly a lot of cool stuff going on with v4v music right now. And there's lots of super passionate people doing crazy and sincerely important work.
But even after lots of good conversations today, I'm still convinced cassettes are where it's at. 🤣🫠
Well see, a pink Floyd parody I can respect 😀
That is pretty good 🤣
Yeah, I don't host stuff with them so idk. I'm pretty sure they make it clear that they take 10%. I can also understand why the v4v people are pissed.
Like these guys are out here self hosting the shit out of everything and they hear other people talking wavlake being decentralized and feeling burned.
So I get it.
I'm just trying to help move the needle by sharing my experience as someone trying to do this for the first time.
Ok I tried this. This is just like my experience ok, don't jump on me 😀
So I used the gui thing and built my blocks. I saw where to enter the time. The search function was cool.
But I don't get how to just get this snippet out. It seems like the split kit wants to make the entire rss feed. I'm self hosting castapod, I can't really replace the entire feed.
So I just need this podcast value split. I couldn't figure out how to get this in the split kit.
Did I undertand it properly that they was able identify connections from tor browser to onion service?
I've heard that the view from the trees is nice, maybe we could go back there
Thanks Steve, I'll check it out!
As JCD says, LOOK, I get what y'all are saying. I can make an argument in your favor saying it's similar to exchanges versus self custody.
I'm trying to do this by self hosting and what not. And I ran into a shit ton of issues getting to work. I pushed through, I learned a lot, the community helped out, but it's not easy.
I really don't think this kind of sarcasm is helpful to people who want to support true v4v, peer to peer music.
I'm trying to document the mistakes I made to help others who want to do go down this path.
But as someone who wants to learn how to do this, this post is not encouraging. I'd rather see posts about how to set things up, how to troubleshoot things etc...
Oh sweet! I have a minifreak I'll try this.
What vocoder are you using these days? I've been thinking of trying one.
Oh damn. Absinthe ribs. Legit.

I can't disagree with your values. Honestly, I admire your commitment.
For these reasons I'm not hosting my zine with them.
But some artists decide to do this. They could do LNbeats or use your honestly awesome template for demo.
But the artists I was trying to support chose to host with wavlake and I was trying to integrate that.
Yes thank you. After rolling my own I've come to love sovereign feeds. It was helpful when I tried to do the LIT stuff.
And I've since learned (none of this was obvious to me) that sovereign feeds does the valueTimeSplit.
But it was still pretty frustrating to find guids and urls and the like. None of these tools care if the guid is correct. So I copied in the wrong guid and it broke. Even sovereign feeds won't validate this I'm pretty sure.
I'm trying here :) I'm just sharing my experience as I new user to this and sharing what's confusing and what's frustrating.
I think there is more in common than differences in this case. But I understand your position and respect your stance.
I tried to do it by hand! So I did this actually. I completely messed it up. I was trying to find the guids and thr correct urls. I put a wrong url in for the feed url. I screwed up so bad that fountain still doesn't show the correct time value splits for this episode but I think podcast guru does.
Like I completely screwed it all up. But I did do it from scratch and I learned a lot.
I think you actually helped me 😀
And y'all pointed me to the split kit, which I couldn't use because email sign up was disabled. Idk if @nprofile…c2qa fixed that yet. But I'll try it when it does.
But, honestly I like what wavlake did here. If you are staring at the track already it's one click to get the template with all the correct urls. I just have to add the time. 🤷♂️
Oh wow, it's just in the share button. Baller.
I was recently made aware of citadel21, so cool! They did 21 and then stopped which is a baller move.
I tried to do something like this for my first cover, not as good as yours though.
If you ever want to make a cassette cover, I'm open to it!

😀 well, I like silent ghosts! I'll queue up this one too
I looked into this today. Most LiOn batteries will only swell and catch fire. The theory I saw, which I can believe, is a supply chain attack where the batteries were replaced with custom ones that contain explosives.
So, I think you are OK.
Batteries fires though, still a thing.
Duuuuude @nprofile…egdu! Simplex says it can't send a message but your package was received and I sent mine today (I was waiting for the final stickers).
You hooked me up, I'll take some pictures tomorrow.
Use this template, it works: https://www.duplication.com/printspecs/jcard/jp0-2024-07-29.zip
I use regular paper to keep it lofi. If you are going to do a color print I'd step it up to gloss. Card stock is too thick I think.
I was once a c++ wizard. I wrote a macro template once that literally replaced a person's job. I wish I remeber what it was.
I don't prefer c++ but there are some baller features. Declaring objects on the stack is like my favorite thing. Nobody will realize you blew the stack until you've left the company.
Alchemy of sound. That is a great way of putting it.
How many?
I haven't really thought about doing runs but I guess why not!
Just to give you the material cost, these tapes cost me 328 usd. For 100, 40minute tapes with the norelco cases.
So I can totally get the tapes, put you audio on each one and ship them to you. With the duplicator now I did a run of 30 in like 2 hours and I like how they sound.
I'm not quite sure how to handle the artwork. There are templates but I don't have a color printer. So I don't know if y'all want to do it or what.
I'm open to chat! Unsatko.02 on signal or simplex link on bitpunk.fm.
Totally! I wish they had a orange purple mix 😀
Yeah! Can't wait to hear it! People keep submitting so I'll keep making tapes.
The next few issues of bitpunk fm will be on these beauties.
Submissions are always open!

You know, honestly, I'd consider an iso. Just like tails.
There's no difference really between a hardware wallet (which is a general purpose) and a laptop (which is a general purpose computer).
Stick in a usb, boot into seed signer, and reboot.
Tails has been doing this for a long time. It's a proven security approach.
Congrats! I've been listening to a lot of Whiplash on repeat (the movie), so I can't say good job without thinking of that movie. So congrats 😀
For my hcpp talk I'm doing a short history of cassettes that caused revolutions. Both cultural and real.
So I dug into a box in my basement. I found a mixtape a friend made for my wife. It's the furthest thing from anachary in a way, but in another it's not. They are individual acts of expression and peer to peer distribution.

It's almost like you can't trust hardware!
I'll eventually tire of saying this but not yet.
Aww, you are spoiling the fun! Most people make predictions and no one looks up to see if they were correct.
One of the most famous bitcoin critics. His predictions are always spot on, be careful, bitcoin is only for terrorists and governments should print money to "save the economy" (Offer a blood sacrifice to the almighty altar of aggregate demand.)
(Never forget that they gave this guy a Nobel Prize in economics 10 years after he said this nonsense. The titles don’t matter, the made up math doesn’t matter, Paul Krugman is guaranteed to say something dumb again.)

I just made a trumpet / synth / noise? mashup. Objectively, it's OK. I'm happy with it. I had this idea in the morning and just couldn't stop until I got it out of my head.
Emotionally though, I was balling. I think I have some past trauma I'm working through. I could hardly re listen to it.
I never really had this experience before. I feel exhausted and drained but relieved.
I'm not quite sure what to think of this.
I thought about doing a form. But then forms are like the most corporate thing.
So you can either send it to me on simplex or you can publish to wavlake/lnbeats and send me the link.
If you want me to add the v4v split for you, I need a lightning address tho.
5m or less preferred as sides are 20 minute each. But if you want to go long I'll try to make it fit.
Go to the chapter "superintelligence is a bitcoiner." I think you would like it. This note reminded me of it.

Paul Rosenberg hovorí, že žijeme vo veku vesmírnych technológiami so systémami vládnutia z doby bronzovej. Frank Braun zase hovorí, že technológie vedú a politici ich len nasledujú.
Predstavujem si poloretardovaných top politikov, ktorí nevedia používať ani ChatGPT. Ľudský druh sa delí na dve poddruhy. Jeden z nich vykročí na obežnú dráhu a pôjde ďalej. A ten druhý bude vedieť naspamäť preambulu ústavy.
long answer:
Complexity: A Guided Tour - Book by Melanie Mitchell
short answer - look up scale free networks
micro answer - yes, one of the properties of decentralization is how it reacts to failure.
Nostr is not a transport layer, for example I'm working on using Nostr over Reticulum/ LoRA which is a different transport layer yet using the same Nostr protocol. I believe a good question about Nostr decentralization is not about decentralization of TCP/IP, even though it inherits its properties if you use it through this protocol.
The good question is how resilient the network is against attacks on relays, but you always need to have a dynamic look at things - what will the network do after the attack is as good of a question as what happens immediately after a successful attack.
very cool.

Reasoning: The statement makes a connection between a physical object (laptop) and an abstract concept ("cloud") without providing a clear explanation of the mechanism behind this transfer. This suggests an observational understanding based on perceived correlation rather than established causal relationships.

It's on your laptop, and it's then therefore up here in this cloud, that exists above us, right? It's no longer in a physical place

Yeah I'd say pretty good!
Another problem with measures of decentralization is taking into account the dynamics. That can also be done (in this case fragility analysis).
Yes, most posts are on one relay. The question is what would people do if it fails for some reason. Would they point to Peter's paper and say "haha, he told you so" or would they move on and use things differently, use other relays, mirror content, etc.
Because that's what matters. With Facebook, you can't do that.
I use public relays, but all my notes are backed up and frequently synced to other relays. When people lose their notes, will they perhaps demand a backup/replication service and use more relays? Very probably. And that is what really matters.
That's what I like about it. In theory it sucks, in practice it works.
It's like e-mail. Super bad idea to do it like it was invented, but we found a way to use it daily and it just works.
Overengineered designs earn PhDs, but don't have users.
There actually are pretty good measures of decentralization. You can look at it as graph and see what failure means (is it scale free?), and many others.
Choosing the right metric is difficult though. People usually pick the one that says what they want to say. It's been the case with lightning for example.
Do you know of this book? Sounds cool.
See, they just don't have the same ring to it if you called them sex "vods" or videos. Tape is where it's at.

Maybe. This is the argument why bezos bought the Washington post for example.
I just don't think they are out to crush dreams as ther main thing. I'd agree with you if you said their main purpose is to spin their message or get influence. So perhaps I'm splitting hairs.
At the end, they really don't care about us anyway.
I feel like I would try physical ticket sales if I was him.
How punk would it be to say we don't accept digital tickets?!
That is pretty baller. I should open up some more channels...
I'm not sure that's the purpose. I think their purpose is to make you addicted to watch, look, and other wise pay attention to them so that they can make money on advertising.
You loosing your dreams because you are now too scared and fearful until the TV shows you a cute puppy is just a side effect.
Ultimately, same conclusion. But i think the fact that they don't even care what happens as long as the ads come in is worse.
I have a grapheneOS phone and I'll give it s shot a bit later.

In terms of your latest podcast suggestion with Marc A. Rust is an elitist language. It's an extreme language and community disconnected with the populist at large.

But who knows.

The last corporate job I had I lasted 31 days before I quit. The reason I lasted so long was that my friend only got his referral bonus if I stayed 30 days. So I was there 31 just to be sure.
A time before that I was designed Nuclear reactor control systems. I quit by putting letters in people's keyboards and then leaving for the day (and for good).
I've been running that power supply for 15 years or so. It's great. Best of luck.

Ot exists as bitcoin script. In fact it's based on the best programming language ever: FORTH.
FORTH is both interpreted and compiled its pretty trippy. I've used it to bootstrap soft core processors in a fpga. You have this god mode level debugging in that environment too.
You have ro contribute to the project 😀 or randomly meet me at a conference.
So that means submitting some sort of audio you made. Could be a music track, you can write a poem and record it, you can do something more experimental / noise based. You could write an short essay read that. Record some ambient sounds / mix it.
Whatever inspires you. Then you can submit it to me, if / when it makes the tape I'll mail you one.
This is the main stack in rolling with now. I've got a tascam 424 also for (trying) to make some music.

What AI features of the new Pixel 9 line (I have Fold) are available that are both offline (without Google servers, downloading a model from Google servers is ok, but no specific data for inference to Google) and supported on GrapheneOS ? What cool local AI apps do you use?
Discovered so far:
- Pixel Camera app and Google photos do some AI magic locally, add me works great, so does AI enhancement of photos. Install Google photos and pixel camera, click on the effects and tools to download models, then turn off networking. Magic editing via generative images (replace trashcan with a plant) requires Google servers :(
- ChatterUI works with llama8 and gemma2 based models, I use uncensored Dolphin models. It is a bit slow, but it works. Is there anything faster / better?
- voice recognition keyboard - Transcribro. You can type by talking.
Any other features? Is there a local only assistant for basic things such as setting timers and controlling lights?

Appreciate the help! I tried to zap you but amethyst said it couldn't find you lnurl from get alby...🤷♂️
Yeah for the Technical "articles" I basically write them out and then narrate them. I'm going for a more "magazine" like feel.
I like more fluid and casual descriptions like you did on IOBound. In my case, I've got to fit a bunch of stuff in 20 minutes per side so I have to be more ateuctured.
Interesting. I got a notification that you followed me so perhaps.
I forgot they were called toots...
Yeah so OTP is completely impractical, which is why I love it!
But regardless it's still used today because of the properties I mentioned.
If you read JP Aumasson latest book, serious cryptogrpahy, he says this:
"You must have a key as long as the plaintext to achieve perfect security, but this quickly becomes impractical for real world use. Next I'll discuss the approach taken in modern-day encryption to achieve the best security that's both possible and practical."
The OTP took 1 page to describe the rest of the book is like 323 pages talking about how to make it more practical 🙃
So yeah idk. I don't think it's that impractical for short messages and if you can give someone the key material before hand. Right tool for the job and all that.
I still don't get how this works. If I make an account in noagenda.social or whatever it is now, I can follow other activity pubs accounts? Is that correct?
"Well, bitpunk fm, I feel like I'm listening to a good old cassette tape while reading your post. "
I'll take it personality bot.
I mean, it's pretty spot on.
It's OK. Punks not dead. Tapes not dead.
If you have to tell people the thing you are into is not dead you are in the right field.
This there a nice list of SK/CZ conferences like this?
Value for Value tastes best when it comes from freedom-seeking cool people.
I don't disagree with you, but many platforms had problem of normies coming in and basically shitting on the street, making cool people leave.
Nostr will either die or this will happen to it too, I just hope it won't be too soon, so we can have some more fun here.
USENET / Mailing lists -> IRC -> SILC -> (pre-social forums, for me kyberia) -> Facebook -> Instagram/Twitter/...
All has the same fate. Cool people are in, discussions are fun, then normies come, there's ton of spam, cool people leave.
Thank you for reminding me of my deadlines! 😉
I will bring some cool people from Žilina this Saturday.

For me it is better to use Obtainium for the two apps that are not obtainable through normal stores and are F-Droid only than to run another store and micromanage it.
As a personal KPI it's good. It's not about judging, I'm not saying there's anyone who would not come. I personally prefer quality over quantity and striving for numbers is not the best approach.
Value is always subjective and it's good.
For some people even Facebook is good.
Atomstr works
Môj najnovší podcast je tu.

Your KPIs were due 9 days ago Juraj, you are late turning them in!
Growth is not my KPI.
Freedom and cool people is.
Pro-tip: you can ditch also F-Droid store, Obtainium can install from F-Droid repos.
Working on cassette data transmission some more. This is some data encrypted with the tool "age" streaming back live.
It does decrypt, which means it has a perfect recovery, which is sometimes useful:🤣

Apple let's you remove it? I thought it was like those U2 songs it force on you once upon a time.
Don't mind me, I'm just writing hidden messages in audio files via spectrograms.

- This tractor is huge.
~ But it' Lamborghini!
True, but lots of regulations were actually removed. There used to be state sanctioned monopolies of airlines in many countries.
But yeah, people can't take their guns and mineral water, that is ridiculous. And not going away :(
There are government agents and statists here...
Outdated in the best way possible - the state of the ecosystem is even better than I thought!
and with proper hipster coffee, Cypherpunk visions and trends 2023-2025 couldn't be in better company.
Enjoy both!

No, they support NWC, not on device wallet
I learn something new about nostr everyday.
Ohh, tell us the word! Will you mute your own posts?!
This is on my Top 5 John Cusack films.
Beautiful. Nostr needs more zines.
So good. He has such a sad story. His interviews with Charlie Rose are also incredible.
Oh yeah, somehow I stumbled into their planning session this week. Amazing setup with cloudflare and multiple bands. Would love to see more details on this actually.
That's pretty good. I saw some B17 at an airshow a few years back. I'll have to dig up some pictures for ya.
Speaking of, I think I figured out this chat thing.
So I think I can link people to a chat on nostr like this (I might shorten the url)
https://njump.me/nevent1qqswe7j2ttfpevnqxs2unh90nye84aum8lm6y7ldhfwz3az79yzvaccpzamhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw3c82mnt9enx6tczypx54dehutamttc06kgtfdlgcml8d5aq92termmlmt8kq8u72radsqcyqqqqq2q9wp0aj
That intro tho!

Ahhh, they are all the same thing. OK that was the piece I was missing. Ty.
So how long do you want them not leaked for? Because I think each upload is a different url and idk how they generate the url.
So what I do is upload photos there and the maybe use them in posts a day or 2 later. They are technically public, but unless someone is actively scraping I think this works for me at least.
