I don't know if mastodon supports registration applications (ie. all registrations must be approved by a moderator), if so, may be worth going to that instead of fully open afterward, for a while. Just not good at first because you'd get too many applications.

Because I have never actually tried to use mapfile myself. I just know it exists and it's in one of my scripts, someone gave me a command that solved a problem I had, and I checked it to be sure it was doing roughly what I expected, and not stealing my passwords, and then didn't bother understanding it any further.

I don't understand enough of electricity to understand how you can make a NOT gate, because clearly you can't put power in and get no power out, or put no power in and get power out. I have a vague idea that it's some high/low thing instead.
But waves... What the fuck is a wave, really. How does it really work? Radio waves, audio waves, wifi waves, whatever.
Presumably it does not travel in a single direction, but how can it oscillate in that case? It can't be physical position that's being measured there.
