It will always happen that yourself, and someone you trust, end up following a fake profile, it's pretty quick and easy to do sometimes. So it's not enough yes.
Though if there is some attestation for "human", or "I trust this person", using attestations on Nostr, that increases the trust. It scales because I don't need to verify every human myself, if I verify a few and I trust those individuals, I'll trust their judgements and "accept" their claims (attestations) towards other accounts (humans).

I have friends who say they need to go out of the house and to the gym to exercise, I'm opposite, I just exercise whenever I'm up for it and wherever I am. So much great ways to improve strength, push-ups and pull-ups are my favorites.
I also believe that if a person cannot exercise at home 15 minutes every day, then thinking they'll be more successful starting to go to the gym, is a bit delusional. 15 minutes at home every day for 6 months before considering gym is my advice.

Nostria simply get's everything, all the music events and locally caches it, so you can search and discover.
That won't scale to massive levels though, that will require an indexer and using the search NIP on Nostr protocol to search on a large scale.
Though Nostr is not about global indexing content, it's decentralized and subjective/personalized views, which is why Nostria can filter based upon your following, or follow sets (people), and curated lists.
What can also be done, is search the RSS feeds and then produce custom Nostr events so the mapping between Nostr and RSS become more Nostr-native. Using the "q" or something tag as a external link reference.

* Accidental reactions has been fixed.
* New toggle in General settings to disable interaction sounds.
* Long-press on mobile devices to open the quick-selection of latest used emojis, click the "..." button to open full emoji picker which has search. You can press and hold in the full emoji dialog to make it "most recent" or "make default". Default is then what happens with a quick-tap.
* Note editor has been a long process to improve and get working well. There is an "experimental editor" toggle in the settings, this will go away soon as the new editor has been working well. This issue you reported though, is same in both new and old editor - is fixed now.
* "incoherent mix of rectangular and rounded elements" - I really love to make a polished UI, though I can't make it perfect everywhere as I have limited time on this.
* Avatar disappearing - Made a fix for this, need to test in production to see if it works.
* Settings have been improved with proper sub-routing for each section.
* Notifications has changed: Previously it would show counter for all notifications, also after you started interacting with them and making some "read", and if you scrolled down and loaded older ones, it would include that in the counter. Now it will only show counters for anything that is new, after the initial interactions in notifications. So after an initial login, a user can run "Mark all as read" to reset the counter, and it will not increase counter when scrolling down looking at old notifications.
The Nostria button on the top can be configured to either go: "Feeds" or "Home" or "First Menu Item". This means you can configure it to go anywhere, like "Music" by making Music the first menu option. You can re-arrange the menu items in the settings.
Thanks for feedback on the new icon/login, was an interesting journey to come up with it.
Version 3.1.46 has all these fixes, it has been released on GitHub, Zapstore and web server.

There is, Amethyst will connect to all the relays specified, some user have 20-30-40 relays, that means Amethyst connects to all of them and retrieves each event the user posts that amount of times.
Nostria will by default connect to 3-4, is user-configured, and it optimized selection if a user is using a common relay.
Setting it to 1, would save even more bandwidth.
Plenty of ways to optimize bandwidth usage, though it will never be as good as centralized services.

Amethyst afaik supports a whole range of languages, not good enough? @nprofile…m0xe which I develop supports some extra languages, though everything is not translated yet. Is there anything specifically you're looking for other than translated labels and texts? Auto-pick language based upon device/browser language is important I believe.

Yes, these three things I've focused on in Nostria. Sign-in is smooth and easy, Search works OK, but I had a plan to build a custom search relay that extend the protocol with backwards compatibility, though I don't have money to run infrastructure for it yet.

Primal Web appears to be in "maintenance mode" for a long time already. Basically nothing new happens, issues that users is registering on GitHub simply gets ignored. The team members posts on Nostr asking for user feedback, yet keeps ignoring feedback when they get it.
The way you treat your users, is a good indication on how much you care about your own products.

I'm sure there are plenty other software that is infected, and always consider every single closed-source software to be infected due to the government regulations in many countries allows covertly forcing employees to put backdoors into their software.

Bookmarks section in Nostria is primarily for events and addressable events, but the NIPs also support adding "r" for external resources, which Nostria supports. It's different structures and the "web bookmarks" within Bookmarks is just the URL, not extra metadata, while the new Web Bookmarks (called Social Bookmarks in Nostria) has title and descriptions.
Sorry for the confusion there, maybe I'll have to remove the capability to add web bookmarks in "Bookmarks", since Amethyst and likely other Nostr clients doesn't implement this support.

Thanks for the feedback! It's an uphill struggle to bootstrap these communities for sure. Can't curate for everyone in the beginning and specialized services will take long time for all of these projects.
What you can get in these smaller "cities" though, is the ability to simply walk "downtown" to get groceries, prepared food, some entertainment, bars, sauna, gym, playgrounds, socializing. If I can get my main needs covered, it's easier to use the car for more specialized needs.
Even when living in a modern city these days, you often need a car - at least where public transport is not covered well, and even then it doesn't always get you everywhere you want to go, especially not within reasonable time.

Amethyst had an old implementation of bookmarks in previous version, latest is updated to work similar to Nostria.
I see latest Amethyst has both Bookmarks and Web Bookmarks, Web Bookmarks is likely the NIP-B0? Nostria does not implement this.
"Websites" in bookmarks on Nostria is "r" tags, part of NIP-24. I just made an edit of the primary bookmark list in Amethyst, and it did not affect the "r" tags, didn't remove them. Though adding a website to a bookmark list in Nostria, won't appear in Amethyst at all, since it's a different "thing".
Did an improvement with live refresh of bookmarks in Nostria, so when you remove or add any bookmarks in another client, it will instantly reflect that if you have the bookmarks open. Released in the web app, will be included in next native release that comes tomorrow.

Read aloud narration has been greatly improved with more performant Text To Speech (TTS) models in #Nostria. Works on Feeds, Threads, Articles and profile Timelines. Optimized specifically for the different needs. More tuning yet to be added as this is a work in progress. Starting the "Read feed aloud" will begin where you are in the feed, not from the top.

AI within #Nostria is still a work in progress, but added some new models and capabilities. Fixed an issue with WebGPU on the desktop app so it works well on Windows. Linux and macOS probably needs more work, don't have machine to test that right now. WebGPU can be disabled in the AI setting so it falls back to WASM, which is slower, but workable.

It will also take some time to understand where our place in the world will be. For example I never write posts or replies on social networks when I write for other people - except of course some marketing material, websites, etc. Value of something is a combination of what went in to it, and how the receiver values it. If it was generated by some electricity, it's often not worth more than the electricity. Me writing this right now, cost a lot more than that.

The delete itself in Sunami and Nostria is basically the same, has to either be that the delete not being sent to all relays that the music was on, or perhaps some relays have issues with "k" tag on delete events? @nprofile…pz5f doesn't set "k" tag, but the NIP-09 says it "SHOULD" do so, but I highly doubt that is the reason.
Also if you delete a music track, for any existing user that have the music cached, they must open each track individually and then it will disappear from their album.
I'll implement some logic in the future sometime where it will go through all cached music and attempt to retrieve any delete events that exists for them and remove from cache.
There is still a a couple tracks that does not disappear fully Henrik, they appear in both Sunami and Nostria, I will send the IDs to you in a DM so you can delete those too.
If some of your delete tracks still is listed in Nostria on your device, just open their details page, wait a few seconds while it gets the delete event and this should appear, and it will be gone. Understand this is frustrating and slow process to clean up locally, will get better in the future.

There has been a lot of large lay-offs in the IT-industry recently and I believe more will come. The market for individuals looking for jobs will get harder and more difficult. I'm currently looking for a job and I was almost scammed just like the guy explains in this video (in comment). The scammers is extremely elaborate, creating realistic looking social media accounts, with AI-generated content combined with real content. Their websites and descriptions is perfect, no flaws like the silly spam e-mails we're used to getting. They combine real profiles with fake content, tricking people who are getting more and more desperate for opportunities.
Spent last year building an amazing social network app, @nprofile…m0xe, that I'd love to turn into a SaaS for enterprise/business. Next version adds a feature rich AI chat with local and cloud inference. Though I can't do this alone anymore, so I'm looking for potential partners. If anyone is interested, reach out to me.
Doubt that will happen, so I'm still looking for new job opportunities (remote), focused on product manager, development lead, developer experience - I have very extensive experience on AI/LLM that I can bring into your organization, combined with wide industry experience and developer competency.

Remember Mixer? Microsoft attempted to buy Twitch, got a no, ended up buying Beam, renaming it to Mixer - throwing millions at big streamers to move over to their platform, only to shut it down with massive losses.
The bandwidth costs is the real issue for decentralized alternatives, though I think it can be done if we make some easy to setup software and have people open their firewalls and host it.
Nostria will do live streaming (stream from your phone) as soon as I have a provider for cheap TURN server.

The installer (apk) on website is now a completely different package than before (v3.1.11 or newer). Needs more testers before I publish to Zapstore. It now includes full native signer support.

Great app!
It's one of the reasons why I had to implement an image proxy for @nprofile…m0xe, many Nostr clients has not been good at image optimization before uploading. Biggest I'm following has an 17.16 MB, yet the thumbnail shown in Nostria for him is only 1.16 KB. Saves bandwidth, processing, memory and battery.

There will soon be fully packages for Linux, Mac, Windows, Android and iOS for Nostria, and not just "web-shells" that are installable. That also means native Amber (local signer) support is arriving soon.

Unfortunately I think substr is a centralized service, so hard to do.
What I can do though, is improve the dashboard for communities on Nostr. Give me some time and I'll get it sorted.

Perhaps, I just checked it out now. The "substrs" themselves is not created by signing anything, created by the service?
When posting creates kind 1 posts with a few non-standard tags such as "c" (which is supposed to be git commit id), "type" and "poll_results"
Is Communities (it's like Reddit) not a better option, which is a standard NIP and it can be supported by multiple clients?
Some clients has also started doing a new community type that is simply based upon a tag, while normal communities allow moderation and relay selection. Nostria will probably add support for that as well soon, so you can just choose "Moderated" or not.
I don't think the "substrs" are published as Nostr events, so would need to create the "substrs" list using queries for events where people have posted in them, not very optimal.
