It also uses LND, Zeus Connect, Electrs, Btcpayserver, RTL. It all routes through tor. Also, all systemd services are isolated (running from their own user). There are many ways to harden and OS. Sovran_SystemsOS has no privileged users except root and again all bitcoin software is run through tor in its "sandboxed" systemd units.

People here have strong opinions on the matter. Both of them have easy rethotic. I am for Bitcoin as peer to peer cash and move in that direction. August will interesting and after, Bitcoin will still be Bitcoin.
If you want to run a Bitcoin node, I like the system I built - Sovran_SystemsOS. I have been using it for over 5 years. I tried to built so it is as easy as possible for newbies.

Also, I have been serving all my software sovereignly, I did not know one had to KYC to get a VPS? Is this the industry standard? Well sure, this could happen. Just like I could get hit by lightning. Yes, there is always a probability. However, game theory would suggest that educated honest (and self interested) people understand proper economics and that supply and demand IS the market force. Thus, limited supply with high demand (economic utility) creates wealth. Therefore, there will always be a hard fork as long as smart people still exist in the world.
This is just basic knowledge which springs from the discovery of Bitcoin.
To theorize to the contrary is to not understand this dynamic.
