I feel a little bit foolish, I run a solar powered server which provides a #mastodon instance, a #bittorrent client and a #gitea server. During the winter it's only online for fairly short periods of time depending on the sun.
Ive got some markdown files on the gitea server which I edit using the website, I therefore have to wait for the sunshine before i can do this, it can be a little annoying if the timing doesn't line up with my day schedule.
I have only just clicked that it's #git so I can clone to my laptop, edit to my hearts content and then push it back when the server is online. Honestly completely forgot this key function. Git (or other similar systems) are ideal for a #solarpunk #frugalcomputing approach, the server doesn't need to be online all day as it's not actually doing much in between, I can work separately. I wonder if this model could be applied to our parts of our day to day work

Hey #gardening mastodon,
while it’s been a weird year for my #vegetables I am about to harvest quite a bit and will have a fair amount of empty raised bed, I’ve not got anything started - any suggestions of what I could plant now to fill the gaps?

A few of my onions are looking ready, it’s super grey and damp here so I’m going to have to dry them in my garage - for #gardening experts will that be okay?

I have a low quality #geigercounter counter in my garage (it’s a RadiationD v1.1(CAJOE) if your interested). Ive linked up a #nanopi and monitor for ‘counts’ using a gpio and a c program (https://git.solarcene.community/smallsolar/nano_geiger_counter) - it’s definitely poor quality as I get 3 CPM on average which is below what it should do.
I noticed on my #grafana setup that something has changed…

I’ve just been informed by my 4yr old that we really need to use less cars and aeroplanes as the world is poorly. She also informs me that eating more vegetables will help.
Perhaps there is #hope
